Cumulative update KB5001330 fails to install
Hello Everyone ! I am getting an error for installing update KB5001330 Windows 10 version 20H2. I have no idea how to fix the issue. I have troubleshooted windows update but it wasn't helpful. I have made 4 back to back attempts to install KB5001330 but failed every time. I am looking for your kind help. The latest update has the same issue we had been facing with KB5000842 in the last two weeks
- MyUsername880Copper ContributorThank you but not for the reason you think.

gptshubham595 I am rumming Windows 10 Pro Version 20H2. I have the same issue with Windows 10 cumulative updates since March 2021. Installations either won't install or get stuck at 20% and Sfc/scannow and DISM don't work. Also, doing a in-place upgrade the installation will reverse all changes and back to square one. Now I have given up trying to update my Windows 10 Version 20H2.
If I understand your Youtube correctly, using a Windows 11 ISO for the version of my Windows 10 will solve the problems I have been having ?

JauharI am unable to install the KB5003173 update (error code 0x800f0845)
I have tried:1. Running DISM
2.
sfc \scannow
3. Updating drivers and firmware
4. Running Update Troubleshooter
I haven't yet tried running System Repair Startup, I'll update after I try that

My answer helped you? Don't forget to leave a like. Also mark the answer as solved when your problem is solved. 🙂- JauharIron ContributorYes 100k plus views seems too much on a single discussion. I didn't see that coming 😄
But Unfortunately all the tips and tricks posted by the participants in the comments never worked for nobody. The only best ways is to get back to these updates to reinstall the windows via USB Iso image or to reset the whole system this way I have reinstalled all the previous 3 KB updates, The latest one KB5003173 went smooth and installed without any error. I am yet waiting for a best answer to be marked as best response 😞- Deleted
Hello!
I have a request to you!
Could you tell if your privacy settings in Windows > diagnostics and reviews are set as basic? Is full diagnostic data - optional are passed to Microsoft ?
I asked because it is crucial! I remembered the old days of my IT origins as I changed the settings to full diagnostic data then my computer stopped having problems!
Automatic diagnostics really helped me then! Please reply
Andrew

Hi yes it's true! But the decision to mark the best answer is up to the Author and if he did not mark it, he is waiting for a solution!
- huey2003Copper ContributorI tried three times and every time I get the blue screen...
Luckily windows automatically rolls back when I restart my PC, but it's been months and Microsoft still didn't solve the problem.
Curious as to see if they will do so soon... - BabakBehraveshCopper ContributorI have the same issue. My whole Saturday spent on solving this issue but no luck.

I wasted 4-6 hours trying to troubleshoot this.
I tried all the solutions suggested here, with no change.
In the end the only way around it was to download & run the Windows 10 upgrade toolhttps://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10
run the full "Upgrade" - keeping existing settings blah blah.
- frustrated_userbkBrass ContributorGuess what? Now there's a NEW update that fails! A Windows Defender definition, or something like that. I will NOT take any further action; this one is 100% on Microsoft to fix!
- DeisemanCopper ContributorI followed this to clear windows update files and the solved the issue. Its about a third down the page when you open it.
https://howtofixwindows.com/windows-10-update-install-error/ - DeletedAll MTC members who have participated so actively in this and previous discussions about Windows 10 updates should describe their issues through the Feedback Center app for Windows and in the update topic to convey all possible messages and even a link to those discussions! It will go directly to the development teams, so you can help everyone! It is still worth taking the time to
- frustrated_userbkBrass ContributorAndrzejX, does Microsoft really have "development teams"? Do they actually spend any money on product development, or do they simply purchase outsourced junk from lowest bidder sources?
Look for even poorer quality, since Bill Gates is going to have to wring more cash out of the company for his divorce settlement.- Sabby_Copper ContributorThey do have development teams, Windows WDX team. I dont think you're going to find fix for the issue by yakking here. please file issue (properly, instead of being a a-hole) in feedback hub, FBH can collect diagnostic information more than you shared here.
And Bill is no longer with Microsoft.
I dont know what you gonna get by posting such **** replies which has no mean to topic itself. I wonder mods haven't banned you despite violation of Code of Conducts!

Jauhar Regarding the KB5001330 2021-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 10.
I have found a solution. For users on Version 20H2, use the MediaCreationTool20H2 to perform an in-place upgrade. Using the Media Creation Tool will download and install the update. The process takes about 1 - 1.5 hours. This will update your computer to the latest update.
