Re: User constantly prompted they need to request access to OneDrive shared item
Hey all, know this is old but I did finally figure this out some time ago. The resolution was to manually delete the user in site collection and have them re-request access. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/remove-users#site-by-site-in-sharepoint The steps above resolved this for us.7.8KViews0likes0CommentsShared Excel File Not Updating Live For View-Only Users on the Web
Saw a few previous posts about this but nothing is really clear as far as solutions or if this is intended behavior. As described, one of my staff members shares an excel file with certain individuals for editing and for some people as view-only. All updates to the file are handled on Excel web app. Anyone with the edit permission sees the updates published live and in real time, but any staff with the view level permission do not see any updates at all, ever. The file is on an individual user's personal OneDrive/SPO, so I'm not positive this is an issue with the document's unique permissions, since it's not impacting everyone. But does anyone know what causes this behavior, and is it intended? Do we need to make a custom permission level for this document? I would appreciate any feedback. I can't share the file here as it contains PHI but others have commented on this forum on this topic with similar circumstances. Thank you in advance for any help. seckogurudi1.4KViews0likes1CommentUser constantly prompted they need to request access to OneDrive shared item
Hello everyone! I have one specific user in my tenant who is unable to access files shared with them by their manager, (or anyone else for that matter.) They will continuously be prompted to request access to the item, which even granting direct access as opposed to sharing the link with them will loop them back to the same page. I took control of the manager's OneDrive directory and direct-shared the file myself to the user with no success and the same SharePoint access prompt. I additionally shared a file of my own for testing purposes, though this leads them back to the same page. All files within their own OneDrive on the app and on the web sync fine, they can also share files with other users---they just are unable to open anything shared with them. If this makes any sense? Has anyone encountered this and if so anyone have any suggestions for a solution? tldr; anyone who shares anything with one particular user they can't open it no matter what. Thanks. -Tristan
