Re: Threaded comments instead of Notes
It appears that since yesterday, MS has restored the Notes functions. There was even a “new feature” explainer that popped up at the Review tab discussing the “new” comments and the old ones now called Notes. Thank you MS.

The ribbon Notes commands only view existing notes, not add or edit notes.

Same problem here. No "notes" commands on the right-click menu nor on the ribbon. MS: please fix this. You have wiped out a ton of legacy data.

I have same issue. It looks like MS was nudging users off the old yellow notes feature (which I use a LOT) toward the "comments" side-bar approach. I hate it when developers get a "good idea" and force us to change, especially with no notice or transition support. This is a HUGE pain. But, will MS notice? I doubt it.
