Re: Cannot wipe iPhone from Intune
PatrikStar73, here is another option. This will reset/recover any iPhone. I never have the pin for staff iPhones coming back to It Ops. The iPhone still needs to be removed from Intune. https://support.apple.com/en-us/118430. Oops. Just saw I already responded below.3KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Managing Multiple M365 Administrator Accounts with Microsoft Authenticator Backup
I like that Microsoft Authenticator MFA cannot be restored. Allowing this would weaken security. Yes this means I must redo the non-M365 Authenticator IDs when getting another iPhone. Protocol requires one to have a minimum of two admin IDs in a M365 account, thus another admin can setup a TAP (temporary access password) to have a user reset their Microsoft Authenticator ID.924Views0likes0CommentsRe: Can New Outlook Sent/Deleted Items for shared email mimic the classic registry outlook entries
For the benefit of others, here are Microsoft's instructions for editing the registry. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/troubleshoot/email-management/deleted-items-go-to-wrong-folder1.1KViews0likes0CommentsCan New Outlook Sent/Deleted Items for shared email mimic the classic registry outlook entries
The New Outlook does not put sent/deleted emails in the shared email, unless opening the share email in a new tab. Otherwise it puts these in the person's sent/deleted folder. In the classic outlook, this was controlled with registry entries. The directions I give to my user community work but are annoying because folks open a new shared-email tab everytime they launch the browser or want to use the desktop version. My user-community directions are: Outlook in the web Browser: Option1, Open in a new Tab > Click on your Outlook profile (photo/initials top right, not the browser profile) > Click on Open another mailbox > type in Shared email ID (optional, after starting to type, select Search Directory) > click on open > the mailbox opens in a new tab. Option2, Add to same browser tab as your Inbox > Hover cursor over Folder (immediately above your Inbox) > Click on ... (right of Folder) > Add shared folder or mailbox > start typing email > select from list Option1.1 and Option2 (cellphone) are the only options where sent/deleted emails go to the shared email. Otherwise the emails need to be moved after the send/delete has completed. Outlook on cellphone: > Tap top left icon beside inbox > Tap gear icon (settings) > Tap Add Mail Account > Tap Add Shared Mailbox New Outlook on the desktop (icon on task bar): Shows up automatically. > On left side, click on drop-down arrow beside Shared with me (below Search Folders) > Click on appropriate drop-down to see folders1.2KViews0likes2CommentsAdd ToDo Delegate Ability in the New Outlook
Please add delegate ability for ToDo in the New Outlook, (browser and desktop). Our ID-Shutdown process includes checking for ToDo's. The new Outlook (browser nor desktop) does not give this ability. The classic Windows Outlook has this ability.193Views0likes0CommentsRe: Authenticator is not giving approval requests or giving authentication codes.
SRArmstrong Microsoft Authenticator has to be reset up on the new cellphone. Authenticator details do not copy over, even though it may appear so. This is an intentional security design. If you have the old cellphone, connect it to Wi-Fi to use that authentication. Then go to your account security settings, add the new cellphone, remove the old cellphone. The old must be removed. Or get your admin to take care of this.1.7KViews0likes0CommentsAD User Office-Phone field Error "Unable to update"
Anyone else receiving error "Unable to update" when adding a phone number to the AD USER Office-Phone field. This is in the specified format, beginning with "+1 ", no spaces, dashes, periods, etc. I can go to Office365 Exchange and add it there. I first saw this Wed 10/3, middle of last week. This is an inhouse user, not external.6KViews0likes3CommentsExternal Guest IDs Search not working, in SharePoint Online
My external SharePoint online guest IDs have lost the ability to do a SharePoint search. Hoping someone will have some pointers. The SEARCH in the top middle bar does nothing. The search top left (only see this search for guest IDs) returns message that item might not exist. I first noticed this on 11/17/2021, but not sure when it started. The guest-ID-search-function did work at one time for external IDs. These are external email IDs that were given access to a folder in SharePoint online. These IDs do not show in O365 or Azure, (guest or otherwise). I get the same results in Edge and Chrome.1.3KViews0likes0CommentsRe: iOS 15 Intune Configuration Home Screen Layout
Interesting. The order on my iPhone XS Max is 2, 3, 4, 1, 5. This week I will see if this changes on an iPhone13. My iPad Mini only has three pages with the alphabetical layout starting on page 2. We put the daily-use business apps on page 1 and pin 4 to the bottom.8.5KViews0likes0CommentsiOS 15 Intune Configuration Home Screen Layout
