Re: cursor not placing properly and not highlighting text to edit
You are 100% right, richardperrynz, it is a serious bug and everything is always the same answer - an operator error, or, uninstall, reinstall. That is not the answer in this case. And I literally got so sick of Windows and Microsoft not talking to each other properly and programmers not checking their work (total guess but that's what it seems like to me), I went the Mac route. Got it in the beginning of the year and haven't had a spot of trouble since.7.6KViews0likes0CommentsRe: cursor not placing properly and not highlighting text to edit
SoloPilot, it's Caralina (I don't know how my name will show up after I post this- my log in info never works the same way in Microsoft and constantly have to change passwords etc). Anyway, I like how you pushed back on your scroll bar and showed it who's boss! You also nailed my predicament - disappearing text, cut and pasting the wrong info, and then it would randomly show up in a different part of my document, and the mouse completely disappearing - that happened quite often. Glad you found a work-around! Happy for you! Made me laugh - thanks for that! I, too, found a resolution. However, I solved the problem a different way . . . I bought a MacBook and LOVE it. No more Windows/Microsoft problems for me. Except, I was forced to go the 365 subscription route (which I swore I would never do) but so far, no keyboard/highlighting/disappearing mouse issues. Cheers.7.9KViews0likes0CommentsRe: cursor not placing properly and not highlighting text to edit
MWessel I am having the same issue in Microsoft Word (but I'm using the software that came with the laptop, not the 365 app). It is so frustrating (and maddening) to highlight a word or sentence (in order to cut, paste, or delete) and then NOT have it stay highlighted to execute the task. I can't figure out what the problem is or why it's happening. Having to use the arrow key, delete key, or backspace for everything is ridiculous and such a waste of time. Unfortunately, I didn't see a reply to your call for help - we can't possibly be the only people on the planet having this issue. I hope someone can provide some insight!53KViews0likes4Comments
