Copilot In Windows for Windows Settings Not Working nor Image Upload
I've taken a few training courses on this and from December 2023 the Copilot for Windows when you wrote "open Excel" as an example would reply with "Open an App. Sure, would you like me to open Excel app for you" with Yes and No. Now, it doesn't do this at all and just list a long list of things you have to do. No Windows Settings work now. I also can't use the image upload as everything I've tried to upload from my local PC just says "The file couldn't be uploaded. Please try again." I'm logged in with a work profile and do not have the copilot license but all of these features are supposed to be included.665Views0likes0CommentsLimitations for Copilot for Word under 20 page limit is ludicrous
I cannot use Copilot for Word on most of our documents as they are longer than 20 pages. The "workaround" to split the document into different files is also impossible as that makes comparing document to document impossible as not each file extracted (say page 1-20) will never match the document I want to compare it to. Not every document is perfected formatting with sections and headers so that makes it impossible to use as well if you didn't create them. If Copilot can only handle 20 pages at a time then why does it not "batch" its logic into 20 pages at a tine so the customer is not the one stuck with extracting every document to meet its limitations? With the license being so expensive, it should work with any word document we use with our Business Premium license. As a side note, I asked Copilot the same question on the same word document 5 times and received 5 different answers: 2 were hold on while I do it and never did, the 3rd was you have to do it manually, 4th was I can't do it and another was I need to use a macro.1.7KViews0likes3CommentsNeed Powershell script to remove versioning from SharePoint Doc Library with over 500,000 items
We have recently been "recalculated" by Microsoft forcing us to purchase 1 Tb more space which is extremely expensive. We must be using at least 300Gb or so of versioning but cannot find a script that's reliable, works with MFA and will work with over 500,000 files. Is there anything recent that is reliable and works?260Views0likes0CommentsRe: SharePoint Storage Jumped over 1Tb in less than 8 hours
It appears Microsoft support did a "recalculation" on our tenant and added this extra usage to match the subsite storage metrics which took our tenant down. I am now in many cases and emails tryign to get them to undo what they did as we had to buy 1.5Tb of stroage to get working again. I've looked into the Archive feature, which would work, however, if a user needed to access 1 folder in that Archive, the entire archived site would have to restored, which would then fill up our live storage. We need to be able to archive but grant access occasionally to users to one or 2 folders in that archive site. If we can never really give users access to archived data, that's not an archive and pretty much a delete.964Views0likes3CommentsRe: SharePoint Storage Jumped over 1Tb in less than 8 hours
The admin centre was showing we were using 4.8Tb of space as were all the usage reports and powershell. The storage metrics on the main site, at the top right, also showed the correct usage of 4.8Tb but the individual subsites/folders were showing much higher numbers. It seems Microsoft support decided to increase our "used" storage to match the subsite totals, thus adding 1.2Tb of used space, thus taking our entire tenant down, until I purchased 1.5Tb of more space. They said either do that or "delete a Tb of unneeded data". Extortion.1KViews0likes5CommentsSharePoint Storage Jumped over 1Tb in less than 8 hours
I have been diligently moving data off of SharePoint to reduce our storage use. I use a powershell script to get the usage per site and check our SharePoint Admin Centre almost daily. Our usage has been declining as I moved over 600Gb of data out. As of yesterday afternoon we had 570Gb free of 5.27Tb. Last night I received an email that we had 0.00 space avaiable and our tenant was put into read-only mode. I used the Diag: sharepoint tenant storage as well as powershell, and both showed were were now using over 6Tb of storage. I had to add 1Tb of storage just to prevent our business from being down. From all the powershell extracts, you can see the total used on our main site going down, along with the tenant used. Admin Centre Reports Usage shows as of yesterday, we were using 4.7Tb. All of this adds up. Even with someone manually uploading Gb and Gb of data it's impossible we added 1.2Tb in under 8 hours. I've created a case with Microsoft but am not hopeful they'll help. I've tried support to no avail. We have a very large document library that has the Offline Client setting disabled as our Employees will just try and sync the whole thing and fill up their local HD (it's over 1 Tb in size). Even if it weren't disabled, I need to download this data so I can upload it somewhere else. OneDrive client is Files On Demand so the files do not download until they are accessed and it's impossible to use as a source to upload somewhere else. OneDrive is not possible. Plus I only want 1 folder at a time so I don't fill up my HD. I keep getting told that either there are too many files in the one folder I'm trying to download (even when there is no way to see how many files are in the one folder), we can't download data over 10Gb (but it will download up to 18Gb sometimes then just stops), or just "it can't be done." So we have to keep our data in SharePoint forever? I've watched the downloads happen and sometimes it gets to 8Gb, sometimes 12Gb, sometimes 18Gb, I've tried Edge, Chrome and Firefox and on each one, you see it going quick then all of a sudden slows down to 0, then up to 100kb/s, then it shows it's done ie zip file complete, yet it's invalid and cannot be extracted. I cannot be the only one that needs to download folders bigger than a few Gb? I even tried copying the folder to my OneDrive (which it did) but have the same issue downloading from there.1.4KViews0likes0CommentsPowershell command to export ALL private Teams memberships, including private Channel memberships
