Re: Onedrive saving duplicate files with Computer name
I've been having the same issue - believe its due to this service health issue: Some users opening SharePoint Online or Microsoft OneDrive-hosted files in File Explorer may be unable to autosave files Issue ID: OD1088089 Affected services: Microsoft OneDrive Status: Service degradation Issue type: Advisory Start time: Jun 4, 2025, 12:57 PM PDT User impact Users opening SharePoint Online or OneDrive-hosted files in File Explorer may be unable to autosave the files. More info This specifically affects users opening files within Microsoft 365 apps, such as Word or Excel. While we're focused on remediation, users that have access to Microsoft 365 for the web apps may use these clients to retain expected autosave functionality. Scope of impact This issue may affect any user opening SharePoint Online or OneDrive-hosted files in File Explorer while running the OneDrive sync client version 25.085.0504.0002. Root cause A recent OneDrive sync client build update, version 25.085.0504.0002, contains an issue that's preventing the app from behaving as expected during the upgrade, which is leading to this impact.269Views0likes0CommentsRe: Copilot Agent inside SharePoint site is not able to answer questions regarding the custom columns
Power Automate is a great solution. I was referring to an old school approach of using Document Properties in the Word document - overkill at this point since you got it working.484Views0likes0CommentsRe: Copilot Agent inside SharePoint site is not able to answer questions regarding the custom columns
Unfortunately, Copilot will look at the content in the document, but not the metadata columns. It likes headers and headings. And it will always know the account that created the file and the account that last modified the file. Maybe try to add your metadata as document properties inside your Word doc.578Views0likes2CommentsRe: SharePoint List - Hide Sections
I've been using this type of JSON for a while and have been digging into it extensively the last few months. As far as I can tell from all the documentation, you can only conditionally show and hide the fields. I would love to be wrong here as hiding entire sections would make for a cleaner interface.485Views0likes2CommentsRe: Is planner my best option for this request
It's much easier to use Power Automate to create new Tasks in an existing Planner, but you can use it to create a new Planner Creating a Planner Plan and adding it as a tab to the General channel of a Teams team using Power Automate & Microsoft Graph - michelcarlo You'll want to use a List for the Requests that captures desired name, project date, and the M365 Group to add the Planner to, and then uses that information to create a new Planner. I also like to use a second List as the basis for the Tasks: Task Name, Owner, and Days Til Due (as a number, like you've shown above, -1, _2, etc.) to calculate due date in conjunction with the Project Date captured in the request. I like this second list because the flow can create the tasks based on this list - whenever changes are needed, the business can update the List and not worry about touching the flow. If there's any room to use an existing planner, with specific buckets and labels for the new tasks, this is by far the easiest way to go. But if different group members are needed, this won't be acceptable. I hope this helps.81Views1like0CommentsRe: SharePoint doc library metadata columns
That's cool that a declarative agent was able to created to handle it, but it shouldn't be necessary. We have managed metadata for 'Account' and have tagged files across multiple sites. Copilot isn't paying any attention to the tagging. I was hoping that if it was centralized/global metadata, rather than stand alone columns, it would help. So far, no difference.484Views0likes1CommentRe: SharePoint search results showing for those without permission to the documents
This is not normal behavior. This is the antithesis of how those search results are supposed to work. Do you know if you have devs at your company who have customized search? Have you already gone into the library permissions and used the 'Check Permissions' button to triple-check user's permissions? And checked all the unique permissions? If there's no custom search and the perms check out, I'd be inclined to create a new library and put some no risk docs in there and test the permissions there.410Views0likes3CommentsRe: SharePoint new list form People picker only display email
Not necessarily out of the box, but in about 15 minutes, you could use JSON in a text field SharePoint Calculated Column to Extract Email from Person Field [using JSON] - Enjoy SharePoint. I have started a library of these JSON scripts that I go back to all the time - so in the future, it will take you 2 minutes to do something like this. Hope that helps!175Views0likes1CommentRe: OneNote files not being indexed by Copilot for M365
My experience so far: if you use the SharePoint Agent for the site that holds the notebook (may not be released to your tenant / account yet) it will return OneNote results. Otherwise, you have to be in the OneNote app, and you have to be VERY specific about where to look for your info. It will search across all your open notebooks, sections, pages unless you point it to a specific location. Like you, I am frustrated that I can't access them from other copilot locations.639Views0likes0CommentsRe: Such a disappointment
We've been using Copilot and training orgs on Copilot for the better part of the year - it's very counterintuitive when trying to figure out what Copilot can and can't do. For Excel, it can only analyze the tables, not the data once composed as a pivot table. You may want to check out the Copilot Lab (make sure you're logged in with your work account as it shows more options). https://copilot.cloud.microsoft/ It may help you from ripping out your hair as you get used to it. I hope this helps.234Views2likes0CommentsRe: Copilot in Word - how to compile a list of style decisions
Hello! This sounds like a fantastic use case for Copilot, but unfortunately there's no indication that Copilot can reason at that level yet. There's basic functionality inside of Word, such as draft, summarize, convert lists to tables, create images, and auto-rewrite. More information can be found here Copilot in Word help & learning. Hope that helps.170Views1like1CommentRe: Copilot not creating new documents
Hello - M365 Copilot currently doesn't honor Word templates. You can open a new Word doc, refer to a few files and ask it combine, summarize, or compare. You can open a populated Word document and ask it to change a few key areas, so if it were a SOW, you can ask it to change client name, effective date, deliverables etc., but it won't honor the formatting of the original doc. The only templates that can currently be used are in PowerPoint - and that requires specific master slides. And Copilot won't copy/paste from one file to another - Copilot won't take Word content and place it in Excel. M365 Copilot in Excel only works in the one Excel file you have open with data that already exists - at least for now. Microsoft support has some good intros on what you can do with Copilot and Office: Get started with Copilot in Excel - Microsoft Support I hope this helps.5.2KViews0likes0CommentsMeeting Agendas for Upcoming Teams meetings showing in Outlook for the web but not desktop
Hoping someone can shed some light on this as I can't find any documentation. For upcoming Teams meetings where we have added an agenda (loop component in Teams), we can view and edit that Loop component from the event in Outlook on the web, but not from Outlook desktop app. The desktop app only shows the agenda/loop component for meetings in the past. Does anyone have any links to documentation or information on when we might see upcoming meeting agendas in Outlook desktop? I know there are workarounds for this, but we have some folks not interested in workarounds. Thank you!354Views0likes1CommentRe: Question about lists
You may want to check out this article - Microsoft still uses the term 'Lists' when explaining Power Pages, but they appear to be dataverse-based, not Microsoft List-based: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-pages/getting-started/add-list Hope that helps278Views0likes0Comments
