Re: New Teams Desktop Client Not Showing All the Employees Teams
I've also had a user with the same symptoms experience this with the new client as of today (no issues previously on the new client). For our part, we've cleared the user's teams cache and restarted with no luck. The user's teams appear just fine on the mobile client, so this appears to be a specific bug with the new client. I was able to fix the problem, at least for now for this one user, by going to the Teams admin center, removing the user from each of the missing teams there, waiting a minute or two, and then re-adding the user to each of those teams. Not scalable for sure, but for one user and a half dozen teams, much faster than trying to troubleshoot and fix an inherent bug.2.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: New Feature: Schedule Microsoft Team Chat Messages
There's no difference between a user being online vs being available as far as your message is concerned. What matters is when the user chooses to read the message. If they are busy and don't want to be disturbed... that's what the Do Not Disturb status feature is for. If you have a message to send to someone, just send it. Don't stalk them.1.4KViews0likes1CommentRe: New Feature: Schedule Microsoft Team Chat Messages
When I sign on I don't want to be bombarded with new message notifications. I also don't want random users to be alerted when I am available, that feature's already a privacy violation (it makes some sense for managers to keep tabs on their teams but there's no mechanism in Teams to control "oh this person is a direct report of that person, so allow it", such as an AAD integration); adding further notifications, even indirectly, that a user is now available is just further eroding that user's privacy. Messaging apps are asynchronous by design--you can just send your message and whenever the user is able to read it, they can read it. Stop trying to hamstring them by making them behave like outmoded communication methods such as phone calls, please!1.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Remove unnecessary "All Apps" button
JayAtNFTYou can force the navigation pane back to the bottom which will auto-hide the 'all apps' button and other irrelevant buttons in Outlook. To do this, open the Registry editor, navigator to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\ExperimentEcs\Overrides, create a String called Microsoft.Office.Outlook.Hub.HubBar and set it to False. This is by design unfortunately; Teams will automatically overwrite a previous recording for the same meeting with the new one. It does this if you hit the limit (4 hours or 1.5GB, whichever occurs first) or if you manually stop the recording and start a new one.10KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Sharepoint Excel documents no longer support Internet Explorer
There seems to be another issue now (granted Microsoft may have disabled Office Online in IE by now); I have several sheets in SharePoint that already use the font Calibri (see Paul's answer) that just stopped working since March 4th (approx 1 week ago). Opening in Edge and Firefox works fine.1.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Microsoft Team - Default Folder/File Sort
kimbal5See my answer here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams/setting-default-sort-for-files-tab/m-p/2788761#M100726 Summary: set the default sort in the default view from the SharePoint site rather than from within Teams. For users complaining about tablet/mobile not working, make sure the "set as default view for mobile devices" at the bottom of the settings page is also selected. Often there's a different "mobile view" that is set as default for mobile devices for SP lists and libraries.50KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Team Meetings , recorded to one drive
The attendee does not have the recording shared with them in the recorder's OneDrive file. This is likely because the attendee didn't actually attend, but was only invited. To my knowledge only those who actually join the meeting are automatically provisioned with "Read" access on the video link in OneDrive. Either have the recorder or a SharePoint Admin go into the recorder's OneDrive, select the video in OneDrive in the "Recordings" folder, and click "Manage Access" from the ellipsis menu. From there the list of users w/ permissions can be edited.1.8KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Modern Library "Notify your team" option after upload - with uncontrollable or auditable results
For what it's worth, there is now a Microsoft Support page on this feature: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/notify-your-team-after-uploading-a-file-to-sharepoint-f2d0c9cb-06df-4041-8cde-42aade19af2f3.6KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Track changes in a Excel file which is stored in Teams
Microsoft used to have the feature to Track Changes in Excel, but they deprecated it. You can still add it back to the Ribbon by going to Excel options, but this may limit how it can be shared (e.g. you might not be able to share it via OneDrive anymore). This is a useful feature, so naturally Microsoft has removed it only to re-announce that it's a "new" feature landing soon in Excel. This new feature does the exact same thing as the old feature, so let's hope it stays around... it should roll out to all tenants over the next several months.
