Where is the disposition management role assigned in M365?
Where is the "disposition management role" assigned in M365? I need to assign the disposition management role to a user in M365. The instruction here (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/disposition?view=o365-worldwide) states that the role needs to be assigned, but it does not specify where the disposition management role can be assigned. I looked in M365 admin and Exchange admin and could not find disposition management role. Where does a global admin assign the Disposition Management Role? Thank youRe: Records Management - Pending Disposition and Disposed Items - UX and Timing
Our experience: For records that have a records label where disposition review is required, we found the following to be true: - Regarding the UX question above: The object stays in SharePoint even after its retention period has expired. It stays there until a user deletes it or the disposition reviewer has approved deletion AND the system processes it (which seems to take many hours or longer). Thus, the object is still available for viewing and editing (if it is not declared a record) EVEN AFTER THE DISPOSITION REVIEWER HAS APPROVED DELETION. - For timing we are seeing a multiple day delay between the object being approved for deletion in the Pending Dispositions list (and immediately disappearing off the list) and appearing on the Disposed Items list.2.3KViews0likes0CommentsRecords Management - Pending Disposition and Disposed Items - UX and Timing
UX Question: When a document in SharePoint reaches its retention period end, it appears in the Records Management Solution's Disposition dashboard component called,"Pending Dispositions." Is it expected that the document will stay visible/accessible (and mutable if it is not a record) in its SharePoint Library until the disposition is approved, even though the retention period has ended? Timing: How long does it take for an object that has been deleted via the "Approve Disposal" action to appear in the "Disposed items" list? Minutes or hours or days?Records Retention Time Limits
Hi, In GCC High - Records Management - File Plan - We are importing using the provided template. The import was rejected showing the error "RetentionDuration. Error. The value of RetentionDuration cannot be larger than 24855" Is this a limit of the file import function or is this a limit of GCC High Records management. Not a big issue per se. 24855 (a wee bit over 68 years) should cover almost all non-permanent records. However, some orgs that work with hazardous materials or environment issues have record retention rules that require 75 years or more. Finally, curious to know why 68.0958904109589 years is the max retention. It is a unique number 🙂 Thanks! Chuck PiotrowskiRe: Enterprise to Government Compliance Center Functionality Compariston
sara.Gilbert This https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/office-365-platform-service-description/office-365-us-government/office-365-us-government makes no mention of the Information Governance and Records Management functionality that is found in E3 and E5. "Advanced Data Governance" is noted, but not Records Management and Information Governance. Does that mean that Records Management and Information Governance do not exist in Government Compliance Center? Thanks, again! -Chuck1.4KViews0likes0CommentsEnterprise to Government Compliance Center Functionality Compariston
sarah gilbert Chris Hoard recommended that reach out here and seek your wisdom. I seek a functional comparison chart for the E series (licesenses) to the equivalent G- Government for Compliance Center. Is there such a comparison available? The challenge is that we have former non-gov IT folks now working in Gov and they are seeking/expecting functionality that was in Enterprise M365, but _appears_ to not be in Gov. We seek a "this is in e, but not in g" kind of resource. Is there such a thing? Thanks for the help and clarity on this front will greatly improve our M365 adoption!
