Excluding SharePoint sites from "Never Delete" Policy?
Is there a way to exclude certain SharePoint sites from a Never Delete compliance policy, so that they are allowed to be manually deleted? And if so, how long after I add them to an exclusion list should they become available to be manually deleted?298Views0likes1CommentExcluding SharePoint Online sites from Retention Policy, for removal
I understand that when I have the Purview Retention Policy set to Never Delete, that I can't fully delete any SharePoint Online sites. If I add the sites I want to remove to the Exclude list of the Policy, how long does it normally take for that change to propagate before I have permissions to be able to delete those excluded sites?246Views1like1CommentTeams Phone: Communication Credits or full calling plan?
We are migrating 10 users away from our old VoIP provider and onto Teams Phone. Reviewing the call activity from our existing VoIP provider, these 10 lines only appear to use an average of 15 hours of calling total, across all the numbers, per month. 99% of all the calling is domestic (US/North America). Given this, does it make more sense to have each user get a Teams Phone Standard license, and a pool of Communications Credits that the Teams Phone users draw from, versus giving each user a full Teams Phone Plus Calling Plan license?Disable MRM Policy on a mailbox, while leaving In-Place Archiving enabled in Exchange Online?
I have a user whose Exchange Online currently has an MRM retention policy applied, as well as having In-Place Archiving enabled. However, I now want the user to be able to have all their mailbox items, going forward, to remain in their live mailbox, while still keeping the items in the In-Place Archive active and available to them for reference when needed. If I change just the MRM retention policy to "No Policy" for this user's mailbox, will that leave the In-Place Archive active while stopping any new/future items in the user's live mailbox from being automatically moved into the In-Place Archive?445Views0likes1CommentRe: Re-importing Calendar items from In-Place Archive, back into live Exchange mailbox?
I understand. The assumption here is that an MRM Policy had already been applied and the live mailboxes items were already moved into the In-Place Archive. The scenario that my bullet points are referring to, is under the assumption that an MRM Policy has already been applied and the items have already been moved into the In-Place Archive.758Views0likes1CommentRe-importing Calendar items from In-Place Archive, back into live Exchange mailbox?
I have a user whose primary Exchange Online mailbox had hit the 50GB limit, so In-Place Archiving needed to be turned on in order to make room in live mailbox. However, the user wants to be able to have ALL the Calendar items accessible in the live mailbox. They are fine with the Archived email items remaining in the In-Place Archive. So the questions I have are: If I set the user's MRM policy on the Archive Mailbox to 'No Policy' but leave In-Place Archving active, would I be able to export the Calendar items from the In-Place Archive to a PST (via Outlook) and then re-import them into the live mailbox? If the above were possible would all the Calendar items import back into the live mailbox's calendar in the same state they were in, in the In-Place Archive (i.e accepted, etc.) If the items reimport, will Outlook Reminders get triggered for all the re-imported items, in that the user would get a whole list of Calendar items showing up as Overdue?921Views0likes3CommentsAAD Connect or Azure Cloud Connect with Windows 2012 R2 hybrid domain?
Running a hybrid Microsoft domain, with Microsoft 365 being used mainly for Exchange Online (mail) and everything else in still on premise in a Windows 2012 R2 domain. Currently, only Azure AD Connect is being used to sync users/passwords from the AD domain to Microsoft 365. Is that still the appropriate sync tool to use, until we move everything to the cloud? And is there a way to have the sync be bi-directional, so that if I create a user in Microsoft 365, a user account would get created in the on-premise domain? Presently it appears that we have to create the user on-premise and then make modifications to its Microsoft 365 account.Questions about moving Windows endpoint from locally joined domain to Azure AD
Just a couple questions, when moving a current AD domain joined endpoint (i.e. Windows 10/11 Pro) to Azure AD. 1. Does the user's desktop look/feel change upon their next Azure AD-centric login, versus their previous domain joined profile? 2. If there were previously changes pushed out to the endpoints via local AD Domain GPOs, do those changes still remain on the endpoint machine, even after the cutover to Azure AD? 3. Is there a way to have an Azure AD authenticating machine, while still allowing the machine to access local network SMB shares, if the Azure AD and Local AD domain are in hybrid mode?Re: Way to audit user logins and file access in a SharePoint Online site?
VasilMichev, Whichever way I can get a daily recurring automated report of Guest users who have logged into SharePoint Online, I'll take it. Do you know if getting automated reports like this are available via Purview, or is there some other method (Power Automate) that I would be able to pull these audit records and have the results sent daily as an email (or email attachment)?1.9KViews0likes1CommentWay to audit user logins and file access in a SharePoint Online site?
Is there a native method to be able to track user logins and file access (both view and edit) in SharePoint sites? I haven't found a clear method to be able to pull this level of information from any of the native SPO logging.2.2KViews0likes4CommentsFinding and deleting specific text pattern in Excel Workbook
We have a CSV export that contains a specific recurring pattern of data that has been placed within brackets (e.g. <varioustexthere>) in a number of cells. Is there a way to have Excel identify all the instances of that particular text pattern (finding all instances of "bracketed" data), so that they can be mass deleted without impacting anything else in the workbook?Solved698Views0likes2CommentsCreating a "splash page' in SharePoint Online, when guest users are logging in?
Is there a way to create some sort of Splash Page in SharePoint Online, that guest users have to view and click through, before they can fully access a shared SharePoint Online site? So, the example would be: Guest User logs in and validates their login --> Splash Page presented to user to review before clicking through --> user then as full access to SharePoint Online site.1KViews0likes1CommentIdentifying date / timestamp of "Deleted" emails recovered via eDiscovery?
We have a "Never Delete" policy applied to our user mailboxes. In performing an eDiscovery, we are able to see all past Deleted emails found via the DiscoveryHolds and Deletions folders in the Discovery export. The question is, is there a way to also find out what the actual deletion date/time stamp was for these emails?Question about eDiscovery syntax
What would the appropriate eDiscovery syntax be if I wanted to perform a search on a single Exchange mailbox, capturing all email interactions between the mailbox's owner (i.e. mailto:email address removed for privacy reasons) and an external email address (i.e. mailto:email address removed for privacy reasons)?715Views1like2Comments
