What happened to the tools for developers?
Bing used to have really awesome tools for developers in search. There was a color-picker, an ascii table, and even the ability to find and run commonly searched code snippets on the results page. I found the ascii table helpful and used to use it a lot since I have a tough time remembering the ascii codes. It's been a while since I used the code snippet feature, but it was extremely useful for me a few years back when I was getting into computer science at school. I'm providing links at the end of this post to the articles that show these features and what they were. Hopefully, a few of them will come back. https://techcrunch.com/2016/04/07/microsoft-and-hackerrank-bring-executable-code-snippets-to-bings-search-results-pages/ https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/research/blog/bing-code-search-makes-developers-more-productive/1KViews1like2CommentsRe: Roadmap for PDF reader in Microsoft Edge
Will pressure sensitive inking make its way back to Microsoft Edge? I used it a lot on Legacy Edge in PDF's while on my Surface Pro and found it so useful. I hate that I have to choose the stroke width and it stays constant the entire time. A constant stroke width may be good for highlighting but when actually writing on a document with a pen it isn't the same.5.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Top Feedback Summary for May 12
I really hope that Read Aloud support for PDF's will be changed to Planned for Summer. This is one feature that keeps me from making the complete transition to the new version of Edge. I need this for reading PDF files that are shared to me in some of my classes.5.5KViews1like0CommentsRe: Top Feedback Summary for April 21
Is there any word on when we can expect read-aloud on PDF files? I could really use this because all my school work is online now and my professors make a lot of PDF's. It's really annoying having to use two versions of Edge since legacy Edge no longer has an icon that shows up on my taskbar.6.7KViews1like1CommentRe: Top feedback summary for November 14
I don't think google login should be added to the browser. Google Chrome uses Google accounts. Firefox uses Mozilla accounts. Microsoft should stick to their own accounts. If more elements from Fluent Design are going to be added to the browser I that more squared off tabs is a must. It would look better and on touch screens it would be a lot nicer when moving tabs.12KViews8likes0CommentsRe: Inking on Web Pages - Discussion
Elliot Kirk I used all the features for web ink on the current version of Edge. It helped me highlight and underline webpages for some homework assignments. I didn't need to print out the paper because of the web inking abilities. I didn't use comments too much but I know it is a feature many people used. I liked that I could favorite my web notes or save them to OneNote. I also used the feature to quickly annotate something on a page to share with someone else over email or chat. I know that Snip & Sketch offers that ability but that app doesn't let you scroll up and down a web page and use ink on the page. That was a big advantage. I was very disappointed that inking was put on the backlog and is now being re-evaluated. If all of the web ink abilities from the current version of edge came to the new version of edge I would be extremely happy.13KViews4likes1Comment
