Re: Is MDE off-boarding required when disposing of a device?
I'd like to know the same thing. Often times a machine dies or is unjoined from Azure AD. If MDE is not offboarded, those machines till seem to check in to the intune portal Is there anything that can be done on the back end to offboard it from the MDE device portal? I realize you can exclude devices but it's not ideal.1.1KViews0likes1CommentAdding Discover "B" To Edge via Intune
Apparently, I'm in the minority -- it doesn't bother me. And it's a helpful reminder to ask it questions and be more AI saavy. I'm really looking forward to co-pilot integration in office too. Anyway, we have users that use Edge that we manage from Intune. When managed, the discover "B" doesn't show and we are unable to change the setting manually (see graphic below). If Edge unmanaged, the B shows up and people can use it. I've asked in the Intune community but curious if someone else has found the needle in the administrative templates/settings catalog within Intune? I'd also like it to show in the taskbar search field which it does for unmanaged clients. Struggling to find these settings. Any help is greatly appreciated.1.1KViews3likes2CommentsTurning On Bing/Discovery in Edge via Intune
HI Folks We manage Edge for our users and some of them want to play with the new Big chat client. I've used it and think it's kind of cool. The potential is huge. I cannot find the proper settings in the administrative templates or settings catalog. If we use unmanaged Edge for a user, it shows up. Here is the setting I can't flip. Anyone know where it's buried in Intune Device Configurations? Thank you.9.3KViews0likes8CommentsStart/Stop VM On Demand
I've gone down the Azure Automation route with the Start/Stop VM's v2 runbook but it requires a RunAs credential. I don't want to have to deal with renewing certs every year. It sounds like managed identities (as system) is an option but the runbook doesn't support it. This would be an amazingly convenient and cost effective way for some of my users to user a VM without having to incur running all the time. I realize I can schedule the start/stop easily but in this particular application, the users don't need the VM every day. An "on demand" option would be amazing for them. A webhook call via an Edge Bookmark would be ideal. I've bing'd and google'd everything but I'm not finding any good resources for something that seems like it would be useful for many albeit not a profit generator for Microsoft. Anyone been down this path and have a resource you could point me to? Thanks in advance. -dave857Views0likes1CommentWhat Counts Against OneDrive Quota?
Something has changed in the Microsoft ecosystem within the past week or so. I have clients calling me from different tenants letting me know they are out of OneDrive space. Originally, I thought it was a total capacity issue but after further investigation, it looks like it is not just the files within onedrive. It appears that the recycle bin AND every version of a file counts against the limit. I'm seeing this across multiple tenants all at the same time this week. Anyone in the mothership know what has changed? Thank you.2.4KViews0likes1CommentRe: OneDrive limit changed from 5TB to 1TB
Something in the universe definitely changed. All of my clients have M365 Business Premium and were provisioned for 5TB. It used to be that certain subscriptions with 5 or more users were able to tap into the 5TB limit. That has changed in the past week because I'm getting calls from users on different tenants like crazy. From what I can tell, the limit has been hard set to be 1TB. When investigating the file sizes for particular users, it appears that many files that are not MS Office files are saving 1000's of versions. I realize this is by design so perhaps this has been masked for a while due to the 5TB limit. Maybe this was announced at some point but I definitely didn't see it coming. It's a major bummer.9.3KViews1like0CommentsDownloading Of Centrally Deployed Addins Failing
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction because the technician I worked with at Microsoft for almost 3 hours could not. I manage a tenant that has 3 Microsoft add-in's (I guess they are called integrated apps now) enabled: Report Message, Find Time, and Message Header Analyzer. All deployed without issue in the console and they are viewable within OWA. However, none of the Outlook M365 Business clients can see them. I was able to track this down in the event viewer: The Exchange web service request GetAppManifests failed. The error code is 0. HTTP Response Code: 403 Additional Error Message: An unknown internal error occurred. The error code is 80004005 I'm not coming up with much when doing a search but it appears as though Outlook is trying to download the apps but is getting denied. So I'm assuming there is a permission error somewhere. Does anyone know where it's going, how I might be able to view more of the error, and perhaps know if it is a tenant wide setting? Are they deployed via EWS? Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thank you.754Views0likes0CommentsRe: Unable to register HP Color Laserjet Pro M477fnw
Support reached out to me and was able to help me fix my problem. We have conditional access policies in place. One of the policies is set to not allow non-compliant machines to access the tenant. The universal print connector software is installed on a machine that is not AAD joined so it was not compliant. Easy fix -- error code wasn't super obvious but would recommend putting something in the documentation to remind people to either join the device to AAD via Endpoint Manager OR in the troubleshooting section, add a blurb that highlights checking Intune/CA policies if printers won't register. Thanks for the assist guys! 🙂2.2KViews1like0CommentsUnable to register HP Color Laserjet Pro M477fnw
Hello, When trying to register a printer using the connector software, it sees 2 printers on the local network. When I try to register them, they both fail. I opened up a ticket with support but they said they don't support Universal Print. As such, I submitted the error in my Windows Feedback Hub. However, I have yet to hear back from anyone. What is the appropriate support process I should be following? Confirmed that I have a license assigned as well as the print admin role applied. Error is below. We need an office manager to update everyone's phone number, manager, title, etc... I don't want to give them too much access. Where would they make the changes (online or Outlook) and which admin role best suits this need? Thanks in advance!605Views1like0Comments
