Semi-automated newsletter?
Hi I have ambitions to create a monthly newsletter for our +8,000 users about changes to the most used M365 tools, and I would like to do with as little effort for me and my teammates as possible - of course. So, I want to try to use Copilot for that, but I have been unsuccessful in asking Copilot to use the messages from M365 Admin Center. I am therefore interested in any ideas about how this can be achieved. Thanks!82Views0likes1CommentHow to allow B2B users in Microsoft Places workgroups?
Our company recently purchased another company. While we are preparing migrating users from the two legacy tenants to a new, third tenant, we collaborate with each other using Cross Tenant Synch and Cross Tenant Access. I am currently testing out Places, but I am unable to add my team members from the other company to a Workgroup in Places: "1 user(s) couldn't be added, the administrator has disabled adding these user(s) to any workgroup". Any idea how/where I can change this? I am Global Admin.External sharing mysteries
I am struggling to find out exactly how external sharing works. Our tenant is set to "New and existing guests" in the External Sharing settings in SharePoint Admin Center. But I am still allowed to share files in Teams with external users that are not Guest Users. And they can access and (if granted permission) edit the the file. But they can't download the file. How come Guest Users can access and edit files if they are neither new, nor existing guests? How come I am even able to share the files with unknown external users?588Views0likes3CommentsHiding the "External" label
Hi Our company is merging with another company and on "Day One" we want to use B2B Cross Tenant Synchronization and Cross Tenant Access to synchronize all users from the companies to the other company's tenant. Even though B2B synchronized users are tagged as Members, they appear in Engage with the label "External". Is it possible to hide this label from all users that are synchronized using B2B when they access Engage in the other tenant?643Views0likes1CommentPrevent Communication Sites?
Hi In our company, we have a policy to only allow Communication sites if they are part of our intranet. Our reason is: If you need to communicate broadly, then use our intranet. So, my question is: is it possible to restrict creation of Communication sites and only enable it to members of a specific group?2.3KViews0likes3CommentsAre SPO group connected sites 'SharePoint' or 'Teams' in relation to retention?
We have two retention policies: one general and one added later only covering Teams. Now I need to exclude individual group connected sites from being retained - do I exclude the sites in the general retention policy or in the Teams-only policy? And - just to be 100% sure - when I have an active retention policy covering "All" and then later add an exception, the "rule" will become "All except those sites being excluded", right?725Views0likes0CommentsRetention Policy and deletion
We currently have a one-year retention policy covering Exchange, SharePoint etc. The policy is set to "Do nothing" for "At the end of the retention period". My question is: When the one-year retention period has expired, what will be deleted - everything that is more than one year old (even content that has not been deleted by the owner) - or only the contents that have been deleted by the user one year ago?Solved4.3KViews1like6CommentsMS Lists not yet available in our tenant
We still haven't received the Lists app in out App Launcher. We can access it using the URL, but we can't launch it in the organization until the icon appears. According to my information, Lists should have been rolled out by the end of August.1.2KViews1like1CommentAutomatically applying labels to sites/site collections
It is possible to automatically assign labels to all documents in a SharePoint document library. I want to take it a step further and assign labels (e.g. "Confidential") to all documents in a site, no matter what document library they are stored in. Is that possible? Example: A site is enabled for external access by guest users and the site owner has declared that the site may contain confidential contents. All documets uploaded to or created in this site will therefore automatically be assigned the "Confidential" label. This behavior cannot be altered by the site owner. Also, it would be nice if content that are assigned a specific label, automatically gets assigned a set of policies that prevent certain actions like download, printing ect. And another thing - it would also be nice if it was possible to specify that all site collections that have enabled external access always automatically will be assigned a set of policies that restrict the actions possible on the contents. Is any of this possible via PowerShell? Any thoughts? Thanks JakobSolved18KViews2likes9CommentsAdmin settings for display language
In the Language & Region tab in the Settings & Privacy page in Office 365 My Account, it says: "This setting is managed by your organization. You can set display language through individual applications. Learn more about how to do this or contact your IT administrator." Okay, I'm the administrator and I have no idea where to specify the Display language globally - and where has it been specified that tusers shouldn't be able to change their display language?14KViews1like4CommentsChanging the retention policy to add deletion
We have a retention policy of 1 year, and "At the end of the retention period" is set to "Do nothing". If we change that to "Delete items automatically", will that cause all the files in Preservation Hold Library that were deleted more than a year ago, to be deleted immediately? Any potential problems we should prepare for if we decide to proceed with the change?977Views1like1CommentHow to disable option to stay signed in
The option for users to choose to stay signed in to Office 365 is a potential security problem. We have MFA turned on, but if users stay signed in another person may access the tenant if the computer is left unattended or is hacked. It was possible to turn this option off in Company Branding in AAD until the latest (preview) version of Company Branding was released. For some reason that feature is not available in the latest version. I assume I can revert to the previous version, and then turn it off, but when doing that, I receive a warning that it may have negative consequences for SharePoint Online, but it doesn't say what those consequences are. So, my questions are: 1. Can I turn it off by reverting to the previous version of Company Branding and what are the consequences? 2. Is it possible to achieve the same result in another way? PowerShell or Conditional Access maybe?
