Re: O365 Network Performance Tool - Advanced Tests - Not running against new version of Edge 44.17763.83
What I found is that a stock 1903 works just fine, but if you run enough Windows Updates, then 1903 breaks, I can't get it to work in 1909 at all. I was too busy to try to narrow it down further, but sure it happened "last month" (I think actually in October/November time frame).2.9KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Office 365 Network Onboarding Tool POC small update
PaulAndrew where there other reasons to remove this? I can imagine you are trying to come up with a new elegant way to share, but honestly, your previous link button was working very well. Sending screen shots seems like go over the top of trying to share.11KViews0likes5CommentsBug in the map display?
Just recently when I run the connectivity.office.com tool, no matter from which country I run it from, the map display as my egress location on the left hand side of Africa in the ocean. Is there a bug in the tool? I can't believe every country I'm in now reports I'm in the "Gulf of Guinea".1.3KViews0likes2CommentsNot sure if it's a "bug" in the output
I'm in a hotel in Singapore, just using straight Internet (no VPN, etc.) and I go to connectivity.office.com from Edge, everything seems to run just fine, but under "Office 365 Exchange Online service front door location", it lists it as Singapore with a "red X", while the "Optimal Office 365 Exchange Online service front door(s) for user location" is listed as: Chennai, India Malaysia Singapore Not sure if the "red x" is just a bug as I think connecting to the Singapore "front door" is the correct one given I'm physically in Singapore?1.2KViews0likes4CommentsRe: Does this tool do any analysis on if there's enough bandwidth for users?
PaulAndrew Thanks for the response. I would suggest you add some way or guidance as part of this, as your tool is really good from a "person" point of view, but from a "group" point of view, that's more common a problem to deal with from a company point of view.1.2KViews0likes0CommentsRe: "Locate Me" button not working and/or cannot manually enter in a location
PaulAndrew It's interesting. For the PC's that are working (where I can hit the button and the location comes up), I can type directly in the location field and a list of choices appear, but for the locations where the button does not work, no list of choices appear when I type in a location. I'm thinking it has to be some sort of bug I've discovered. Is there anyway I can "bypass" this field and just manual type in something without it doing a look up?2.3KViews0likes0CommentsRe: "Locate Me" button not working and/or cannot manually enter in a location
Yes, this is a puzzle to me, as when I begin typing into that field, I don't see the same thing as you where a list of locations show up. I don't understand what I need to do differently to get it to work. I've run this many times on virtual machines all through the world, but found just a few of the machines, I can't do anything with the location (and therefore can't run the advanced tests)2.3KViews0likes0CommentsDoes this tool do any analysis on if there's enough bandwidth for users?
For example, if I could input in a value for number of users at a location, could it tell me if it thought there was enough bandwidth available for that number of users? For individual Internet connections, I really love this tool and thank you for creating something so useful!1.2KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Office 365 Network Onboarding Tool POC small update
Where ever I run your tool successfully, I always get this error: URL needs unblocking: *.broadcast.skype.com Test FQDN(s) used were: sched-uk.broadcast.skype.com But when I try to do a DNS lookup of "sched-uk.broadcast.skype.com", it doesn't exist, is this an invalid address?12KViews0likes4CommentsRe: "Locate Me" button not working and/or cannot manually enter in a location
PaulAndrew I've definitely clicked on the button to allow it. I repeated the test by going to the "newer" https://connectivity.office.com and the "older" https://o365networkonboarding.azurewebsites.net, so going to each site, I got the prompt to allow the location. As I mentioned previously, if I use Chrome, the location comes up relatively immediately (although it doesn't seem to be correct). I was desperate, so I even installed the beta version of the new Edge, same result (I was thinking that since it's more like Chrome, and Chrome "worked" for this, maybe it was some other bug I discovered. I also thought there was a way to manually enter in a location in that field, is this not the case?2.4KViews0likes3Comments"Locate Me" button not working and/or cannot manually enter in a location
I've come across several locations for when I click on the "Locate Me" button to determine the location, nothing ever returns, it just sits there spinning. I've done this both under Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer. When I use Chrome, and click on the "Locate Me" button, it returns relatively immediately, but obviously I cannot use the Advanced tools, etc. Is this a known bug? Any work around? I was thinking if I could manually enter in a location that would do, but whenever I type in a location, it doesn't seem to accept it.2.5KViews0likes5Comments
