Re: Shared Mailbox - Issue with FROM and SIGNATURES
VasilMichev Thank you very, very much for this - it works like a charm for the shared mailboxes! Going to demo for the folks tomorrow. Great solution for those looking to sort out that FROM and SIGNATURE issue with shared mailboxes905Views0likes0CommentsShared Mailbox - Issue with FROM and SIGNATURES
Greetings all, Working with some people and looking at the best way to handle their shared mailbox needs since moving to Exchange Online - few users - approx 5 shared mailboxes. The two issues they have are: when composing a new email they have to select the shared mailbox in FROM (what if they forget to do that and it appears to come from their mailbox) email signature - they want that signature automatically added...and it's picking up their signature... I have seen these concerns everywhere....if they were comfortable with using Outlook on the web how easy this would be - it would take care of those issues above - a shared mailbox in a separate tab - works great! But...they would prefer to do all in Outlook on the desktop...I get it! For the signature side of things....read about doing a transport rule to add that signature to those outgoing emails...but...their signature still gets in there... Tested created a M365 group instead...don't think that's going to work... Any other suggestions you might have would be great! Or...if they decided to handle this with just a distribution list there is the issue of where to keep those emails in a central location? Would love to see how others are handling this and if there are nifty tricks out there! Thanks so much - cheers! JoshuaP Found another post about this: Teams recording won't stop - new 4 hour recording every 4 hours! But yes - I agree if all left the meeting and the organizer hung up and didn't actually choose "end meeting" that Teams would recognize there are no longer participants and not long after force the end of that meeting/recording. There might be a UserVoice request for this....and perhaps it will just be a matter of users getting used to doing this....15KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Microsoft Teams keeps recording after a meeting has ended?
JoshuaP Hello there - well I didn't open a ticket....the user has since started using the recently new "End Meeting" option and hasn't reported this issue again....didn't spend more time on it as bouncing around.... Do you see that "End Meeting" option in your tenant yet? If so does this issue still occur when you do an "End Meeting"?16KViews0likes4CommentsRe: Microsoft Teams keeps recording after a meeting has ended?
This issue was just reported to me by a user this morning....perhaps a glitch related to all the meeting updates being rolled out right now? I'll open a ticket with Microsoft - although I'm sure they are being bombarded right now. In the meantime I will do some testing with the user before their next meeting as we now have the "End Meeting" option....16KViews0likes6CommentsRe: Voicemail - "This feature is not currently available"
Jessica Wong Hello Jessica....I've been following this as I noticed recently when doing some testing....just had a friend test calling me from their cell and all is good....a mystery indeed but as long as I know there are no voice mail issues for my client all is good! I'm not going to bother about it still not working with my cell to my own Teams number/voice mail. I shutdown their PBX a few weeks ago and they are now using PSTN voice in Teams - so far so good! Thanks for sharing - now I know that I'm not going crazy! Cheers!3.8KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Teams device can't receive inbound calls from external people.
Kelemvor333 Hello again Mike...so I had a chance to do some tests....I had the same issue you described....with putting a call on hold. Also I did another voice mail test and it doesn't show up on the phone although it did previously - most strange! Went into Teams Admin and updated the phone....last update was done in July....thought I'd start there first. After the update the hold/resume works properly and voicemail now appears. With that said I am still having that issue with the sync of the voicemails. If I delete the voicemail in Outlook or Teams it is not deleted on the phone - can actually still play it. Even if you choose to delete the voice mail on the phone it does nothing. The voicemail will be deleted if I log off the phone but obviously not a good solution! Now if I delete the voicemail on the phone first - then the change is reflected in Outlook/Teams - just not the reverse. This has been going on for a while and again just haven't had a chance to troubleshoot. I left the "orphaned" voice mail on the phone and if it's like it has been the last few weeks it will just stay there until I log off or restart the phone. Let me know how it goes after you update the phone - suspect you'll see that update available in Teams Admin. Hopefully that resolves the hold issue and voicemail now appears - if so great! Then I'd love to know if you are experiencing those same voicemail sync issues. I have to get a few things off my plate (aka servers!) and I'll bounce back to this and troubleshoot further and will update.....but so curious to see if you're having that same issue. Also...same sync issue happening with Meetings! Your turn! UPDATE: noticed approx one hour later that the voicemail was removed from the phone - a deleted Meeting still appears on the phone....17KViews0likes1CommentRe: Teams device can't receive inbound calls from external people.
Kelemvor333 Ditto what Chris said.....changed to "Teams Only" mode to test and that did the job and yes - it was within an hour for us.....FYI I have the same phone to test.....so far so good....but noticed meetings/voice mail not syncing properly....for example delete a vmail in Teams on computer/mobile and still on phone....unless you log out.....I'll troubleshoot further soon. We've recently switched coexistence mode to "Teams Only" for all.....testing with a few users for the Phone System/Calling Plans...hoping to shut down the PBX at the end of the year! Good luck with your testing!18KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Turn off new product training and tips for services in their subscription.
Hi Oliver...this is the reverse of what you're looking for....and depending on how many users could be quite a pain but thought I'd share just in case! Check out the "Alternative Method" in this article I came across.... basically you're keeping on at the admin level but then letting users choose their comm options...unchecking the "Using Office 365" option....enabling for those who want to check it out. https://www.techrepublic.com/article/how-to-turn-off-microsoft-end-user-communications-in-office-365/3.6KViews0likes1CommentRe: MCSA Office 365 certification
Hi Keith, I did the MCSA: Office 365 Cert last year - more so as a challenge to myself to write some exams again - and I actually learned a few bits I might not have worked with daily - and then there's all the PowerShell fun! ;-) When I got my MCSE in 1997 it certainly opened up doors for me - especially as a woman - but today I know there are several conflicting views on certification. One thing about the MSCA is that the exam requirements changed frequently in the short time I wrote the two exams - a month apart! My takeaway from writing the MS exams again - for myself - is that I won't do them anymore. I've been working with MS products since the early 90's - so have the experience - and as we all know it is continuous updates to the Office 365 suite versus back then - let alone only a few short years ago. The exam requirements will constantly change. I work with Microsoft 365/Azure daily in my role - yes I am a "Jill of all Trades" as a result of this so instead of doing exams/certs I have chosen to focus on Microsoft Teams. I did consider adding some Cloud Security certs into the loop but at the end of the day I had to pick my battle - and again that is Teams. The cert might help....as others have said to get that interview, etc. In the meantime it sounds like you're already working with/or have exposure to O365/Azure - keep digging into these products...there are tons of free online resources/courses for learning....do the networking...attend online/in person conferences...perhaps volunteer to talk at events, user groups, etc. and keep impressing them in the office! :-) Hope this somehow helps - cheers!4.8KViews1like1Comment
