Why would a user delete anything lol....sorry I work in an organisation where its possible for someone to delete something and then change their mind. Lists looks like it has now recovery options not every from a backup. My point was if something happens like for instance an excel sheet becoming corrupt, you can restore it. If a List becomes corrupt or someone deletes a column, it would be great to restore from backup as a last resort if the list is holding company data. I will log a ticket with MS to see if they can do it, just seems Lists is not something to hold important data for now.87Views0likes3CommentsMicrosoft Lists
Just been looking into Lists in SharePoint and find its great how you can make it look and function great, very pleasing to use. I like how you can have version history on items too and also if someone did delete the list you can restore it. But what if you want to restore if from backup, what if someone deletes a column. I use AvePoint backup and it doesn't show the list as a list when i restore. It just shows a spreadsheet. I cannot then paste the spreadsheet into an empty list because some fields like People and multiple choice do not format correctly from the spreadsheet back into a list. Is it just AvePoint or are there solutions to backup Microsoft Lists and restore them as a list. I cannot see going forward with lists if you cannot restore from backup. Is there an issue currently with accessing Teams Private Channel files in SharePoint? I have looked but cannot find anything. Recently our users that used to access Teams Private channel files within SharePoint (by going to the sharepoint site and Documents and then In Channels) have noticed that when they click a folder it doesn't take them into a file list, it just does nothing. If they then press F5 to refresh it will usually take them into the list of files. Accessing the files with Teams is fine still, only an issue if you use SharePoint. I've tried this on a few other sites within our Tennant and it happens on our other sites too.Re: DLP and OneDrive Shorcuts
Seems to be the desktop app - If I open the word doc from sharepoint it will bring up the pop up to alert me - but if from the same sharepoint document library I select the word doc and then select the 'open in app' option, it will open the sharepoint file in the desktop app but no popup. I created a simple DLP in Purview as a test just to find a particular word and to block access to the document. Just as a test in sim mode for now. I can access the document from SharePoint and get a pop up notification which I set that tells me its contain this word. I can also access it from OneDrive online and get the popup. But if I use the OneDrive shorcut to SharePoint which opens the document In Word desktop I do not get any popup. The DLP policy is set for SharePoint and OneDrive. Will this not work for shorcuts. I have created labels, SIT's and have now got auto-labelling setup so that if I create a new document it will change the label from the default label to the new label after about 8-10 minutes which is great but.... I saw youtube videos where the document would instantly change when info was type in, or when someone would attach a document to an email that was a higher label. What have I missed to not get that working - all seems to work but not at the time. ThanksPurview Account
Just started using Purview and can see that data in my MS cloud has already been categorised and when I create new files they are categorised too. But I do not have a Purview Account - do I need one ? I do not see the Data Map menu despite reading articles about putting my account in various groups but now wandering if its because we do not have a Purview Account. If i created a new SIT I would have to go to each SharePoint site and have re-index it which I would prefer to have it done to all sites at once which I believe you can do in the Data Map which we cannot see.313Views0likes0CommentsNew Outlook not showing link urls

I've upgraded to pro teams license but even though i go into the admin centre and remove the standard teams license and assign the pro teams license, the Teams Admin Centre still shows standard. I've got 4TB of 'mixed' onprem data that doesn't fit into our various departmental SharePoint Team sites so was thinking of creating a SharePoint site with 30 odd libraries and assigning the various groups of users permissions to the specific Library. Just wandering if a comms site or teams site is best. My thoughts were a Comms site as we are only looking at storing files and folders not using any of the features of a SharePoint Teams site. Is there a way for the member list in SharePoint to be sorted ? If you have 50 to 100 users and someone wants to see who is a member of the site, they'd click on the top right where it says Members but if you have loads of users its not so good to find someone to know if they have access or quickly realise that someone has access that should not. I've noticed that a large amount of files have gone on our SharePoint system and I know there is meant to be a policy called called Unusual Volume of file deletion but cannot find it. I have seen links to it on the web but it just isn't in my alert policies. Could someone give me a link that works today, with the changes to portals I just want to be sure I can see it as it's meant to be a default policy and if I delete 200 files right now, I have no alerts either. I created a servicing profile for Monthly channel installs but it seems to have pulled in some people on Current Channel Preview and moved them to Monthly !! even though its not selected. What happens if you do not use the Servicing Profile. How do clients get updated to the latest version of M365 Apps - do they get a prompt and have to click to update ? Just wandering what benefits the servicing profile gives. Thanks
