Re: more than one audio language
RodrigoTarratsWe are getting files up and things are looking pretty good and polished. Some delays in other groups have delayed the launch of our small video library for company-wide consumption. But turned out to be a blessing in disguise. There are a couple things I overlooked/forgotten about and was recently reminded about two big ones. First thing, We have two English languages (England and US) and two Spanish languages (European and Latin American) Our voiceovers have measurements, so we actually utilize both English languages separately because of Metric and SAE. European and LA Spanish are apparently different enough we have them as 2 different languages in our translations. Would it be possible to have an "Other" on the drop down where we can write in the language? Or can we get EU English and EU Spanish added? This is for both Captions and Audio Files. Second thing, My upper management is loving the multiple language audio tracks but wondered if I could make sure that the default is US English. I do not see, nor have I been able to find a way to set a default Audio File. It doesn't seem to follow the order I upload, nor does it seem alphabetical. It seems to always default to German for me. Can I set a default or do something cheat the system into picking English upon opening? Thanks for all your help on this. ScottRe: more than one audio language
RodrigoTarrats Thanks for the heads up. I currently have the first batch of videos out for caption and voiceover translation. I look forward to trying out the new feature when I get the translations back. If I have time, I'll try to set up a dummy video to play around with the feature before I start getting translated files back.Re: more than one audio language
RodrigoTarrats We have a base set of videos already created. So technically it is already working. It just isn't available to anyone outside of my specific group within our company, and not released to the employee group for which these videos are intended. Another group is working on translating our closed caption files and utilizing AI text to voice to obtain multi-lingual voiceovers. We are past the proof-of-concept phase and now have multiple groups getting their processes set up to support this. I feel like we have a year, maybe a little less, before we launch the videos for consumption. There is still a lot of work to do to get this library built up. Edit: I don't see us deciding on a delivery mechanism for a couple months. We have sought out a couple options but haven't had the discussion of specific capabilities and use cases (because we haven't really nailed them down yet. I started looking into solutions that offered multiple audio track capabilities when I stumbled on this thread. I'm curious if the new audio functionality will allow the end user to simply select a language and have both audio and captions change. Or if they will have to select their audio language and caption language separately.Re: more than one audio language
Any updates? Looking at the roadmap, it shows a rollout starting Sept 2023 but it also shows "Targeted Release". My group in my organization is looking at migrating away from Stream. This issue is the biggest reason we are doing so. If a solution is on the horizon, we may revisit staying with Stream (SharePoint) for our videos. But that will depend heavily on how far away this feature is from full release and how well it functions.Re: Stream cuts off video
So, the issue corrected itself without any intervention on my part. I have a theory, please keep in mind that I was replacing an existing video when this issue started happening. I uploaded a 3:05 long video. Then updated it and replaced it with a 3:10 long video. After replacing the video would show the new footage but cut off at 3:05. I went home for the day and the next morning I opened the video and it played all the way to 3:10. My theory: I've noticed a few minute lag when creating and removing folders and files from SharePoint. I believe there is a glitch (or it is just the nature of Sharepoint) that updates the video length after it is uploaded. If there is a lag creating a folder, then there must certainly be one updating the video's details. In short, you just have to give SharePoint time to catch up. I recommend leaving the file alone, check in every once in a while and see if it updates the timeline to allow the full video to play. If it still doesn't, let it go overnight and see what you get in the morning. It still annoys me to no end, but I thought I'd share this for anyone who might stumble on this thread in search of answers.Re: Stream cuts off video
Marc Mroz I am experiencing the same issue. I've uploaded numerous videos to SharePoint, all encoded the same as the one I'm having this problem with. My 3:12 video stops at 3:05. Exported from Premere Pro. H.264 1920x1080 29.97fps. No audio. This video replaced a video that was shorter ( we added a few seconds of content). Since there are links to this video out in the world, I will not be able to delete it and try uploading it again. Replace is my only option. I created a copy of the mp4 on my computer and uploaded it. The copy worked exactly as it should, the entire movie was uploaded. Tried to replace the video again with the copy that uploaded properly and it cut it off at 3:05. I wonder if the OP was replacing as well. Oddly enough, Both videos are 480Mb Either way, we plan to use SharePoint to manage our videos, we will need to seek out another option if we cant fix this issue or figure out what I need to do to make sure they upload properly.