For iOS15, in > Endpoint > iOS Configuration Profile > Home Screen Layout: The non configured Apps do not start at beginning of alphabet. On page one, it picks up about R or S. On page two, it picks up at the beginning of the alphabetic, then following through alphabetically. Hope to see this fixed soon. The Information states this, which is different from the MSFT document and the way it occurred on ios14 and earlier. Intune verbiage: Add apps to your layout row by row. Any positions you don’t fill will be populated by your other apps in the order they install on devices. MSFT documentation: These apps are shown in alphabetical order after the configured apps. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/configuration/ios-device-features-settings.9.3KViews1like3CommentsRe: Access Denied when sharing folders
Nice. This solved my issue. I was unable to share-externally on any new SPO site I was creating as a standalone (non team site). I encountered this starting about summer of 2018 and never resolved it. My old sites still worked, so just used them. Now we can start externally-sharing on new sites. Life is good! Yea!2.8KViews0likes0CommentsRe: MFA for an individual account converted to a shared account
Decomplexity I don't have the answer to your question but I do have a suggestion. Block the logon to the shared accounts. Delegates can still access the account. Blocking the logon removes it from the list of MFA accounts.1.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Self Service Password Reset with Password Writeback
Here is my experience. I am 100% in the cloud, office 365, no hybrid. First I set up MFA on my shared account. Second, I block logon to my shared accounts. Anyone who has been granted DELEGATE ACCESS can access this shared account from any Outlook session (cell phone, web browser, outlook on the desktop). Technically MFA is nonexistent when an account is blocked., But I do the MFA in the off chance a malicious attempt enables this account.1.8KViews0likes1CommentRe: Status (Presence) not reporting back from iPhone12 iOS14.3
PBeiler1 This ended up being a defective iPhone 12. A iPhone reset would fix the issue, but the issue would come back after a day. The person was swapped to an iPhone 10, and the problem did not come back. We are on day 8 with the iPhone 10, so am confident this is a defective iPhone 12. We purchased three iPhone 12's, same setup on all three. The other two iPhone 12's did not have an issue.1.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Status (Presence) not reporting back from iPhone12 iOS14.3
Resetting the iPhone resolved the issue. Our automated iPhone setup did not finish successfully. We manage our Apple devices, (push out apps to them, restricting logon if the device is not compliant, etc). After some more digging, saw some apps did not installed successfully. I reset the iPhone, redoing the setup and all is good. The Teams Status now reports back to the system so other users (and the Call Queue) see this user as busy.1.7KViews0likes1CommentStatus (Presence) not reporting back from iPhone12 iOS14.3
Yesterday, I had an iPhone12, iOS 14.3, where the Teams Status iPhone did not report back to the system. Incoming calls (from a Call Queue) would ring at the PC, not on the iPhone. The call is answered on the PC, parked, then picked up on the iPhone. Then additional calls come from the Call Queue because the system did not recognize the person was already on the phone. We logged-off/logged-on, both the PC Teams and iPhone Teams. Nothing seemed to help. We finally gave in and just used Teams on the PC. Hmmm. Still figuring this one out. Thought perhaps someone else also encountered the same problem.Solved1.8KViews1like3CommentsRe: How can I restrict other team members to view and edit certain sheets within an excel?
Search on “protect Excel worksheet”, should give you something. You can prevent others from editing Excel data in three ways. 1) password protect the file. 2). Protect cells. 3) Protect worksheets. It’s been too long since I’ve done this, I can’t pull the answer out of my head. Second thought, scratch this. I don’t think this allows you to restrict access for certain team members. It becomes an all or none feature.4.4KViews0likes0CommentsDate when personal Exchange-Outlook contacts (not GAL) come to Teams Desktop?
I see this MS post, which shows one's personal Exchange-Outlook contacts showing in Teams on the desktop. Is there a rollout date for this? This came several weeks ago, on my Teams iOS. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/view-or-add-contacts-in-teams-4828b70a-0194-4272-9895-cfa9468273cf . Right now, my Teams version is 1.3.00.21759 (64-bit). It was last updated on 8/24/20. I am eagerly anticipating this!1.1KViews0likes1Comment
