Watch how Phillips 66 used Copilot in Viva Glint to summarize 14k employee comments in 15 seconds

In a recent conversation between Carolyn Kalafut, a principal people scientist at Microsoft Viva, and Cassidy Potts, a co-lead of employee experience at Phillips 66, the use of Copilot in Viva Glint was discussed. Cassidy shared her experience using the tool, including how it has helped her team turn around comment analysis quickly and accurately.

Copilot in Viva Glint is currently in private preview and helps leaders quickly understand employee sentiment through comment summarization using next-gen AI. Cassidy and her team have been leveraging Copilot in Viva Glint for the past month and a half and have found it to be a game-changer.

 

First impressions and results

 

Cassidy shared how Copilot in Viva Glint has helped her and her team analyze over 14,000 comments quickly and accurately from their engagement surveys, and provide insights and actions to their leaders and managers.

 

Prior to Copilot in Viva Glint, Cassidy and her team reviewed employee comments manually from their recent engagement survey and it took about two months to complete the analysis and turn around findings and recommendations. After joining the private preview program, Cassidy experimented with Copilot in Viva Glint on this same survey. To her delight, the system returned the same six themes they had identified manually and even identified a seventh theme in just 15 seconds. To verify the accuracy of this new theme, Cassidy went back to check the employee comments and was able to identify the sentiment that supported this new recommendation, which they then used for an update to leadership.

 

Cassidy described Copilot in Viva Glint as "agile, easy, and accurate" and said that it has helped her team to take quicker action. She said, "Some of the questions I can ask are specifically what actions do employees want to see around belonging and then like 15 seconds later there's a list of six things that employees are directly asking for that would impact their belonging either today or next week."

 

With Copilot in Viva Glint, Cassidy and her team can deliver employee insights faster to leadership which in turn improves engagement, productivity and the overall employee experience at Phillips 66.
