Project for the Web (P4tW) and task assignments.
First of all, this is a question about Project for the Web (P4tW). We are looking at using this more and more in our environment as it has tight connections to other MSFT apps. What we want to do is use P4tW in a way that when someone is assigned to a task, it automatically sends that to the person's MSFT To-Do. We're heavy users of To-Do. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this unless you go into the Dataverse and use a connector there. We've looked at trying to use Power Automate, but that requires the root site URL and P4tW doesn't use that. Is this just something simply out of the realm for normal users to do? Should we bite the bullet and look to upgrade to MSFP Project P1? It's frustrating that this basic level of data and task management isn't available in P4tW. Thanks in advance.858Views0likes1CommentPower Automate a flow based on Forms submittal
Hello, I'm trying to automate some workflow based on a Forms submittal. I'm trying to use Power Automate, but not sure where to start. How do I get to the back-end spreadsheet where the responses are stored? How do I build a Power Automate flow, if I can't get to the responses? Thanks!12KViews0likes9CommentsSome missing features.
Please move this to the appropriate location. In the new Preview, as of 5/17/23, there's no way to "@Everyone" in a chat. This is a very important feature, and I don't know why/how this was missed. Also, in Activity, there's no way to set it to show Unread activity unless you manually set it... every... time... Again, very useful feature that is not in the Preview. Please make sure these get added SOON! Thank you.Re: Is the ability to search transcriptions, to find the actual time instant of the match, coming?
This was without a doubt one of the most USEFUL features of Stream and recording meetings. Why this was NOT implemented in the new version, I don't understand. Looks like the roadmap says it will be available in Feb of 2023. Please make this a priority. Having to download the transcript and THEN find the word's time stamp and THEN go to the video is alot more work!1KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Battling app sprawl
Hmm... Will take a look at Defender. We use it for Endpoints, wasn't aware we could use it for cloud apps as well. That will help, but the other part of that is the education to our staff to look at the MS ecosystem for a solution before going out and shopping for something else. I think that's a whole different strategy.1.9KViews2likes1CommentBattling app sprawl
Yes, I know there are controls to prevent new apps from being used in an org. We use them. We are finding more and more though, that people are looking for alternatives to Teams for doing various things. When we look at the use-cases and what they are looking to add, pretty much all the time, Teams can still meet their needs. We have tried doing education and hands-on to show people what Teams can do. We have stated over and over it's not just a matter of app capability but of security and privacy; we can much more closely safeguard the data when its in the O365 ecosystem. We have done the work to show Teams abilities and a business case for data security, privacy and governance, yet people still persist to add new apps to the environment. One example is Asana. We've used it and honestly, it does the SAME exact things Teams does in connection with Planner and Outlook. Does it come down to an education issue? "Look, you can do all the same things in Asana as you can in Teams AND we can better secure the data." Anyone have any advice? Thanks.SolvedConsidering changing spam filter
Hello, new to Defender. We currently have a spam filter that filters all inbound and outbound email. We're thinking about dropping it and going with EOP. I'm assuming many here have gone that route already. How was the experience? How is it working for you now? Were/Are there many false positives? Heaven forbid, but does anyone find the MS product LESS capable than a Mimecast, Proofpoint, Barracuda, or SpamTitan type service? Thanks!Sending a chat to To-do or Planner
Hey all, does any one have a way to take a chat message and turn it into a To-do or Planner Task? This seems like a no-brainer, but right now, it's a pretty convoluted process. Is there a 3rd party app or some other way to do this? Thanks in advance!1.5KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Power Automate a flow based on Forms submittal
RobElliottThanks! I figured out how to get to the Form responses. I have it emailing me when I get a response, but trying to figure out how to pull info from the response and work with it and forward it to different recipients. I need to do some conditional routing based on the responses in a specific field. The responses are entered from a list of choices in the form so it will be a known list. Having it pull the submitter's email and sending them a reply would be awesome as well!12KViews0likes3CommentsLooking to get started with bots
Hello. Looking to get started with Teams bot that will let our users chat in IT Help Desk requests. The bot should be able to connect to a 3rd party data source to be able to get ticket status and that's about it. Not looking for a full AI to help them solve problems. Just chat with bot to create a ticket and get ticket status. Where should we start for that? Thanks!Solved1.2KViews0likes2CommentsSending a meeting invite AS the team itself.
Have a request to be able to send a meeting invite AS the team itself. Haven't been asked that before, and I think it is coming from someone who is still thinking in the Outlook perspective. They don't want to be listed as the sender or organizer of the meeting. Rather, they want the team itself to be listed as the organizer. I'm trying to think about how this would be done...1.2KViews0likes1Comment
