Defender for macOS onboarding issue
I am trying to onboard macOS devices in my organization with Microsoft Defender via Intune, and facing multiple issues with it, the configuration profiles are applied successfully only on few devices, only the first (manually installed) macOS is properly onboarded in Defender, and all of the other ones are complaining about missing license. Could someone answer few questions and maybe give some tips on how can I troubleshoot and resolve this: We haveMicrosoft 365 Business Premium license, and according to Defender documentation this is a sufficient license to use it on any endpoint device. However the error message on macOS devices states that there is a missingMicrosoft Enterprise license. Is there a special license needed or is this just the payload configuration profile issue? The kernel extension and onboarding profiles are generated in the Microsoft Defender Admin Center, however I did noticed that the OrgID in the onboarding profile file does not match my TenantID. Does that mean that those files are premade and I should adjust them to my organization details or it is simply a different ID assigned? The onboarding profile gets successfully applied on all devices however the kernel extension profile fails on almost every device, and the successful applications do not follow any pattern or macOS version. Can't really find any suggestions on the possible root cause of this issue. Did anyone had similar problems with the kext profile? TheMicrosoft Defender Admin Center does provide a installation package PKG file. However according to the Defender documentationI should useMicrosoft Defender for Endpoint (macOS) application that is ready to be applied directly from Intune Management Portal. Which is it? Or maybe both? Thank you in advance for any tips and / or answers 🙂Categories in New Outlook
I see that the Categories tags in the "New Outlook" are no longer assign to Mailbox rather to the persons Account. This would explain why I cannot see option to have categories assigned for emails in Shared Mailbox, I can barely see any proper settings for Shared Mailboxes in the "New Outlook" in general. Are there any official information regarding how this is going to look in the end and if we will be able to keep using Categories in the Shared Mailboxes? I am more than certain there is a huge amount of companies, users, teams using this feature...2.9KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Send From address different from primary SMTP
Thanks, I will have a look into that solution, however this would be more like a workaround of what I wanted to achieve, especially that we depend fully on cloud solutions, so I will have to distribute that via Company Portal / PS script. I have already enabled the option to Send from Alias for our users and I could instruct them how to do it properly...862Views0likes1CommentSend From address different from primary SMTP
I though this will be straightforward case... I want users to have different logins UPNs and Primary SMTPs from the email address that is used in the From filed of the email. For example I want my login to beXY@ domain dot com but when I will send an email it will be sent from Xavier . Yeti@ domain dot comthis email will obviously be one of my aliases so it there is no problems with communication. I know users can use the Send from Alias functionality, however it would be so much easier to have it configured on the organization level. I have already check the Exchange Mail Flow possibilities but there is no option to do so. Is there a way of achieving this without having a third-part ID provider? I noticed the new Microsoft Entra ID has a nice collection of Identity settings and policies however I did not found anything over there.
