A custom connector for Flow to get Office 365 Message Center posts
I though this might be useful for this community as Planner makes a great tool to manage change in Office 365 - (new Url) -https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Planner-Blog/A-Flow-Custom-Connector-to-read-O365-Communications-API/ba-p/362426This needs admin to set it up - and I've only scratched the surface with a simple flow.2.8KViews2likes2CommentsProject Server 2013 Dates of which to be aware!
If you are still running Project Server 2013 then please read https://lwal.me/5k - end of mainstream support is fast approaching (4/10/2018) and after that date to get any support you will need to be on at least the April 2017 PU.601Views1like0CommentsProject Online going into Read-Only state - why it may happen
I posted a blog on a few reasons why a PWA might go read-only - that main new one I was highlighting was for those customers who only have a Project Online Essentials license(s) which isn't enough to keep the site alive and it will get de-provisioned. We now male sure that the site will go read only - so that you know something is wrong and can get the correct licenses (add a Project Online Professional and/or Premium license) and then the site will come out of read-only. You can now, or at least by the end of the year, choose how you want your time phased data in Project Online. In the past it has always been daily, but you can choose weekly, monthly or by fiscal periods instead - or even choose not to have time phased data if you are not using those OData feeds for reporting. Choosing 'Never' or the granularity other than Daily will also likely reduce the publish time of your plans. I just posted part 1 of my walk-through of the PowerShell code in the Azure Functions behind the Change management sample - explaining my code for the pulling of data from the Message Center and writing it out to the storage queue - and part 2 will cover picking it up and creating tasks!https://lwal.me/3z3.4KViews1like7CommentsPlanner and Project Online Desktop Client
I know a few of you have already noticed this was turned on - and I just posted a short blog on the initial features. Links at the end of the blog for feedback as we'd love to know how you'd like to use this going forward and what features you are hoping for. https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/brismith/2017/08/29/microsoft-planner-linking-plans-to-a-project-task/Solved6.9KViews4likes6CommentsPlanner Reporting - Part 3 of my series just published
https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/brismith/2017/08/16/microsoft-planner-considerations-for-reporting-part-3/ I used Flow with Azure Functions to copy Planner data into Azure CosmosDB for reporting - just to give you some ideas on what's possible and the considerations for reporting against Planner data!997Views2likes1CommentReporting against Planner data
I just posted the first of three blog posts covering reporting considerations when working with Planner - take a look over on my MSDN blog -https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/brismith/2017/08/02/microsoft-planner-considerations-for-reporting-part-1/ In Part 1 I cover the basics of reporting in Planner, covering what makes sense when reporting, and what are the key data elements of Planner. In Part 2 I will look at Flow and how you could use that as a way to propagate your Planner information to a better reporting store, then I'll finish with Part 3, where I pull all my Planner data out using Python and load up into Azure Cosmos DB before reporting against that data with Power BI. Stay tuned!Solved3.3KViews2likes3CommentsHow to clone a Plan using PowerShell and Graph
