Re: New Outlook and deleted items
rharrelson - Tried it out myself and there are a number of things missing. Agree, doesn't seem to Deleted folder, doesn't empty Deleted on exit. Cant handle Tasks on any additional accounts added and I couldn't get it to handle .pdfs properly when included in an email! I've gone back to the old version!1.2KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Onenote copy/cut paste ink drawings are unproportional
amirlahooti - long winded but you could try copying or saving the picture in to Microsoft Paint. Then resize in Paint, save as a jpeg or gif and then put it back in to OneNote. Alternatively, use the snipping tool (Windows key/Shift/s), draw around the picture to clip it. Open a blank PowerPoint slide, paste the clipped picture in to the slide and then resize. Then clip resized image and paste back in to OneNote. As a sidebar, this is a good way of getting multiple pictures together in a horizontal view. OneNote likes pictures to go one below the other!1.8KViews0likes0CommentsOffice 365, Microsoft Office 2016 working on Lumia 950
I've had a Business Essentials account for a while now but never been able edit/save any Office documents hosted on my OneDrive for Business/SharePoint site on my Lumia 950 mobile because i didnt have an Office subscription. I added Office to my subscription this week, have registered my new tablet and can use Office 2016 there with no issues. Also downloaded Office 2016 to my laptop fine but my Lumia 950 still tells me I need to purchase Office to be able to edit any files. If I select thecdrop down in Excel mobile for example it just gives me the opportunity to purchase a monthly or annual plan. There's no option anywhere on the phone that allows me to log in or link the Office apps to my license. Sadly, cant go to my admin as I'm a one man band/single user so I am the admin. Anyone come across this issue on Windows 10 Mobile & know how to resolve please?1.6KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Help
I don't think that Forms will give you the option to embed a .pdf file in to the form and it doesn't look like you can include a URL in your Form to link to your .pdf externally (I just tried). One thought. You seem to be suggesting that you want the .pdf filled in by your subcontractors so could you not replicate the .pdf form in Forms and let them fill in your form and a Form's version of your .pdf questionnaire? Keep them separate (i.e. 2 forms) if you want the data in separate spreadsheets.1.5KViews1like3CommentsRe: Help!!
JodiGloss - I have an Android phone with Google Photos. I take a picture on the phone, it gets backed up to google.photos (Cloud Storage) on the web. If I delete a photo on my phone it gets deleted from google.photos. in other words the 2 are in sync. I assume that with Samsung you can back up to either Google or Samsung cloud storage so probably have this in operation already. I also have the OneDrive app installed on my phone and its set up to back up photos too. I therefore get 2 back ups, one to Google, one to OneDrive. However, with OneDrive, if a photo is deleted on the phone it ISNT deleted from OneDrive. So, for you to replicate this, go to OneDrive, tap on 'Me' (bottom right), select 'Settings' and turn 'Camera upload' to 'On'. OneDrive will then back up any photo you take automatically, just as it does with Google (& I assume Samsung). If you then go to onedrive.com and log in, you should see a Pictures/Camera Roll folder where you photos will be sent. Hope this helps.895Views0likes0CommentsRe: Microsoft Teams Launches Chat with Self Feature
Would be good if this worked. I have Teams on Win 10 & 11 machines. On both I can enter my name, I get the 'Chat with Self' page which then immediately disappears and drops back to the last chat I had open! Oddly, my phone app now has 'Chat with Self' entry. Just a pity it doesn't work where its meant to! Anyone know if there's a fix plse?37KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Setting up rules on Outlook for Android for outgoing messages
Couple of resources that may help. First is how to set up rules (apologies if you already know this) https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/manage-email-messages-by-using-rules-c24f5dea-9465-4df4-ad17-a50704d66c59 and if that doesn't work you could try a Power Automate Flow. The template is here https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/manage-email-messages-by-using-rules-c24f5dea-9465-4df4-ad17-a50704d66c591.7KViews0likes1CommentRe: Which app should I use?
