O365 Mail Flow Rule
Hello, I have created a "mail flow" rule in O365 that basically says when an email is sent to the manager and the type of email is "Calendaring", forward the message to the secretary for approval. The mail flow rule is working perfectly, but the secretaries are complaining that they only have 2 days to approve the calendar invite. Meaning, if a calendar invite comes in late Friday or early Saturday they are going to miss it. Is there a way to extend the approval time on these calendar invites to the manager? I did see anywhere in the mail flow rule that would allow me to do that. ThanksDeleting emails for users inbox?
We had an obvious phishing email slip through own email filter and ended up in some of our users inbox. We are using O365 gov tenant for email. I have run a compliance search "phishingemail" and have found where the email went and also who forwarded the email to other users. My question is how do I permanently delete this phishing email from the users inbox? So far, I have used this powershell command: New-ComplianceSearchAction -SearchName "phishingemail" -Purge -PurgeType HardDelete The above command runs just fine and changes the name to "phishingemail_Purge". After that, I run the compliance search again to see if it pulls up any results and it still shows the same emails are there. It doesn't seem like I deleted any emails if I can still see the same emails again by running the search again. I read somewhere that running the above delete command moves the email into the users "purges" folder that is invisible to the user. Is that why I am pulling up the same emails after running the search command again? Any tips would be helpful731Views0likes0CommentsCalendar Invites message
Is there a way to have an auto reply or message to a user requesting a meeting with another user? Meaning, we would like to filter out the meeting request to a certain individual (Department Head) and send an auto reply or message back to the requester stating they need to contact the secretary first before scheduling a meeting with the Department Head. The secretary does have delegated rights on the Department Heads Calendar to add events. We want to create kind of like a check point so these meeting invites just don't start to flood the Departments Head Calendar. We are using Office365 for our email. I do have admin rights to the Exchange admin center. Thanks,945Views0likes2CommentsCovert users mailbox to shared mailbox?
We are running into a case where we are running out of licenses for user mailboxes. Because of this when a users is suspended pending an investigation we were pulling the license from their mailbox. Well, I found the hard way that after 30 days all emails are deleted. Once the users returns to work and I issue them a license to their mailbox again, they have an empty mailbox. Ooops! Would the solution to this be converting their mailbox into a shared mail, pull the license and convert back once they return again? Would that preserve the emails in the mailbox? The problem is the company doesn't want to purchase more licenses.Solved1.4KViews0likes2CommentsSame email addresses in Office 365 admin center
I have a weird question about why our company has two exact same email addresses in Office 365 admin center. One account is an "Active user" and the other is a Shared Mailbox." Both of these accounts have the same exact email address. Not that it matters, but I use one as a service account to "scan to email" on our multi-function printers. I need to authenticate to Office 365, so I use the "Active user" account one because it has a password. How in the world did I end up with 2 email addresses that are both exactly the same email addresses? Example Shared mailbox mailto:serv01@domain.com Active user mailto:serv01@domain.com Thanks,1.2KViews0likes3CommentsRemoving a group from a shared mailbox
A user has left our organization and that user's mailbox was converted into a "shared mailbox". Because the user was a member of the "sales" group now the shared mailbox is a member of sales as well. How can I remove the sales group from this shared mailbox? There is NO options in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Next time the groups will be removed before converting in to a shared mailbox...2.3KViews0likes1CommentRe: Creating a Department shared Calendar in Office 365?
I was kind of leaning toward "Groups". What would be the difference between a Shared Mailbox vs Groups? If I made a shared mailbox essentially I would be creating a user in Office 365 with a general name like "Purchasing" and then share that user's calendar out to all the users I want? Can you get granular with the permissions with a shared mailbox? Sorry if I'm getting detailed here.19KViews1like2CommentsRe: Creating a Department shared Calendar in Office 365?
Thanks for the great feed back BTW. What I am looking for is a way to share a department calendar with about 200 users. I would also appoint a few select people to be the ones to administer the calendar (add events, delete, etc...). I am thinking only 5 people would be the admins of this calendar. The rest would only need to view it. I want the calendar to just automatically show up in their office 365 outlook. Yes, the users also have smart phones as well. I would like to keep it as simple as possible so I thing Sharepoint & Teams is out. These people are like robots and don't really care about learning something new.19KViews1like4CommentsCreating a Department shared Calendar in Office 365?
Hello, I'm fairly new to Office 365. I have been asked my a department head to create a shared calendar that the whole department can use (view, edit, etc...). It seems like there are a couple of ways to do this, but I want to know the best way or what does Microsoft recommend? Do I create a group then add users/members to it or do I create a new mailbox then add users/members to it as well?20KViews1like10Comments
