Re: Request Files announcement
StephenRiceSorry, you missed my point. I was responding to your question 'if you could enable only the Request Files link (e.g. you can get an anonymous upload only link but not an anonymous view or edit link), would this be something you could take advantage of?' We haveAnonymous/Anyone Links disabled at the tenant level but we really like to have the Request Files link working!10KViews0likes7CommentsRe: Outlook Meeting Updates Going Directly to Deleted Items
HiTonyRedmond, it really depends on the setting and if individual users have different requirements. Let's take the very useful feature of Quiet Hours in the Outlook mobile client. What if we would apply the same principal and have the service decide if and what hours will be applied? It would be much more efficient from a Microsoft perspective but for most users becomes useless at best.111KViews1like1CommentRe: Outlook Meeting Updates Going Directly to Deleted Items
HiTonyRedmond, well written article as always. There is not much to disagree for me in your article but I do disagree with the change Microsoft made to put the control with the admins instead of the users. Especially because the settings are already there in Outlook and Outlook on the Web and as you indicated the desired behavior can be different from person to person. I also like the fact that these updates are automatically deleted but there are many other users who really do not like this and are impacted by the change. The good thing is that I now can send out a calendar invite with no agenda and directly after that send out an update asking a lot of preparation for the meeting and then get angry in the meeting nobody prepared for the meeting .112KViews7likes4CommentsRe: Request Files announcement
StephenRice, I am hoping you have some plans to make more granular permission levels because otherwise this feature is pretty useless. We do not allow sharing our files anonymously with external participants. We need to protect our data. The protection around receiving files is of course quite different and it would be beneficial to be able to set that we can request files to be uploaded anonymously while at the same time our data can only be shared with named users.11KViews1like17CommentsOutlook Meeting Updates Going Directly to Deleted Items
Microsoft made in change in how meeting updates are handled and smaller updates are now going directly to the Deleted items folder. This caused people to miss important updates to agenda items. I am wondering if other people also receive complaints about this? To me it seems strange that such a setting cannot be controlled by individual Outlook settings as there are settings for this already in place. Is Microsoft considering to allow this behavior to be controlled by the Outlook/Outlook on the web settings as an improvement over the current situation? So now that Yammer and Whiteboard can store data in Europe it is time for FindTime to offerlocal data residency to help meet data residency requirements. Any updates on this? Finally good news on this topic! Here is a fresh update from Microsoft: For all Office 365 tenants with Whiteboard located in Europe Microsoft Whiteboard now automatically stores all whiteboard content in a regional datacenter for customers located in Europe, for all content created as of June 4, 2019. Previously created whiteboards will be migrated over the next few months. No action is required. https://support.office.com/en-us/article/important-updates-to-microsoft-whiteboard-66f02bc5-556c-4dc1-8dce-562f8b03473d?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US53KViews1like2CommentsRe: Sharing with partners and external users

I have not seen this feature appear but I also do not know where to look as no documentation seems to have been prepared. The only thing I keep seeing in the articles is 'Deem specificsitesas “organizational news sources” 'but where to do that? I assume somewhere in the new SharePoint Admin center but not sure if this would be a specific section or just an option in the site collection settings?4.3KViews0likes3CommentsCustom theme and new Outlook on the Web experience
Hi, we just received the new experience for Outlook on the Web and it wiped out our corporate custom theme as well. Even worse, if you prevent users from overriding the custom theming with their own theme, this setting is ignored in the new experience for Outlook on the Web and it opens up all the cat and robot themes to be selected. This of course triggers the question what the plans from Microsoft are related to custom theming for Outlook on the Web and more in general for Office 365?1.7KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Whiteboard app - storage and sharing
Microsoft has madeimprovements to the collaboration experience, such as inviting specific users and the ability to revoke access to boards for all users or individual users. That takes away my concern about the sharing aspect. I am still trying to figure out if data storage has also moved to the region the Office 365 tenant is located in.55KViews1like6CommentsRe: Whiteboard app - storage and sharing
HiDaniel Hudson, Thank you for the response. It seems kind of strange that there are 2 whiteboard apps that use different storage options, where one only stores data in the US. Hopefully Microsoft will fix this. Also when I wanted to share a whiteboard, I was expecting to define who could access the whiteboard, but instead all I got was a URL to share with somebody. The url is not behind authentication, so anyone with the URL can access the whiteboard. Best regards, Joost56KViews0likes11CommentsWhiteboard app - storage and sharing
What is up with the Whiteboard app, why is it not storing the whiteboards in OneDrive or SharePoint so it is automatically stored in the region where the whole Office 365 tenant is hosted and can leverage the same access controls? Also having anonymous access to Whiteboards only is a big security gap if you ask me. I would like to share whiteboards with my colleagues only, not with the whole world...Solved59KViews0likes20Comments
