Key Takeaways from Ignite
I had the chance to attend Monday’s security session at Microsoft Ignite, and it reinforced just how critical security innovation is in today’s threat landscape. The session highlighted how Microsoft is weaving real-time threat intelligence and AI into tools like Microsoft Defender/Co-Pilot to help organizations anticipate and respond to threats faster and more effectively. A key takeaway for me on this was that integration isn’t just about staying secure—it’s about enabling businesses to move confidently in a digital-first world. Security needs to be a foundation and platforms like the Azure Marketplace play a crucial role in making that shift achievable. Azure Marketplace allows organizations to deploy security tools quickly and align their spend with Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC) goals, unlocking cost benefits without sacrificing agility. I would love to hear if anyone else attended this session and how it shapes your approach to security and procurement?Future Year and Renewals via Azure Marketplace- Best Practices to align the business
Many customers are modernizing and streamlining the purchasing through Azure Marketplace. Some ISVs license via an upfront payment for 1,2 or 3 years of software and services/SaaS model. If you have transacted many deals through Azure Marketplace, what best practices have you found to be most useful to understand what "renewal" private offers need to be created and which ones are coming due since there is not an auto notification feature for ISVs publishing the private offer? justinroyalRe: How can I accommodate payment plans where the amounts differ per term?
Hey Arjan- This is an area similar for our org. I have found it helpful to create 3 separate private offers and include the term in the name. Once they are all setup , the customer would "accept and subscribe " to year 1 and onlt "accept" both years 2 and 3. This will allow them to view it in their azure portal and then when the month is correct for them they can go in and subscribe for the 2nd and 3rd year. The setup I have found helpful for this also leverages " Specific month" setup to ensure they do not turn on invoicing early.259Views1like0CommentsCoterm Additional Licenses Via Marketplace Private Offer
Now that we are a few years into our marketplace journey, we are experiencing customers purchasing additional licenses. Are there any best practices on co-terming anniversary dates on the additional licenses purchased throughout the year? The preference would be to have all of the purchases handled via private offer compared to mixing private offer and private plan. Interested to understand how others are handling these scenarios?SolvedRe: Private Offers - problems finding billing ID and failures accepting offers
justinroyal Also, I feel worth noting/sharing an additional area on this topic. If you are running across issues with accepting the private offer I have found it helpful to understand that a persons rights within Azure marketplace may only allow them to complete Step 1 (acceptance of the private offer). Often it could be the same person or someone else who has permissions to complete Step 2 (subscribe to the offer) which completes the private offer purchase. Hopefully this assists some others leveraging marketplace.1.1KViews1like0Comments
