Sharepoint online news web part doesn't update
Hi I am having issues with the news web part that doesn't show the latest news until you refresh the page twice. Even if I shut down the browser and clear cache it doesn't help. The first time I load the page it doesn't show the latest news. I have attached a video that shows the problem, the first refresh does nothing and after the second refresh the latest news is shown. Does anybody else experience this? Best regards Fredrik1.8KViews0likes1CommentRe: edge://flags/#edge-windows-credentials-for-http-auth gone
Keith Davis I am pretty sure that this solution makes sense in some cases. I don't think Microsoft would implement the feature if it was always useless. But it's good that it will be possible to change the behavior.4.6KViews0likes0CommentsRe: edge://flags/#edge-windows-credentials-for-http-auth gone
Keith Davis As far as I understand this is the behavior when using Windows Integreated Authentication. You can use Windows Integrated Authentication to apply single sign on based on your domain credentials and in this case you will not need a password manager. The problem in my company is that some of our partners have built sites with Windows Integrated Authenticatio. We are not part of their domain and Windows Integrated Authentication will not work because of this. This is when the "bad" credential popup arrives and destroys my day. So if we get a GPO to adjust this behavior everybody will be happy.6.7KViews1like2CommentsRe: edge://flags/#edge-windows-credentials-for-http-auth gone
Alexandra-R Hi Alex Thank you for sharing this information with us. As you describe it this sounds awesome, just have to skip V. 89 but I will gladly do that If V.90 brings a solution. I have one question, I can't find any information about this on the roadmap. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=Microsoft%20Edge#owRoadmapMainContent Any idea why? Keith Davis The Beta 88.0.705.45 has the flag but the Canary 89.0.767.0 has not. Is this what you found out as well? I see that all Fawkes entries are changed to anonymous. I guess he doesn't work for Microsoft anymore. josh_bodner Removing this flag destroys my companys setup and I will be forced to disable updates all together if you can't bring back the flag. We are many who need this flag and a better way to handle it (GPO). This creates a lot of headache and it has been like this for over a year now. Is it really not possible to fix this?6.7KViews1like9CommentsRe: Windows Integrated Authentication - Dialog box prompt for credentials is the wrong one!
Deleted Hi Fawkes. It is hard for us to say anything about the way you prioritize things as we don't know what those things are. I just want you and the team to know that in my company this is by far the biggest issue regarding our new Autopilot deployment, and I think there must be a lot of enterprises that experience the same issue.3.7KViews1like0CommentsRe: edge://flags/#edge-windows-credentials-for-http-auth gone
Deleted Thank you. I really hope you have a solution for this. I am pretty sure I am not the only one in the enterprise market that uses old third party systems that we have no control over. The most important thing is that the flag is there and that it is possible to fix it even if I have to configure every computer manually but the GPO would really make life easier. Deleted Hi Fawkes This is great news. What would be even better is that if this setting could be managed through a GPO. Do you think this would be possible as it would simplify the roll out of the setting a lot. Ryan Fielding That is great! The only problem with flags is that (as far as i know) it's not possible to control in any other way then configure them on the local computer. I Would love to see a GPO for this.12KViews1like0CommentsRe: Windows Integrated Authentication - Dialog box prompt for credentials is the wrong one!
Jussi Palo I sent the feedback through the browser now. I actually sent an email to the regular consumer support as well and got a quick answer. But as soon as he understood that I am working for an enterprise he wanted me to open an enterprise support query and I don't have any support agreement so that is not an option.12KViews1like3CommentsRe: Edge Chromium and Credential Manager
HotCakeX Hi I will try to make things more clear. When accessing a page like facebook you can load the page without a username and password. If you want to access your own account you have to log in by putting your username and password in the forms on the website. When doing this with the new Edge you can chose to save the password in Edge and you can check the password in the settings menu in Edge. The problem arises when accessing a website that asks for a username and password before it loads. I think this may be "Basic Authentication" but I am not sure. When accessing a page with the "configuration" you get the promts for username and password that you can see in the pictures in the first message. If I use Internet Explorer I get the option to save the password which then is saved in the Windows Credential Manager and not the browser as in the Facebook example. If I use Edge the option to save the password doesnt show at all. The link below says that you should put the site you want to access in trusted sites and another link I found before said to put the site in Intranet Sites. I have tried both but still no success https://stackoverflow.com/questions/31855232/basic-authentication-in-edge-browser I hope this explanation gives you a better understanding of the problem.6.1KViews0likes3CommentsEdge Chromium and Credential Manager
Hi I am having an issue with the new Edge and websites that uses the credential manager. When accessing these pages in Internet Explorer or in Edge with IE Mode you will get the option save the password but this option isn't avaible when using the native Edge. I have tried putting the address in Intranet sites for Internet Explorer but to no avail. Does anybody know how to fix this? I don't want to use IE Mode on sites that works in native mode except for this issue.6.3KViews1like5Comments
