Cannot add web part
Good morning. I am having a recurring issue that just started today. Intermittently, I cannot add web parts. When I click to add a new web part, nothing happens. The web parts window just stay open and the part is not added. If I log out and back in, I am able to add web parts, but after a few minutes, the same thing happens and I have to log out and back in to continue to edit my page. Needless to say this is extremely frustrating and is slowing me down bigtime. Is anyone else experiencing this, or know what is causing it?Frequent Failure to Load
I have created a SharePoint intranet site for my organization and have included around a dozen tutorial videos that I have embedded. For several hours in the mornings over the last few days, the embedded videos will not load, and when I go to microsoftstream.com, I am getting "The server encountered an error while searching for videos - please try again later". Embedded videos show "Failed to load this video, please try again" This literally started happening the day of our go-live, so it is extremely frustrating and making us look like we don't know what we are doing. It's ridiculous. I figured that I would have FEWER problems embedding using MS' own video service, not more. I shouldn't have to go start a Youtube channel in order to embed videos that will show up reliably. Can anyone advise if there is some fix for this?Search goes to page but not place in page?
I am working on an intranet site using SP modern communications pages. Our old site does not have search, so the search in SP is a huge selling point. We have built out a great deal of content and I am starting to test the search function. I am finding that when I search, I just get a list of documents / site pages that contain the word. When I select an item from the list, it just takes me to the top of the page containing the search word, not to the point in the page. Is this the limit of search functionality, or am I missing something. If I have a 90 page operations plan that used to be in PDF format that has been converted to a SP page and I search for a word only to be taken to the top of the page and have to search the page again using the browser, then I don't understand really what the point of the search in SP is. . . Someone please tell me I am an idiot and am missing something really basic. Thanks!Anchor links on hub page not going to anchor position on linked page
I have an HR communications site and have created a page that goes to the first chapter of a resource that resides on its own communications page. I have published the chapter page and have gone through and copied the anchor links. I have placed those links in a 'quick links' web part on the main page in a sort of directory. When clicked, the links take you to the resource page, but not to the correct anchor position within the page. On page refresh, the same link does, in fact, take you to the anchor. So to sum up, clicking an anchor from the directory takes you to the top of the page and then F5 gets it to load the correct anchor point. This is obviously not going to work for using a separate page as a directory, which is the requirement. Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix this? OK thanks. I have had some experience trying to get this to work in the past and as I recall I kept having issues with restricted content (like putting a Google search field on a page) - incidentally doing this with PowerApps is easy, but does not work with the iFrame. I have a PHP web application that I would like to size for embedding on a modern SP page. PowerApps would have worked for this but for the fact that the licensing structure for PA is totally unrealistic for an organization of our size on a per user basis. Is this possible, or am I out of luck (essentially having to put this on its own page with just a link on our SP page)? Thanks.Group calendar web part visible to entire organization
I would like to have a Group Calendar web part on a communications page that is visible to my entire organization, but only editable by a couple of users. This would contain dates for events that affect the entire org (pay cycles, holidays, board meetings, etc.). Is there a best practice here, or should I literally just create a group that has every member of the org as a member? I would imagine that this is a very common use case and I don't want to make it any more complicated than it needs to be. I deleted the stock links in the page navigation here (not the persistent hub navigation on top), and now the edit option is gone to add in other links. Can someone please point me in the right direction as to how I can get edit back so that I can put links up here? Thanks. A little more tooling around, and I am now experiencing the following. Same identical image and settings, including link in 3 tiles. the two on the left do not have shading, and the one on the upper right does. Have triple checked that all of the settings in the edit pane are identical. Are there hidden settings somewhere that I am not seeing? Thanks.
