Rebrand forcing email address change - what are my options?
Hi All, We are going through a rebrand and we will be branding ourselves with another company as the same business name, but we will both remain independent entities. The proposal was put forward that we both change our email addresses over to newbrand.com for example, but because we are both independent firms, with separate IT systems I told them this was not possible and we would both need subtle differences in the new rebrand email domains newbrand1 and newbrand2.com for example. Like I say, this is not a merger, we are 2 separate businesses but want to rebrand as looking like one entity. My question then is am I right thinking we can't have the same domain name - I don't see how it will work with email routing etc and this will in effect change all of our logins for 365 too. Any thoughts much appreciated.2.7KViews0likes4CommentsMalware protection for Teams links and attachments
Hi All, We have Teams configured so that we can accept messages from other domains, clients suppliers etc etc, however, I don't believe there is any protection on these conversations with external users, no checks on any URLs if they are dodgy or attachments checked for Malware. How do you protect your users using Teams to connect with external parties? We are on M365 E3 btw, we don't have the Microsoft Defender, we use a different 3rd party for Malware protection and Ransomware. Thanks Stuart1.4KViews0likes1CommentReplacing on premise Exchange server
Hi All, We have an old hybrid 2016 exchange server on O/S 2012, it only has the administrator mailbox on it and is used as a relay for our MFC and on-premise software (email notifications etc) - all users mail files are in the cloud. My thoughts are to build a 2019 sever, install exchange 2019 standard - don't see why we need hybrid, bog standard should be fine - then I will add the connectors to and from the cloud and simply migrate my MFC over to the new exchange server to relay messages and then remove the old exchange server. Does that sound about right? It sounds too simple to me! Any pointers much appreciated Stuart2.6KViews0likes1CommentRe: Do I need an Exchange hybrid server?
Hi Vasil - thanks for the reply and good point. So, whilst you here 😉 I understand I need a solution to route my internal comms to my M365 mailboxes, so I need something - should I simply build a Standard Exchange 2019 server to relay these emails ? Now I'm also wondering about licensing! Thanks1.7KViews0likes1CommentDo I need an Exchange hybrid server?
Hi All, This is my scenario. We have a Windows Server 2012 with Exchange installed in hybrid mode, version 15.1. I need to update the OS - so my initial thoughts are to build a new 2019 server and install Exchange 2019 on it. We use M365 - all our imail boxes are in the Microsoft cloud somewhere, we have no mailboxes on prem on the hyrbid server but for the Administrator account. We only use the on prem hybrid server to point our MFC fleet at an smtp server and some on prem software for notification emails as an example. So, do I actually need an on prem exchange server? Can I not simply re-configure my on prem copiers and software to point at my online SMTP presence? Would this screw something else up though - our consultants insist we need it but can't say exactly why and they have quoted me 11 days worth of consultancy to install a new 2019 exchange server, which seems like 10 days too much to me 😉 Any advice please? Hi All, We have created a conditional access policy to block all locations except for the UK where we are based. This appeared to be working fine and I could see all the failures in the sign-in log from US, RU etc however I noticed a few successful sign-ins from the US using the method PHS. I checked the IPs in whatsmyip.com and they were from the US. The user was definitely sat at home on this day, in the UK? How could this have occurred? I'm not sure if this a breach or a mis-configuration? TIA, StuartSolved992Views0likes1CommentIssue with RADIUS authentication for some users
Hi, We have an issue with a small number of users that are unable to authenticate via the Network Policy Server we have created in Windows Server 2016. We use this along with our Watchguard Firewall to authenticate staff on the SSL VPN with 2FA. This works fine for 99% of staff, we just have a couple of staff that are unable to connect, the NPS server just rejects them all of the time. We have multiple firewalls and multiple NPS servers (local to each site) and each acts the same - these couple of users are rejected. To explain in more detail this is what occurs. User logs into the VPN from their laptop the firewall is linked to our NPS service on Windows 2016 server user is a member of the group and is authenticated response is sent to the users phone via the azure 2fa app For the couple of users that cannot authenticate they are rejected at stage 2 - and we can see in the NPS logs that the names are displayed differently than the ones that can authenticate without any issue. We cannot see any difference in the user accounts in AD or Azure. The user accounts are not locked out, or expired or anything like that, using 2FA for Office 365 works fine for these users too. As you can see from this extract from our NPS logs the user Jim.Morrison can authenticate successfully but the user Cat.Stevens is unable to authenticate and the only difference we can tell is how the names are displayed in this log. Do you have any ideas how we can fix this and allow Cat to authenticate via NPS? Hi, We are just starting with InTune and using AutoPilot, however I see by default these new computers do not appear in the local, on prem Active Directory, so this means when staff rock up at the office, they login to their laptop but they are not on the domain so if they try and access a network share or a network app they are prompted to sign in, constantly in some casese! So, my question is this, we have a lot of legacy apps, we can't move fully to Azure just yet, we need staff working in the office on certain software, so do we make these new AutoPilot computers hybrid domain joined devices to get around this network prompt? Also, when we do this will it rename the computer account? I see it assigns a random 15 character code as the machine name, but it isn't clear if it actually renames the computer itself or just makes this a reference in AD? Any help much apprecited. RobElliott thanks for the response, we do this already but only for our support desk feedback forms, so do you create a new flow each time a survey is created and save to a separate SharePoint list? How do you keep up with all the new forms - we have folk creating content all the time - or is there a 'catch all' flow ? Thanks13KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Do Microsoft Forms get backed up to the cloud?
Hi, we use Barracuda O365 cloud to cloud backup and they told us recently there is no way to back up forms. So make sure any decent individual forms are transferred to group ownership and have users that are leaving export the results at the very least. I can't believe it but you do lose everything a user created in forms if you delete them 😞14KViews0likes4CommentsRe: Multiple Selection Booking
MaxSmith4 Hi, have you tried storing your results in a SharePoint list instead? We store most of our form data this way then we use PowerAutomate to send emails based on various conditions. As an example one form is filled in to create new companies in our system and based on the office question in the form it routes the answers to a different shared inbox each time. I'm not sure how you would limit the responses though. Sounds like an interesting challenge.1.8KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Please Help with Voting / Poll / Survey using Gifs
JayTea2040 we did something similar with a photo competition, we used Sway to present all the photos (about 30) then at the end of the Sway we had an embedded form to vote for your fave. It worked well for us, hope that helps.1.6KViews0likes1CommentRe: How to export data from multiple Forms to a single excel spreadsheet?
Hi Watefishy, This is the exact issue I have too and I joined this group to figure out how!? Did you manage to sort this? I was thinking of using a flow connector and squirt it into Excel online but still coming up against the one survey per export issue....9.9KViews0likes0Comments
