Re: Recurring session host deployment problems
David SchragHi David, we are working on solutions to make an image easier to customize and apply to existing host pools. Meanwhile, both options you listed are supported and should work without issues. There are many reasons why the VM isn't able to access the URL you provided, including proxy or firewall settings within your Azure subscription or Windows image. I won't try to troubleshoot this issue over a forum but please try to exclude as many on your end that could impact network for Windows to download the required package. Microsoft support should be able to help you troubleshoot, if you can share your CSS ticket through a private message I can look if there's anything I can help with.3.6KViews0likes1CommentRe: WVD Issue -Explorer Constantly Crashing and Restarting
Tz_Blogit's hard to troubleshoot these issues over forum posts, it typically requires a memory dump of the app or sometimes the full OS before being able to point to the root cause. This thread has been around an issue that was fixed in November '20 - also the last time someone replied to it. It's not unlikely the issue you are having is something completely else. Do you have a CSS case number I can look into?4.8KViews0likes1CommentRe: WVD black screen at logon
anthonyschneider365It would be great if we can get debug data see why the black screen is showing when using WDDM. Is there any way to reproduce and get us some data? Using the older framework isn't going to work on the long run, it will be deprecated in a future release of Windows.17KViews0likes0CommentsRe: WVD Issue -Explorer Constantly Crashing and Restarting
Adam1970I'm not sure why the 10C update isn't offered, it should be once you're up-to-date and you manually go hit the update button. You can also download it manually by going to the Microsoft Update Catalog and search for it (direct link here). You may need to download the Windows Server version due to the way win10 multi-session identifies itself. Hope to hear from you whether this helped.8.1KViews0likes8CommentsRe: WVD Issue -Explorer Constantly Crashing and Restarting
Adam1970Hi Adam, I've been chasing this internally and it turns out the 10C release has been delayed for Windows 2004/20H2 to10/29/20 - in other words: tomorrow. Let me know if you are able to see it come down and hopefully remediates the issue you are experiencing. Thanks, Pieter8.2KViews0likes12CommentsRe: Configuring Session Settings - How To?
Azure_TrebekThere are thousands of policies and many are alike with small nuances and sometimes OS version specific. It's impossible to give a precise answer based on the limited information in posts like this. I'd recommend using thishttps://gpsearch.azurewebsites.net/and you'll find the GPO needed within seconds.24KViews1like1CommentRe: WVD Golden image
ksl28Supportingephemeral/non-persistent VMs is not supported. There are multiple challenges we have to overcome such as Azure AD registrations of the OS which we've found to be challenging. Please vote on our uservoice if you feel it's something we should prioritize.2.5KViews0likes1CommentRe: Outlook displays "need password" authentication dialog isn't shown on Win10 Enterprise multi-session
werddThe Hybrid Azure AD configuration looks good and you should have SSO to specific resources such as portal.office.com. I'm not sure what could cause Outlook to require a restart - it's outside of my expertise area. Do you feel the one-time restart of the program is a viable workaround?9.3KViews0likes1CommentRe: WVD Issue -Explorer Constantly Crashing and Restarting
This specific issue only impacts Windows 10 Enterprise/multi-session version 2004 and the fix is currently scheduled for release in the third week of October. In that third week of October - if you manually click the “Check for Updates” button you will get it. If you won't check manually, you’ll receive this bugfix in November's Patch Tuesday (second week of the month).19KViews2likes19CommentsRe: Spring Update 2020 is in Public Preview!
pratik-imrielThis is not any different from traditional PCs. It does require connectivity to the VM so either use VPN or ConfigMgr installed in Azure. Intune management is coming (very) soon and will work just as with physical devices.1.7KViews1like0CommentsRe: Spring Update 2020 is in Public Preview!
pratik-imrielI'm assuming this question is around managing an WVD endpoint. In summary: Today you can use Microsoft Endpoint Manager, specifically System Center Configuration Manager, and manage VMs that are deployed as part of Windows Virtual Desktop. Very soon, you will be able to use Intune to manage Windows 10 Enterprise Later this year we are planning to have a preview to allow Intune to manage Windows 10 Enterprise multi-session Hope this is the information you are looking for - please don't hesitate with additional questions.1.7KViews2likes3Comments