There is currently a major issue that Microsoft is not saying is a bug. When a user is soft-deleted (what happens when we disconnect that user from the on-premise AD to force the cloud-only conversion) they are soft-deleted in O365. The restore works great, however, Teams does not work afterwards.. When the account is restored, all the licenses are retained, all the email, security, private teams memberships are also restored, however, the private channel memberships are permanently removed and cannot be recovered. The only way to get the access back is to go into Teams Admin Centre, open each Team/Channel combo and re-add the user. What happens if you don't actually know what private channel they are members of and what that membership is (member/owner)? You're SOL. I've tried many powershell scripts but they won't show me ALL private teams with all private channel memberships for all teams/channels/users. I would nave to run it for each team/channel name combo and we have many. Anyone have a good script to use?Solved17KViews1like9CommentsRe: MSI Install Pending - Microsoft support was of no help and it keeps downloading the file daily
I've removed the group from the MSI, rebooted twice, deleted the registry entries I found and still it's showing Install Pending when it shouldn't be trying it at all. I'm trying to do the route of the Company Portal to see if the users can self-install but now can't get my PC to get removed from it.1KViews0likes0CommentsMSI Install Pending - Microsoft support was of no help and it keeps downloading the file daily
I've tried unsuccessfully to get anything installed with InTune. I have an MSI that runs perfectly fine with a command prompt using the same command. I also tried the Win 32 route, failed, and multiple MSI attempts. It's been sitting at Install Pending for 9 days now. My PC has zero issues with checkins or update rings from InTune, the Last Modified Time on the MSI keeps updating to current and if I check theC:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\mdm folder there are now 9 separate 1Gb file downloads which will forever download until I run out of space or remove myself from the group (which I've now done twice). I've had a Microsoft Support case but they couldn't figure it out and closed the case. I have a Microsoft Partner looking at it but they can't figure it out. They've been given ALL the logs, event viewers, diagnostic logs, but no one can figure it out. We now have to remote connect to every workstation and manually install this MSI which is ludicrous in 2023. We moved off of ConnectWise Automate which never had issues installing MSIs and now are stuck with InTune and no way to push installs.1.1KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Users are no longer able to uninstall Chrome nor set Edge to Default on Work Profiles
We currently have an App Protection Policy which includes all Microsoft Apps (and Edge) already deployed. Since we have 200+ devices, I would really like to avoid having to add each user one by one into a group to get Chrome removed. Users should be able to install and uninstall whichever apps they choose that are setup as "Available." The only way to get this to work is the user has to go into their phone's settings > apps > and under the work profile list, disable Chrome, then go to the default apps > work and set Edge as a default. Something has changed as we did not have this issue a few months ago.1.5KViews0likes0CommentsSince recent changes, everyone at our company can change format of group forms
This never used to be an issue but recently (last couple months) anyone can open a form and change the format. By changing format I mean they can change the question description, delete drop-down options, rename etc. ONLY the owner of the form which should be the owner of the group should be able to make these formatting changes yet there is nothing anymore on the format to stop this. Every couple of weeks someone goes to fill it in and instead of filling in the form, they change it completely and I have to go change it back. There isn't even a form version history that I can easily restore it. How do I fix this? Clearly I can't be the only person that doesn't want every user to change the form each time they open it.401Views0likes0CommentsUsers are no longer able to uninstall Chrome nor set Edge to Default on Work Profiles
This is a new issue because as of May of this year, I did not have this issue. We have setup the Chrome browser as an "Available" app in our Android app store. We also have setup the same. I have a personally owned work/personal enrolled device that never even had Chrome installed on the work profile. Since installing Chrome in the work profile, sometime since May, I now cannot uninstall it. I am only able to uninstall the updates so Chrome is still there and still my default browser (on work profile). Even on a Samsung device that also does not come with Chrome, cannot uninstall Chrome. I also have Edge installed and sync'd, yet cannot change my default browser as it says "Action blocked" yet we have no settings for system browsers in Intune nor have Edge setup as an App policy. We do not want to force a default browser. Prior we could install whichever browser app our users wanted and they could choose their defaults. Now none of this is possible and we're forced to user Google.... on Microsoft managed devices. When did this change? How do I remove Chrome and use Edge without now reconfiguring InTune?1.8KViews1like2CommentsHow to Deploy Applications On-Demand to only a few users or devices
