Library View of Files Stored in Folders
I have a document library containing several folders, one of which is Job Descriptions. In the Job Descriptions folder, we have a list of all company job descriptions. The job description documents are PDF'd and the naming convention used for the job description is all lower case separated by dashes. We also have a column called DisplayName which shows the file in a more friendly name. For example: executive-assistant-to-the-director.pdf would be the name of the file, but the Display name is Executive Assistant to the Director.pdf. We would like to add a document library webpart to a SharePoint page, have it filter the document library, selecting the Job Description folder. What would be displayed to the page visitors is a list of all the folders and when they select a folder they would see the Display Name, in which they can click and open the PDF. I must be missing something in my View of the document library as if I show the Display Name and not show the Name of the file, then the folder name is reviewed too. Any ideas?144Views0likes2CommentsStock images -- insert or change not working
We are a GCC cloud client. Starting Tuesday, we are no longer able to add images or change images while accessing from the Stock Images option. When we click stock images, the app sits and spins and then throws an error "Your search didn't match any content. Please try another term". Does matter what the term is, it doesn't resolve. Prior to this, when clicking stock images, the window would open with images where we could then filter, etc. Now nothing will show not matter what. I am a SharePoint admin, we have also tried with Site owners and on different browsers with cache cleared. We did submit a ticket with MS, but response has been slow. Anyone else experiencing this?172Views1like3CommentsRe: Web Content toggle is now missing
Looks like that may need to be handled in policy management in M365 Apps admin center (need permission to access). Create Name your policy and give it a description Set the scope for all users or specified users Enter "copilot" in your search criteria to find the policy "Allow web search in Copilot", and click to select Review and publish your policy Wait for a synch.197Views0likes0CommentsRe: Power Automate - when a form is submitted: Other choice text
Thank you for your reply, but the "other" column in the MS Form, really isn't "Other". It indicates that in the text field where you would type your "other" response value. So if I had a list of options that was Red, Blue, Green, and then the last choice option was "other" I would type in my response. My text of the response wouldn't be other, it would be something like "Yellow". So a condition on "other" would never pass unless someone actually entered "other". I was able to get around it by not using the "other" choice column that the form suggested but entered a real Option call Other. Then I did branching on the question and if the person picked Other, a new question was asked having them type in what their other option is. I can then use the logic you noted above!602Views0likes0CommentsPower Automate - when a form is submitted: Other choice text
I have a flow that will write details from a form when submitted. One question in the form is a choice field with an "other" option where they can enter text for the other option. I would like the flow to write "Other" as the choice column value in the SharePoint list and then take what they type in the form for the other text to be written to another SharePoint list column as the text of the other option. This will keep the column formatting on the list view consistent for the values in the choice column. Any ideas?1.2KViews1like3CommentsFilter, Sort and Print SharePoint Lists
We are a service organization that has many divisions. Each division has a word document with a list resources. Many of the resources overlap. In an effort to reduce the many, many Word documents, we would like to create a list in SharePoint. The list would include the name of the resource, the area of help like "General", "Crisis", "Counseling", the name of the division who is responsible for the resource, and other fields like email, website, phone numbers, etc. Our hope is to have one list with resources from our entire organization. We would like folks searching the list to filter by the type of resource, city and the like. Then with filtered results, we would like to print a branded report so that we may give or send to a citizen that may wish to seek these service options. How could Power Automate take the filtered list the user requested at the list level, and print it in a formatted report?Filter, Sort and Print Lists

I have a SharePoint list whose entries are different service areas like counseling contacts, school nurse contacts, police contacts, etc. Is there a way that a person can filter the SharePoint list then click a PowerAutomate flow to have it print the contents of the filtered list to say -- a PDF?Library Permissions
I want to create a library in a department's communication site. The library will contain time study documents where I want folks in Finance to be able to add, delete and download documents from. They will need to be able to add and delete folders in the document library as well as we keep track of two years worth of files in this library -- one for the current year and one for prior. The others in the department's communication site will need to be able to edit the documents in the library, but not have the ability to add more documents or delete any of the documents. Would I need to create my own permission group or can I use a standard permission level to accommodate these two options?Lookup column in SharePoint lists - Hub and Associated sites