Microsoft 'Lists' comes to mind or you could try embracing 'Loop Components'. They're in their infancy right now but If you're using Teams then Loop allows lists and those lists can be shared in Teams. In fact, once created, a Loop (that starts in Teams) can be shared via its URL etc. and open as an editable page in your browser. Take a look at: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/first-things-to-know-about-loop-components-ee2a584b-5785-4dd6-8a2d-956131a29c81 And this YouTube Video may help: https://youtu.be/OjShmC6Y_is1.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: enquiry on microsoft outlook app window 10
cheah1740 - If you look at your list of apps (in Win 10 or 11) you'll see you have 'Mail' & 'Calendar' listed. If you open 'Mail' it opens a pre loaded (not web) app that you can use for your email and is based on Outlook. It has a menu, bottom left for Calendar, Contacts & Tasks, just as the Outlook Desktop does. Click on any of these and the app opens. They are 3 separate apps built in to Windows and the three offer similar functionality to Outlook Desktop. Later this year the new Outlook (Project Monarch) should get released for general use. It can be downloaded now but you need an Office365 account to use it (which rules you out at the moment) but once released fully it will a) be downloadable and b) as close to Outlook Desktop as you'll get. This article give you details: Microsoft's new Outlook email client is live (at least for now) | ZDNet1.8KViews0likes1CommentRe: enquiry on microsoft outlook app window 10
cheah1740 - so it's the Outlook Desktop app, which is bundled with their Office product set, now known as Office365. That's the one version that isn't free and would need an O365 subscription or by buying Microsoft Office as a one off (which is more expensive). If you only need one copy you might find it cheaper on ebay but it's an enterprise product hence the cost. Suggest you use the free versions of Outlook, Calendar and ToDo. These 3 together have the equivalent of the desktop functionality, albeit cut down.1.8KViews0likes3CommentsRe: How Microsoft Loop can be used in Microsoft Teams at present?
tom_s1865 - Loop in Teams is limited but works. To create a Loop start a 'chat' and select the Loop icon below the empty chat. This will expand out to show the Loop options (Bulleted List/Check List/Paragraph/Table etc.). Create your Loop and give it a name. At this point you dont need to send it anywhere (but add names to the chat to share it with others) because once named, if you go to office.com you'll see your Loop listed as a recent document/file. If you select it in Office365 it will open as a full editable page. Up to you to decide what 'use cases' you can apply. Hi, Looking for some assistance with Office Apps on Android Phone (Pixel 3) please. All of a sudden apps such as PowerPoint, Power Apps, Power BI & Word etc., when opening them, are asking for a password to log in (despite normally being constantly logged in). Once I log in, the app works fine but within 30 minutes of the log in I get notifications from Outlook Mobile telling me to "Log In" & I have to then open Outlook and select the "Log In" banner it presents at the bottom of the screen. Pop up disappears and Outlook is then stable again until I open up an Office365 app. 30 minutes later, rinse repeat. Have checked the account with Office365 provider who says nothing odd on the account and the apps work fine on another phone & on my PC etc. (so suspect its the phone in someway). The only change that has occurred on the phone is Microsoft Flow has stopped working. Flow acknowledge an issue with MAM Policy (???) stopping it from working and a fix is in the works but they also claim this issue has nothing to do with my account problems. Anyone encountered anything similar or have any suggestions on a fix please. Thanks Allan(New) Office365 App on Android
Anyone seen any issues with the new Office365 App on Android. I have 2 accounts attached, my Office365 Business account and my @outlook account. Suddenly having issued opening Excel & PowerPoint files from the business account or seeing & opening files in the (Business) OneDrive folders (in the app) when using Wi-Fi. If I drop back to mobile data all works fine and my @outlook account files work on both mobile & Wi-Fi data! Oddly, MS Word files are fine even over Wi-Fi so a real odd scenario. Sadly, happens across 2 separate phones and I've also noticed that both phones struggle to open .xlsx file from the native Excel for Android app too. Have uninstalled the app on one phone but makes no difference. Same files can be opened over Wi-Fi on both of my laptops so issue is linked to Mobile App/Wi-Fi/Office365 in some way. Anyone seen anything similar or have a clue on what might be going on here please? TIA AllanSolved
