WVD Multi-session support for Endpoint Manager (Intune)
Does anyone know the timeline for Multi-session support with Endpoint Manager. This link gives it as May 2021. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=Windows%20Virtual%20Desktop. Just wondering if anyone from MS can provide any further updates on this please?5.6KViews3likes11CommentsWindows Virtual Desktop, Hybrid AD Join and Intune Management
Hi All, Has anyone managed to get a Windows 10 Enterprise Image (not multi-session), that has been hybrid Azure AD joined managed by Intune? The WVD set up would be using personal host pools. I am planning on setting this up to test the process but am unable to find any MS documentation on this as to whether its supported or not.2.8KViews0likes2CommentsRe: How can I manage the WVD VM's and the WVD users on the VM's with Intune
Robert K Hi Robert, Have you found out any further information on this? I can't see anything form MS that indicates that Intune can be used for management of Windows 10 vm's on the WVD platform. I would think that until WVD is fully integrated with Azure AD and Azure AD join this will be unlikely.956Views0likes1CommentRe: Requirement to have an on-prem AD
415Group_Ray The key things to ensure are 1. Make sure you have DNS set up on your vNet to point to the DNS IP's of the AADDS Dc's\DNS 2. Make sure you force a password change on the account you are using to join the wvd's to the domain https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory-domain-services/synchronization "For cloud-only Azure AD environments, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory-domain-services/tutorial-create-instance#enable-user-accounts-for-azure-ad-ds in order for the required password hashes to be generated and stored in Azure AD. For any cloud user account created in Azure AD after enabling Azure AD Domain Services, the password hashes are generated and stored in the NTLM and Kerberos compatible formats. All cloud user accounts must change their password before they're synchronized to Azure AD DS." 3. The account used for the domain join doesn't have MFA enabled7KViews0likes0CommentsWindows Virtual Desktop and NG Firewall Failover
We are using a NGFW cluster in front of our WVD. When we test a failover from Node A to Node B, the failover is successful, however, there is a significant delay of between 4-7 minutes before the Host Session Agent established connectivity again with the RD Broker service. What seems to happen is as follows - The UDR for the WVD subnet is updated with the Next Hop being correctly updated to the primary FW node ~ 1 minute - The RD Client then cannot connect to the WVD resource for at least 5-7 minutes. Does anyone know if there is a polling interval for the agent and what this setting is? I assume it is set to poll rdbroker.wvdselfhost.microsoft.com:443 Thanks613Views0likes0CommentsRe: Personal Desktops
Christian_Montoya No error for either. It was more a question around supportability of the two scenarios i.e. Are there any support concerns with changing the SKU size of a single session host within a host pool? Are there any support concerns with changing the SKU size of session hosts of a subsequent ARM deployment into an existing Host pool. i.e. existing session host SKU is D2s v3 and new session hosts will be D4s v3. So in effect, a mix of SKU's in same Host pool.1.8KViews0likes4CommentsRe: The case of Persistent, SessionHost assignment remains even if the user is unassigned from AppGroup.
Christian_Montoya Hi Christian, with regards to the statement below, could you give more information on the correct steps to complete this for this for a direct assignment on a 'personal session host'. "To re-assign that session host, you need to completely remove it from the environment, then re-register the host."957Views0likes2CommentsRe: Guidance on using WVD with MFA user accounts and Azure AD DS?
RobertCrane That is my understanding yes, as per the Microsoft document I sent. If ADDS was set up recently then there is a high possibility that a high proportion of users have not changed there password. You can test this by dumping out user accounts and last password change to see if you get any sort of correlation.13KViews0likes2Comments
