Re: Automate the force start in enterprise mode
I think you are using policy for old Edge browser, not new one. Thats why you can't find it there. New "Microsoft Edge" policies are right under "Administrative templates", not under "Windows components". If you will setup everything correctly in group policy, that site list xml will be read automatically by the browser. However update version number field after each change to that file, or browser may not read changes1.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: InsecureContentAllowedForUrls group policy doesn't works for IE mode
Kelly_Y Yes this one is also set, but it applies only if site being accessed via http, if I understand correctly. It is working for both IE mode and Edge. It shows gray i icon then: This is what I get if site is accessed using https (content contains iframe that is being loaded via http) with IE mode: The same page in Edge: That is the same page, I just changed site list to have it open in different modes to make these screenshots. I hade both of them showing "Not secure" before setting InsecureContentAllowedForUrls policy. Is there anything else that needs to be done for this warning in IE mode to go away?8.1KViews0likes0CommentsInsecureContentAllowedForUrls group policy doesn't works for IE mode
I have configured InsecureContentAllowedForUrls group policy. This seems to work correctly in Edge, but the same page opened in IE mode shows red "Insecure" alert in URL bar. Is there are way to hide that alert in IE mode?8.3KViews0likes2CommentsIE Mode stopped working on windows 7 after Edge update to 92.0.902.67
IE mode was working prior to 92.0.902.67. Pages that should open in IE mode show error and open in IE window. Nothing has changed in 92.0.902.73 either. This happens with all windows 7 (64bit and 32bit). There were reports that about issues with older windows 10 builds, that were working before, but that maybe solved by upgrading to latest builds. With windows 7 we don't have such option. You need to use group policy for that, If you want to test, you can add GP files locally or add settings directly to registry. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-policies You can start from these: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-policies#internetexplorerintegrationlevel https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-policies#internetexplorerintegrationsitelist And then go for other related to internet explorer integration.3.6KViews0likes2CommentsRe: IE mode support in windows 7
Kelly_Y Yes, I still have issues. On Windows 7 64bit IE Mode was working correctly. After upgrade to 88 it shows message about installing with administrative rights. The same now happens if I uninstall and install older versions. This first has happened with Windows 7 32bit Edge version 87.0.664.75. We have stopped upgrades. However that version was working correctly with 64bit windows. On 32bit machines we have installed 88.0.705.50 and that has fixed issue. Didn't tried to upgrade to more recent versions. But on 64bit 88 version breaks IE mode. Tried all 88 versions.1.6KViews0likes0CommentsIE mode support in windows 7
IE mode is no longer supported in windows 7 from version 88 ? IE Mode was working correctly with previous versions. However after installing v88 it has stopped working. That was expected at some version as we don't have extended security updates. However problem is that after rolling back to older version IE mode is not working either. Even tried v86 with no luck. How can we enable IE mode in previous edge versions if v88 was installed and uninstalled?1.7KViews0likes2CommentsRe: IE11 need for MS Edge compatability
IE11 is required to render sites that are displayed in IE Mode. You can remove all shortcuts to IE11 and make Edge default browser, so users will not be able to use in normal cases. If you are not planning on using IE mode, then IE11 is not required. More about IE mode: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/edge-ie-mode3.9KViews0likes4CommentsRe: IE mode risks
You can specify sites that needs IE mode, be it internal or external. If you already use them with IE, so risk stays the same with these sites. However all other sites will be opened with chromium. I think that has less risk than browsing whole internet with IE.2KViews1like0CommentsRe: IE to Edge 87+ redirection issues
Hi I guess these folks that require IE as default uses several websites (finite number) that works in IE only. I suggest you to explore IE mode feature of new edge. You will be able to add these websites to site list and you will no longer need to cope with these RedirectFromInternetExplorer policies19KViews0likes0CommentsMaximum number of entries in enterprise mode site list
Is there a limit of sites that can be configured in enterprise mode site list? How big site list will affect browser performance? We now have about 250 sites in site list and started wandering how big it can be. Couldn't find any documentation about that. Current domain policy is to open all intranet sites in IE mode and we are adding exceptions (i.e. urls to open in chromium tabs) to site list. At some point we will need to do opposite: to create site list only for resources that need to open in IE mode. But how big site list we can make?1.3KViews1like0CommentsRe: admx out of date for Edge Stable 85.0.564.68
Forcesync shows as available from v86: Supported versions: On Windows and macOS since 86 or later New policies are usually released with new version. You should check this document: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-relnote-stable-channel1.4KViews0likes1Comment
