Re: Is there a great teaser video for a customer about to embark on their M365 journey to the cloud?
HelloBenTeoh - a 30,000 foot view of the cool functionality coming to the users by adopting the MSFT cloud and apps. 2-3 minutes on new functionality, better interface (SPO), easier collaboration, etc.1KViews0likes2CommentsIs there a great teaser video for a customer about to embark on their M365 journey to the cloud?
I think it used to be http://aka.ms/teaservideo but that is a dead URL. I'd like to reuse one already make instead of spending the $$ to make a custom one. This would be to build hype/buzz about the upcoming rollout. Thx.Solved1.1KViews0likes4CommentsSearching OneDrive files for content in File Explorer when files in "Online Only" mode
I have a PowerPoint file in OneDrive, and in OneDrive via browser, I can search for content within the files and find the needed file. In File Explorer, I search OneDrive for same content and get no results. 95% of my files are Files On-Demand, so they are Online only and dehydrated. I thought using Win11 with Cloud content search enabled, I would see all my local and cloud results even when searching by content and not file name. Am I missing something? Running Win11 21H2, and M365 Apps v23055.2KViews1like1CommentTeams recording with PowerPoint Live and Standout mode - not capturing
Is PowerPoint Live with Standout mode out of public preview? I see there was a known limitation that recording will not capture standout mode (http://Teams%20Recording will not capture the standout video.). Has this been resolved? When recording, standout mode looks great, but upon playing back the recording, I see this tiny video in lower right instead of overlaying the presentation. Will that be fixed in near future?1.3KViews0likes1CommentOneDrive, Folder Redirection, .PST files, and PC Folder Backup
I was prepared to leverage PC folder backup to move user files from personal Z-drive to OneDrive but I've run into an issue... If I turn on PC folder backup, it will look at the existing folder redirection, MOVE the file from Z-drive to C:\users\username\OneDrive - xxx folder, THEN skip the .pst file from sync. The problem is Outlook is now broken because it cannot find the attached .pst file because it was moved. This is a great solution, now held captive by !@# .pst files (scheduled for 2022 demise internally). I just didn't want to wait for later in 2022 to get the files moved into OneDrive.2KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Default version limit
ThierryB - You can go in and look at your OneDrive document library and verify it's 500 versions. Keep in mind with differential sync and the way files are saved in the cloud, the space required is not 500x the original file size. Versioning is needed for autosave and co-authoring capabilities.37KViews1like1CommentRe: OneDrive Known Folders with other redirects
Peter Holdridge - Google "OneDrive cross volume move". That's the name of the feature. It was announced in 2019, so it's been out long enough that it's no longer on the roadmap. It's mentioned in this article https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-onedrive-blog/top-5-tips-for-efficiently-deploying-and-configuring-onedrive/ba-p/9131885.7KViews0likes0CommentsRe: OneDrive Known Folders with other redirects
Diogo, it's been around for 6-12 months at this point. The OneDrive feature is called "cross volume moves" - you can see it here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-onedrive-blog/top-5-tips-for-efficiently-deploying-and-configuring-onedrive/ba-p/913188 and this article https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/redirect-known-folders (at bottom) refers to steps to take to implement.6KViews1like3CommentsRe: OneDrive Known Folders with other redirects
The newer versions of the OneDrive sync client will leverage KFM to migrate the files from the existing redirected UNC path and get the files to the cloud. It will also override the folder redirection back to the c: user\OneDrive folder6KViews0likes5CommentsRe: one drive syncing is too much slow
becker666 - I can't figure out why people have this issue. Keep in mind the 64-bit OneDrive sync client is coming to public preview in March and generally available in April. See https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=OneDrive%2C64-bit22KViews0likes1CommentRe: one drive syncing is too much slow
Emil_B - hmmm, you have the https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/onedrive-release-notes-845dcf18-f921-435e-bf28-4e24b95e5fc0#ID0EACAAA=Mac. A couple other things to consider... Are you syncing thousands of files? MSFT recommends less than 300K limit, but I've seen lots of churn and struggle with over 50K files as it checks statuses. I've set up hundreds of thousands of customer users with hundreds of millions of files without issue, but I can't say the Mac experience has been flawless. I'd raise an issue w/ MSFT and have them help troubleshoot it. Also watch the OneDrive app and see which files it's using/testing/copying to see if that is giving insight.168KViews0likes2CommentsRe: one drive syncing is too much slow
Emil_B - are you using a current version of the sync client? Some of the older versions had performance issues. You can try unchecking some folder for sync performance testing. I run sync all day long on my home with 3 Mb down, and 1 Mb up (world's slowest connection). Keep troubleshooting.169KViews0likes4CommentsTeams file sharing observation and question
I've noticed if I share a file with someone in Teams/OneDrive/SPO, and then I move or rename the file, the sharing still works IFF I open it in the browser or Teams. If I try to open it in ProPlus client (1908 - 11929-20946), I get an error it can't find the file. Is this a bug or a feature? Does it work in newer build of ProPlus? 🙂737Views1like0Comments
