Re: SharePoint Online auto-acceleration
Hi AndresAvendano Been a while since I've worked in this space but my recollection is that any site that has external sharing enabled doesn't get this acceleration by default (since guests usually can't sign in at your 3rd part idp). If you do have guest sign in enabled, you can use this property to forward on ALL sites: Set-SPOTenant (Microsoft.Online.SharePoint.PowerShell) | Microsoft Learn Hope that helps! JonasBack nothing to share as of yet. Directionally, this is where we are going but will take us time to get there. As we start moving there, you can expect to see a Message Center post with the plan and timelines (with plenty of time for organizations to prepare!). Thanks! JonasBack, the short answer is "it's complicated, but getting less so" 🙂 All new tenants as of June 2023 have Entra B2B Integration with SPO on by default. All guest sharing will go through B2B as a result. For existing tenants, they can opt into using B2B in all cases if desired. Otherwise file/folder sharing will use B2B accounts (if the guest already exists) or SharePoint one time passcode (if they do not). Sharing a site with a guest will always use B2B. There are a few other minor edge cases that use the legacy SharePoint Invitation Manager but we are working on deprecating those. Hopefully this all makes sense but let me know if you have any questions! Stephen Rice Principal Product Manager, OneDrive4.7KViews0likes2CommentsRe: guest expiration
Hi walter-wodzien, Expiration will apply to any guest that is accessing content through sharing links or direct access in a OneDrive or SP site. So if a user on an MS Teams SPO Site was shared to via a sharing link, they would expire. But if they are accessing through membership in the Team or an AAD group, then they will not expire. Unfortunately there isn't an easy way for us to surface which access is expiring (the expiration actually occurs on the user object in that site) but you can use features like the Site Sharing Report or auditing to help. Hope that helps! Stephen Rice Principal Product Manager, OneDrive2.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: share "using specific people" add expiry facility
Hi mgudites1, For now, we recommend using the site-level expiration feature which we shipped a year or two back. We don't have anything specific to share about expiring of individual links... yet 😉 Stephen Rice Principal Product Manager, OneDrive4.2KViews0likes1CommentRe: Define "Allow only users in specific security group to share externally" for sharepoint sites only
Hi HenricStr, That's correct. The overall tenant sharing settings must be enabled in order for ANY external sharing to occur. Once they are enabled, every other setting applies further restrictions (such as only allowing the external sharing by specific people). Hope that helps! Unfortunately not, sorry! This feature is only available for enterprise customers at this time (also generally called Microsoft 365 though I don't recall the nuanced name differences). Apologies for the confusion! Stephen Rice Senior Product Manager, OneDrive2.5KViews0likes1CommentRe: Option "block download" not showing
Hi Gabrielhuisg, Thanks for the video! Based on that, it looks like you are in the OneDrive consumer environment which does not currently support Block Download. This is definitely something we'll keep in mind for future but nothing to share about consumer support at this time. Thanks! Glad to hear it Stephan_Leistra! Gabrielhuisg, the feature is now rolled out to 100% of Production for enterprise customers. Can you share a screenshot of what you are or aren't seeing? Thanks! We're rolled out to 100% of Targeted Release now and will be moving onto Production tenants shortly! No admin configuration required! Once rolled out, users will see the option in the share experience. Thanks! Stephen Rice Senior Program Manager, OneDrive2.6KViews1like10CommentsRe: Option "block download" not showing
Hi Dincer_Ozberber, Block Download for PDF should be available today. Block Download for video should be coming very soon! Rollout will start this month and finish in January! Hope that helps! Stephen Rice Senior Program Manager, OneDrive3.5KViews2likes3Comments