I have a hub site and a few associated sites. One of the associated sites has a list of projects. On the hub site I have a list where I would like to include one column that is a look up to the list of projects, living on the associated site. Is that possible? I know it is possible if the lists live in the same site, but what about hub and associated sites?380Views0likes1CommentTeams Town Hall - Missing Q&A
We are testing the Town Hall feature of Teams in replacement of Live Events. We are GCC licensed and not finding the Q&A option -- either before the meeting starts or after the meeting has started. The option is just not there. We have Q&A turned on in the meetings policy in Teams and it works when we are in Live Events. I found a post that said Viva Engage is needed and then I found another post that said GCC doesn't have Q&A in Town Hall. Any idea? In addition, when we end a Town Hall by going to Leave/End Event, the attendee view shows a blank screen with text that reads something like "The host has turned off their camera". The event doesn't end until the organizer quits Teams. Any idea on this one?898Views0likes1CommentGuests are no longer able to access SharePoint site
Previously we required guests that receive an invitation to our SharePoint site to create a free Microsoft account and then accept the invitation. Recently we have found folks that have a Google account are able to accept the invitation and can access our site with a one-time passcode. Those that are doing that, are losing access periodically and it is become a nightmare to assess. They receive a message that "We couldn't find your account" or no account exists. We see them in our AD as a guest, they are permissioned to the SharePoint site, but continue to get an error. Only when we remove them entirely from our tenant, have them create a free Microsoft account and then accept the invitation will they have consistent access without errors. Did Microsoft make a change lately that is causing this disruption? Any ideas on how we can mitigate it?545Views0likes0CommentsAvatars
I am looking to enable the option to use Avatars in Teams for our organization and wanted to set up a policy where a few people can test by having access to the Avatar app. When I go to apps and search, I don't even see the Avatar app in our instance - whether blocked or not. We are a GCC client. Is it not available to us? Or do you have advice on how to find it?628Views2likes0CommentsSharePoint list column validation - if status is a certain value, require a date in another column
I have an Asset SharePoint list that has a status column. The column values are Active, Sold, Disposed. If the status is Sold or Disposed, I want the date column "Out of Service" to be required. I tried entering this into the Validation Setting, but I keep getting the "Sorry., something went wrong.." message. =IF(AND(OR([Status]="Sold",[Status]="Disposed"),ISBLANK([OutOfService]),TRUE,TRUE),FALSE) Obviously, I have the statement incorrect. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!Solved8.1KViews0likes5CommentsRe: JSON Sharepoint List Action Button - update to today's date
Unfortunately, utcNow() doesn't work! I am not inclined to kick off a Power Automate from the button as it would require the user to perform a few clicks. I do have a Power Automate that runs on a trigger when the status changes, based on a trigger, so I will add that field update to that flow instead of trying to change it with a setValue as it clearly doesn't work for a date field.2.2KViews0likes0CommentsJSON Sharepoint List Action Button - update to today's date
I have a SharePoint list with a column button. When the button is pressed, based on other conditions, I want to update a SharePoint column (internal name SuspendEndDate) to the current date. SuspendEndDate is a date/Time column formatted as DateOnly, Standard format. My format action on the button looks like this. What am I missing on the setValue for SuspendEndDate? Currently the column is not updating at all! { "$schema": "https://developer.microsoft.com/json-schemas/sp/v2/column-formatting.schema.json", "elmType": "button", "txtContent": "=if([$Status]=='Rejected','Resubmit',if([$Status]=='Suspend','Reinstate',''))", "customRowAction": { "action": "setValue", "actionInput": { "Status": "=if([$Status]=='Rejected','Resubmit',if([$Status]=='Suspend','Reinstate',''))", "SuspendEndDate": "=if([$Status]=='Suspend',@now,'')" } }, "style": { "border": "none", "background-color": "=if([$Status]=='Rejected','#A4262C',if([$Status]=='Suspend','#a68cf6',''))", "color": "#ffffff", "cursor": "pointer", "visibility": "=if([$Status]=='Rejected','visible',if([$Status]=='Suspend','visible','hidden'))" } }2.5KViews0likes2CommentsConditional format DOB + three years
I have a SharePoint list that contains a DOB column. Folks added to list receive services until they age out at 3 years old. I would like to conditionally format the DOB column to show 'red' if it their DOB + 3 years is greater than today (now). Even better to conditionally format it if the DOB + 3 years is within 3 months from now, to show as yellow. In other words, I would like to make the DOB red if today is greater or equal to their DOB + 3 years. I would also like to make the DOB yellow if today is within 3 months of reaching their 3rd birthday. This will help indicate those approaching their 3rd birthday as well as those that should age out an no longer be available for services.363Views0likes0Comments