We've migrated off of ConnectWise Automate and what I miss the most is setting up application install scripts (which we can do in Intune) but being able to just sort devices/users, select a few, then run the script on them on either a schedule or on-demand. With Intune everything is by groups so if we need to patch an application, we have to create a group, add all the devices, but not everyone may need that application update and keeping all of these groups updated is a pain. We can't use dynamic. We'll have the same issue as we're moving to Intune Update Rings where we only want to do 20 devices at a time so we can monitor them. Can't just pick first page of 30 devices and apply, have to create groups. We have so many groups now it's getting out of hand. Is there any workaround to do on-demand to select devices and/or schedule these?2.2KViews2likes1CommentHow to Control Google Accounts in Work Profile and What it can backup
We currently block the use of google accounts completely in the work profiles (all 3 Android Enrollment types). We do setup google accounts in chrome using the user's O365 email addresses (so if the Employee leaves, we can change the google password by sending a forgot password to the email). The issue we have is some Google Apps and Services require a Google Account and would be nice to sync the Chrome favourites and passwords to the mobile devices. If we do allow google accounts, can we prevent them from adding any personal google accounts ie only allowing our@domain.ca email addresses? Can we prevent the backups to just things we approve of in InTune (for eample, only backup SMS and Phone Log but nothing else)? Is there a better way to do this? Is there a way to control or "integrate" google business accounts (which we don't have setup or use) with Azure/InTune so if an Employee leaves, we can disable their google account? We have the same issue with Samsung devices where we can block the additional of Google Accounts completely but they can still create and add a personal Samsung Account thus locking us out of the phone and letting them backup data from the device.1.8KViews0likes1CommentRe: Bookings with Me Links won't open with Chrome from OWA or Outlook mobile app
I was able to get around the error on my cellphone by signing out of my chrome browser (I always sync it for passwords etc) then when I opened the link again it opens. Can't really ask every person you send a meeting link to sign out of google or use Incognito though.4.2KViews0likes0CommentsBookings with Me Links won't open with Chrome from OWA or Outlook mobile app
Multiple users have confirmed this issue. A bookings with me link is sent. When link opened from Android Outlook App (my test was using a personal hotmail account) that has Chrome as the default browser, the link won't open and get the attached error. If on the same phone, they open same link using Edge or Firefox or Duck Duck Go, it opens and they can then proceed. Another external person I sent the link to was using a Windows laptop accessing the email using OWA and chrome and same issue, slightly different error. If they opened link with Edge or Firefox, no issues. Tried sending Bookings with Me links from 2 different users at our company, same issue. Does not matter if bookings is Public or Private link, same issue.4.3KViews0likes4CommentsWhy aren't Private Channels Setup as O365 Groups?
If Microsoft creates separate SharePoint sites for each Private Channel in a Team then why is there also not a separate O365 Group? No one can access any files in these private Teams and Channels from Outlook because they don't show up a Groups and for some ridiculous reason, Microsoft decided to only show "Recent Folders" when browsing Web Locations, so it's impossible for users to email files using Outlook. If Private Channels were groups, it would make memberships that much easier and then we can use Outlook to access the files. All our users now have to use the OneDrive Client sync which is terribly bad with performance and files always get stuck not syncing.Been trying for weeks to get Microsoft Unified Support to No Avail
Today alone I called into Microsoft 4 times trying to get someone to give us a quote to BUY support from Microsoft for Office 365 because the support that is included with all of our subscriptions is unacceptable and too low tiered to handle real technical issues. According tohttps://www.microsoft.com/en-us/unifiedsupport/detailsPremiere is no longer an option and have to go with Unified and the only way to get details on this is to speak with your "local Microsoft Account Rep" which is not even a thing. After my 4th transfer someone in Premiere said we don't qualify for Unified because we have less than 250 laptops so how are customers with say 150 laptops supposed to get support (good, paid support)? Has anyone been able to setup a separate support agreement for O365 like we have done with Azure Standard Support where we get experienced, 2-3 levelled tiered support for all of our issues? We will pay for it yet have no way of getting it.
