Is there a coherent way to investigate File Explorer crashes?
I have installed Win11 24H2 from scratch (i.e., not upgrading a previous version of Windows). I find File Explorer is crashing. This tends to happen when I right-click on something in File Explorer. It seems mostly to happen when I right-click on something in the navigation pane, but I just had a crash when I right-clicked on empty space in the Details pane. Google searches lead to lists of things to try. Prior experience teaches that these laundry lists of possible solutions can waste a lot of time. Experience with this particular problem supports that impression. It seems it might make more sense to know where to look, in various logs, to figure out what happened, in the moments after some such crash. Or to have a tool that can parse such logs in lay terms. The question is, is there a tool or method that I can use to approach Explorer crashes systematically, instead of trying random "solutions" that may actually have nothing to do with the problem.AsainnaJan 15, 2025Iron Contributor8Views0likes1CommentWindows 11 PC health check - Your school manages this PC

Hello, guys! I recently encountered a super headache, I want to ask you: can I recover permanently deleted videos from PC Windows 11? The thing is, when I was organizing my computer files, I accidentally deleted a very important video folder, and even emptied the Recycle Bin! Some of those videos are work materials, some are home videos, the total size is about 15GB, and now I can't find them at all. I tried to use the file recovery tool (Windows File Recovery) that comes with Windows, but the command line operation is too complicated and I don't understand how to use it. And after using it for a long time, I still couldn't get the files back. Does anyone know a simpler and more effective method? For example, some video recovery tools that can directly deep scan the hard drive and support MP4 or MOV formats? If there is a free one, it would be the best, and paid but reliable tools can also be considered! Please recommend it, it really saves my life! 🙏RonaldWhiteJan 14, 2025Iron Contributor43Views0likes6CommentsAm I the only one here crazy enough to use Windows 11 as a daily driver?
I'm loving it so far, I haven't encountered a single GSOD/BSOD since installing! The upgrade process went smoothly and I was able to activate it using my old Windows 10 Pro key.SolvedHolawayJan 14, 2025Iron Contributor15Views0likes1CommentLatest Update Keeps "Undoing Changes Made to Your Computer..."
Happy New Year everyone! OK, so not how I expected to start mine lol.I've always been able to update successfully to the latest versions of Windows but the most recent release seems to complete until.... after a few restarts... it shows the message "Undoing changes made to your computer...", and then reverts back to current Win 11 version. In addition to that, for each unsuccessful attempt at upgrading to latest version, it adds a square to a blue screen where I can select which OS I want to run. This never happened before - I would just start PC and go straight into Windows. I have 252GB free disk space on C: This is how things stand at the moment:OscarMartinezJan 14, 2025Iron Contributor41Views0likes3Comments
