Re: Unable to connect Viva Sales with Salesforce
mrshaunaggarwal , do you happen to be a Power Platform admin in your tenant? If so, would you be able to look up that the "msdyn_viva" Dataverse instance still exists? Alternatively, could you ask one of the existing Power Platform admins in your organization to check?Re: Connecting to Salesforce CRM Sandbox
Hi! Connecting to Salesforce sandbox environments is fully supported and does not require any special configuration. In the log-in flow, did you select "Sandbox" from the dropdown after selecting "Salesforce" as the CRM? If so, what happened after you tried to log in?1.3KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Viva Sales with Outlook Integration
The only place in Viva Sales where we allow users to log in to their CRM is Outlook today, so the answer to your question is "Yes". However, we are actively working on a feature to allow users to log in to their CRM from Teams, which will ship later this summer.Update add-in error in Viva Sales for Microsoft Outlook
The purpose of this post is to inform you about a recent issue in the Viva Sales Outlook Side-Panel that customers might get exposed to. For additional information, review the following troubleshooting guide: Update add-in error in Viva Sales for Microsoft Outlook - Microsoft Support WHO IS AFFECTED? All Viva Sales users, including: Windows & Mac Users Outlook Web & Desktop Users User Installed & Admin Installed instances SYMPTOMS Viva Sales Outlook users will see an error indicating “An update to this add-in is available that requires your review and confirmation to install” when opening the Viva Sales Outlook Side-Panel, which ultimately blocks them from using Viva Sales (even though there are ways to get temporarily unblocked). Additionally, users can see an error message when scheduling a Teams Meeting, though we don’t have a consistent repro for this specific scenario. On the Outlook Web Client (OWA), when the user clicks the “Update” button it launches a new browser window and navigates to the “Viva Sales for Microsoft Outlook” screen on the “Add-Ins for Outlook” popup window. The user will still see the error message in the new browser window but see the Viva Sales Outlook Side-Panel in the original browser window. Upon refresh of the browser, the user will continue to see the original error message. On the Outlook Desktop Client, when the user clicks the “Update” button there is a subsequent error message indicating “The add-in is currently upgrading. Please chose the current message or appointment, and re-open in a few moments.”. Once the user closes the side-panel and re-opens it Viva Sales will temporarily work until the user closes/reopens the client, at which point the error re-occurs. ROOT CAUSE: This seems related to how the Outlook client handles certain type of version updates that include permission changes to the Viva Sales Outlook Add-In. We have since reverted the change back to minimize the customer impact of the issue. RESOLUTION & WORK AROUND: The issue will self-resolve for all tenants within the next 72 hours. In the interim, customers can mitigate the issue through the following means: For User Installed instances of Viva Sales, the user can simply un-install and re-install the add-in via the Outlook Add-In flow. For Admin Installed instances of Viva Sales, the admin has to un-install and re-install the add-in via the admin.microsoft.com portal. However, it will take 24 hours for the changes to take affect for all users.Re: Questions on Viva Sales
SB V , thank you for reaching out. Here are the responses to your questions: 1. Will you be able to easy change the forms with CRM Data that are used and showed in Outlook? New fields, new actions/buttons? Partially. We are releasing the first iteration of our CRM Customization capabilities as part of our January release, which will allow customers to add/remove fields from different entities in the Viva Sales seller experiences, i.e., the MS Outlook Side-Panel or the MS Teams Message Extensions. Later in spring we will also allow extensibility for custom entities. However, there are no plans to introduce new actions or buttons any time soon. 2. What about the storage? Limitations, per license ...? The customer's CRM remains the single data source for all CRM entities and the storage requirements for non-CRM related entities in the Dataverse instance is minimal, so we don't expect major storage related limitations per license. 3. This will also replace in the end the App For outlook that you can use for Dynamics 365 because it will become complex for the end users to use 2 addons There are significant feature gaps between the existing Dynamics 365 apps and Viva Sales today and it will take time for us to fill these gaps. However, we agree that managing two apps is very costly, especially if they are targeting the same persona, i.e., sellers. With that in mind, our plan is to aggressively fill the feature gaps between the two apps and allow customers to fully migrate to Viva Sales if it meets all the requirements. 4. ESIF will be available for Microsoft Viva Sales? I don't have an answer for this today but will share more details if there is anything we can share.1.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Add-in warning / "currently upgrading"
js_multi and AnthonyPounder , we were able to track down the root cause of the issue and have a fix. In summary, we recently added a new permission to the Viva Sales Outlook Add-In, which requires users/customers to update the Add-In to the latest version. However, the update experience in Outlook has some flaws and doesn't allow for a seamless update flow, which is why the issue you reported is happening. The issue should auto-resolve some time in the next 72 hours. However, you have some options if you want to accelerate the fix and apply a manual work around based on how the Viva Sales add-in has been installed in your inbox: If you installed the add-in via the user flow, i.e., by navigating to "Get Add-Ins" in your Outlook Client and installing it on your own, the solution is to uninstall the add-in and re-install it. If you installed the add-in via the admin flow, the solution is to uninstall and re-install the add-in via the Microsoft Admin portal (http://admin.microsoft.com). Please note, in this scenario it can still take up to 24 hours for the add-in to get fixed for individual users. We are also in the process of publishing an official troubleshooting guide for this issue.3.2KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Customize Viva Sales Fields in Outlook
