"Save and Close" missing from Calendar Event entry window - Office 2016/365 Win
Since recent Office 365 updates, "Save and Close" is missing from the Event window when I attempt to enter a new calendar event (image 1). However, if I refresh the entry window by clicking on the "Scheduling Assistant" next the Event tab, and then back on the Event tab, "Save and Close" appears. This is Outlook 2016 Pro Plus upgraded with Office 365 Home subscription on Windows 10 (latest). Any way to fix? Thanks.22KViews0likes14CommentsRe: Install error - 0x800f081f for (KB5016632) 2022-08 Cumulative Update
Hrvoje1185 Interesting, thank you! But... I have no C:\$WINDOWS.~BT folder - seen this after a Windows version upgrade, but always clean it up. I do have C:\$WINDOWS.~WS which has the rest of your path "Sources\Panther\setupact.log". The log is from June, not recent, has has lots of issues and warnings, but the word "profile" does not appear. Still having issues updating using Windows Update, but utility WIndows Update Mini-Tool has been successful. Wish there was a way to reset. Also is SSID the correct term? Same as the term for Wi-Fi network IDs? Seems weird. Thanks, Joe24KViews0likes1CommentRe: Install error - 0x800f081f for (KB5016632) 2022-08 Cumulative Update
FIX! for me, anyway. I had been on Windows Insider Beta and switched back out of Insider previews completely. I think that was the origin of the error, although Windows let me do it. If that preceded your problem, this will probably work for you as well, combination of online fixes: 1. re-enrolled in Windows Insider Beta, restarted, 2. Paused Windows Updates 3. Deleted folder C:/Windows/SoftwareDistribution/Download Delete this Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost 4. Restarted. At this point, I used the free utility Windows Update Mini-Tool to check for updates - I find it gives better info than the standard WU in Settings, but that probably would have worked as well. After resuming paused updates and checking for new updates, a new Beta Prelease version of Windows was found - it installed successfully, and then the associated NetFramework update and some driver updates worked as well. Finally, WU shows Up To Date, PC restarts with no "installing updates" hang. Back to normal. I had to be patient and walk away while "installing updates" realizing that it probably was not hung now! And it wasn't- eventually succeeded.31KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Install error - 0x800f081f for (KB5016632) 2022-08 Cumulative Update
Actually, looking at my Windows Update History, it shows that KB5016632 was SUCCESFULLY installed back on August 10 - with several subsequent failures. Is the update installed, but not marked off so WU knows its installed??35KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Still can't make Remote Desktop connection to Win 10 Pro Microsoft Account User
SOLVED - why so hard to find solution. Change back to a Microsoft user account. SIgn out, sign back in with Microsoft account password (26 characters read off 1Password on my cellphone) so it gets cached somewhere in Windows. Then make remote connection using User Name and microsoft account password - works. And hopefully I'll stay logged into One Drive now! (Why didn't THAT work with a local account??). Remote access is definitely enabled. I do not use Edge - browser is Chrome. My PC cannot use photo or fingerprint login. I had a PIN set up when I logged in with my Microsoft account. Now I am back to local account, but it still shows PIN login at startup. Even tried to disable policy in gpedit.msc and registry, but PIN login still there. Is it possible to do remote connection with a Microsoft login user account? That is what I would like, but can't make it work! Lame...12KViews0likes1CommentStill can't make Remote Desktop connection to Win 10 Pro Microsoft Account User
I was using a Local User Account on my PC, but I kept getting "Microsoft Account Problem " and OneDrive Not Connected" notifications on startup (all PC sharing is turned off), so I switched to Login with Microsoft Account instead. Then I could not make a Remote Desktop connection to the PC, even in my house on the same network (I usually connect through a VPN). I tried RDP connection with Microsoft credentials, Microsoft PIN, short User Account name, full name - no combination was accepted. Changing back to a local account fixed RDP right away, but brought back the frequent notifications. It looks like this has come up for a long time. Is anyone aware of a solution? And with a local user account (my Microsoft account IS listed under "accounts used by other apps"), why do I keep getting notifications of Microsoft account problems?Solved12KViews0likes3Comments
