Version control in Azure Board
Hi there. We are evaluating Azure Boards for use as a requirements management system. One feature that RMS often have is the ability to version individual requirements or work items. So if I create a work item: "Requirement 1" and have it approved, I can create a new branch of that same item and call it "Requirement 1 - revised" which might sit as submitted for review before it is approved and replaces Requirement 1. Therefore they are not different objects, just different instances of the same object. I can do this in Sharepoint lists and Confluence, but of course they are different types of tools. To combine this with Boards' other features would be great. Can anyone tell me whether Boards supports this and point me to a reference? Let me know if not clear. Many thanks! MeghanC. I am so sorry..I overlooked your response. If your question is still open then we used simply a sharepoint list, but were guided by the work of Ronald Ross who you can google as a champion of business glossaries, concept maps and business rules. He has written some very useful and simple books on the subject.1KViews0likes1CommentCan you connect Powerpoint to a glossary?
We have a business glossary stored in sharepoint. Is it possible to connect to an external source to 'Add a glossary item' in the same way as I can add an equation? We have a use case where it would be useful to access glossary terms instead of allowing ambiguity by people using their own versions of terms.1.3KViews1like3CommentsVisio Online Hyperlinks stop working?
I am encountering what seems to be intermittent failures in hyperlinks added to Visio shapes....both Address and Sub-Address. Deleting/replacing the hyperlink does not work but creating the shape again seems to work. We haven't been able to track down any root cause and search/Google does not seem to throw up any similar examples. Does anyone have experience of this or offer any possible explanation?1.2KViews1like0CommentsError when calling "Update User"
I am trying to update users' profiles projects and skills attributes: calling: https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/users/ged@standswell.com@xxx.com with body: {"pastProjects": ["a","b" ]} ...works fine.... but calling: https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/users/ged@standswell.com@xxx.com with body: {"pastProjects": ["a","b" ]} returns { "error": { "code": "-1, Microsoft.Office.Server.Directory.DirectoryObjectUnauthorizedAccessException", "message": "Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation.", "innerError": { "date": "2021-04-21T15:20:09", "request-id": "xxx", "client-request-id": "xxx" } } I know that there is a note in the documentation that says these fields are not accessible to the application and require delegated permissions: could someone tell me if there is another way of doing this?1.1KViews0likes0CommentsHelp with using Power Automate/Graph connector to write to 365 Profile
I have followed this excellent demo to configure a custom Power Automate connector and use Graph to create a new Group and Team: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-au/graph/tutorials/power-automate However, the next step is more difficult. What I want to do is to use a Power Automate flow to write to any users' 365 profile to update projects and skills which I can then explore through Delve. Presumably instead of granting privs to read/write to Groups, I need to grant privs to write to 'User' but could anyone help me out with the JSON code to do so or to point me at the DOM reference that defines the User profile data model?470Views0likes0CommentsDynamics add-in for Outlook for IOS has disappeared
Please direct me to the correct board if this is not the right one 🙂 I use Outlook for iOS and I used to use the add in that allowed me to tag an email to my Dynamics app, in the same way as I use the Outlook App for Dynamics on my desktop. That add in seems to have disappeared. Can anyone advise, or suggest a link to follow to re-install? Thanks.Solved1.4KViews0likes3CommentsCustomize Planner Board
Is there any way of customizing the vizuals on a Planner Board. Instead of having buckets across the columns, I would like to have buckets as 'rows' as well. At the moment, if you use 'due date' as bucket then you get tasks progressing from right to left as time goes on. If you were able to set that 'due date' to the vertical axis then you could have tasks moving down the page like 'Tetris'. This would allow you to gamify the whole issue of task management. What framework is are the web graphics built in and is it extendable? Thanks Ged6.2KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Planner Task History
Hi jcgonzalezmartin I mean every version the Task creates. So if I create a task and assign it to myself and save, an then assign it to a colleague and save, that would be two versions. I would like to be able to see all changes either through versions of the task in a table, or some kind of change log. Thanks Gerald64KViews0likes3CommentsRe: URL for a list item into Power BI
FedericoPorceddu82 Thanks Federico...I will use that approach. Out of interest, do you know why there isn't a full URL exposed for each list item? It must exist somewhere in the metadata, because when you share an item you can 'copy link'. Gerald13KViews1like1CommentURL for a list item into Power BI
Hi, I am not a SP developer but this is a question that perhaps a developer would know. I am trying to bring data from sharepoint list into power BI. I am confronted by the various navigation steps, but eventually can create a dataset of the list items. However, I can't seem to isolate a field which gives me URL of each item. I can create one by spoofing the url of the list address and then adding the item suffix (everything below in bold) plus in this case the number 3.....I worry whether this is foolproof though because when I then visualise that in Power BI table and follow the link then sometimes it seems to break. What does the last piece of the suffix represent (in italics), is it essential, and can it be sourced from the metadata that is presented to Power BI? https://xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com/sites/Demo/Lists/DemoList/DispForm.aspx?ID=3&e=MYJpGX ThanksSolved13KViews0likes3Comments
