Microsoft and VMware have long been partners, delivering integrated solutions that help IT support their business needs. Over the last few years, organizations have come to depend upon the integration of Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop and VMware Horizon Cloud to help them meet their flexible workforce needs.
Building on that relationship, today we're excited to announce a new solution now in public preview that integrates Windows 365 with VMware Horizon Cloud. With this integration, even more Windows 365 and VMware users can access their persistent, cloud-hosted Windows 11 or Windows 10 desktops from anywhere on any device.
This collaboration brings the VMware Blast Extreme protocol and VMware gateway to Windows 365 Cloud PCs by using the same simple deployment and management capabilities that current Windows 365 customers expect—all while taking advantage of VMware's remoting features and hybrid deployment capabilities. Microsoft Intune will still handle the provisioning and configuration of these Cloud PCs, streamlining management for IT admins.
Bringing the Windows 365 experience to Horizon Cloud
Windows 365 combines the power and security of the cloud with the versatility and simplicity of the PC, providing users with a secure, personalized, and consistent Windows experience anywhere they work, even on personal devices. Microsoft Intune provides a fast, simple way for IT admins to deploy, configure, and manage Cloud PCs while also automating installation of the Horizon agent.
VMware brings value-added features such as simplified delivery for on-premises and legacy applications through App Volumes and support for peripherals. Together, these technology solutions deliver an end-user Cloud PC experience that is also familiar to existing VMware Horizon users.
