Urls of M365 Groups and Channels
Marc Mroz, is there a way to obtain all the urls to groups and channels in Stream (Classic) via any script execution? We discovered that for a channel that has videos shared to the channel's group but the videos are not owned by the group, the videos are not migrated and the folder for the channel is also not created. Once the group is hidden post migration there is no way to find the channel via the group.Missing Orphaned Container in Stream (Classic) Migration Tool
Today my Stream (Classic) inventory report has 6 orphaned video containers (Orphan Videos 0, Orphan Videos 1, Orphan Videos 2, Orphan Videos 3, Orphan Videos 4, Orphan Videos 5) but the scan in the Stream (Classic) migration tool only shows 5 containers, with Orphan Videos 0 missing. Orphan Videos 0 suddenly appears today in the Power BI report as I have been cleaning the permissions of the orphaned videos for the past few days, resulting in videos in some orphaned containers jump to other orphaned containers. The affected videos are not indicated as belonging to Orphan Videos 0 in the inventory report. How to get Orphan Videos 0 appear in the migration tool then?Stream Live Events
How to identify if Stream live events is being used in a tenant? From what I have experienced, currently, producing a Teams live events (without using an encoder) will result in Stream video recordings generated and stored in Stream (Classic). Is that Stream live events? Is Yammer live events also Stream live events?Video discoverability
How far back are videos being discovered in https://www.office.com/launch/stream?auth=2? If I may hazard my guess based on the "timeline" filter, the discoverability as up to last month i.e. last 30 days? If yes will Stream start page eventually has the functionality to discover videos as far back as a year ago?325Views0likes0CommentsRe: Migration Tool - Scan Error
the latest update on my case is that the fix to the affected containers are completed, and the relevant team is planning the fix to the Production environment, with the ETA sometime in Feb 2023. I believe the fix is to be applied to each individual container hence a case to Microsoft is the best next step.Re: Tenant throttling
varun_taneja my tenant has this stats - 3,596 containers (3,359 are eligible - Scan Status "Completed") - 33,797 videos (33,207 are eligible - Scan Status "Completed") - 9.15 TB of video size probably with the above stat the migration will take about 7 days (more hours for the migration window during the weekends and less hours for the migration window during the weekdays). what is your thoughts?Option to upgrade the view to readonly permission to allow for video download
Based on the 7 different use cases in https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/stream/streamnew/migration-detailst, will there be a feature to allow us to opt for the permission of video viewers to be set to readonly permission for the migrated videos, allowing for the videos to be downloadable, so that we don't have to manually upgrade the permission manually (via UI) or automatically (via the execution of our own custom PowerShell script that inspect the permission of each migrated video and then upgrade it to readonly permission)? This feature is handy so that the owners of the videos don't have to do the upgrade manually.SharePoint Administrator role during the migration
Once the containers are added to the Migration tab and the migration is started, will the expiry of the activated SharePoint Administrator of the account that starts the migration terminates the migration? We have the policy where SharePoint Administrator role activated for user administrative accounts will only have activation window of 8 hours only. Of course, the workaround is to migrate containers in smaller batches and manually activate the admin role once it has expired but I am looking at options where the migration will be in two batches, one for M365Group containers and another for User containersSolvedMigration Tool - Scan Error
I have completed a scan for all M365Group containers. There are 8 containers that has the scan result "Error". Despite repeated attempts at scanning the result is still the same. The errors are Could not get Stream container details. Channel: <...> combination is invalid. Could not get Stream container details. response is null How to go about fixing the underlying issues so that the containers can have "Completed" status for Scan?Different counts for containers
The report extracted from the execution of StreamClassicVideoReportGenerator.ps1 reveals about 3500 unique ContainerEmailId. However, the scan report in Stream Migration tool reveals about 7000 containers, and upon closer inspection for "User" containers I notice that there are users with more than 1 containers listed under Container Name where the value for the Container Path is the same. Anything here to be of concern?Solved1.3KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Migrating Videos Created by Now Deleted Users
Just to add from my experience extracting the inventory report... rows where ContainerEmailId is empty is considered orphaned videos and the only way to find the creators of the videos is to manually (no PowerShell commandlet for Stream unfoirtunately) access each video using the url in the column VideoHyperlink of the extracted report from the Microsoft's version of the Power BI report for Stream. This is not ideal as it will update the LastVIewDate value for each video but is the only known way to obtain the email of the creators, whether they are with the organization or has left.
