Word hiding comments on text with tracked changes
This is an extremely frustrating bug that I've been experiencing for maybe six months or more in Microsoft 365. If I add a comment to text that I've changed via track changes (e.g. I've bolded it), the comment will be irretrievably hidden, though the commented-on text will still he highlighted, suggesting there is a comment there; it just can't be seen. This doesn't happen with all changes, though font changes seem to be the biggest culprit. It's annoying when I forget it's there, take a couple minutes writing a comment explaining changes for a client, only to see it disappear and not be able to even retrieve the text I wrote. I hope there's a fix coming for this soon?cameron_coombeDec 20, 2024Copper Contributor15Views0likes1CommentWeird frame around paragraph in Word
Hello ! About two months ago, frames appeared around every paragraph in all my Word documents. I have attempted to remove them using the following menus: margins, borders, grid and rulers, spacing between paragraphs, and other formatting elements, but they persist. They remain invisible when printing or exporting as a PDF, yet they appear in both the page view and online display modes. I work on Word mac 16.92 on a 2021 Macbook Pro. See the attached pictures for an example. the frame is already there before I start writing. Could you kindly help me figure out how to remove the frames around every paragraph?SolvedCurious1234Dec 19, 2024Copper Contributor15Views0likes2CommentsCan't maximize word 365 files after being minimized to the taskbar
When I minimize multiple word 365 files to the taskbar and then try to maximize again, I can't. If I click on word or hover the mouse over it on the taskbar, it shows the multiple files briefly and minimizes itself again. I configured the Word executable to maximize without success. If there is only 1 file open that is minimized, I can maximize it with no problem. I can also bring up the file by doing alt-tab. Any thoughts?maronson15Dec 17, 2024Copper Contributor3Views0likes1CommentMicrosoft office online

Within the last month or so I have found that embedded hyperlinks in a Word document (on desktop PC) are being lost when I copy text into another program. The links revert to text only in WordPress and between the desktop Word document and pasting into Word Online. The only way I have found to get round this is to open the document in Word Online - in which case the hyperlinks stay intact - and then copy from there into WordPress (or anything else). This is not ideal and I wondered if this was a known issue or there is a setting in Word which is causing this to happen. It feels like the copy function in Word is set to only copy text and not the links (or formatting for that matter). I wondered if I had triggered a setting that has caused this to happen but when searching in settings and tabs (or forums) I have not found anything obvious. Does anyone have the same issue?paulfcDec 16, 2024Copper Contributor96Views1like1CommentCan't maximize word 365 files after being minimized to the taskbar

After I minimize multiple word 365 files to the windows 11 taskbar, I can't bring them back up by clicking on word. When I click on word on the taskbar or hover with my mouse on word, it will briefly show the documents and minimize itself again. I configured the word executable to maximize. When I print, I get the message "Your margins are pretty small. Some of your content might be cut off when you print. Do you still wish to print". If I had a 50 page document, I hit it once and the document prints. Recently it changed and if I print 50 pages, I have to hit it 50 times! I do not wish to change my margins, I need the small margins and they print fine. My printer is a Color Laserjet Enterprise M455. This just started happening a few months ago. How do I go back to only having to hit it once or perhaps get rid of the message for good?jwinDec 11, 2024Copper Contributor36Views0likes2Comments
