Re: Group Contacts Folder - Not Contact Group
Many thanks Vasil. Ah, that's a shame. Makes no sense at all though as a Group HAS a mailbox, and a Group needs a set of shared contacts. So we'd have to create a matching Shared Mailbox for every group, and keep membership synced? - That's nuts. Back to good ol' Public Folders it is then I guess...1.3KViews0likes0CommentsGroup Contacts Folder - Not Contact Group
Hi All We'd like to have a shared contact folder. After a lot of searching around I now "know" two things: 1 - In the old days this would have been a Contacts folder in a Public Folder, but MS seem from what I can see to be trying to kill of the idea of Public Folders and replace them with Groups. 2 - If you search on Groups and Contact Folders, all you get back for pages and pages is how to group your personal contacts - The replacement for Distribution Lists it seems. If we have a group, how do we (can we?) add a Contact List accessible to everyone in the group, that works the same as your personal contact list does (in as much as it's searched when you start typing a name in the 'To' field of an email, and can be 'grouped by' when viewed)? Many thanks, Paul1.4KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Sync Outlook Contact SubFolders and Global Address List With Teams
Wow - Really?! So after a couple of decades of people getting used to organising their contacts in Outlook, MS just decide to ignore what is, to me, 50% of its functionality when connecting it to Teams? A mail app has essentially two jobs, store & organise contacts, and send/receive/organise messages. Unbelievable...9KViews2likes0CommentsSync Outlook Contact SubFolders and Global Address List With Teams
Hi We've recently started using Teams and the only real issue I have so far is that I only have 5 contacts listed in Teams. These 5 are the only ones that are in the "Contacts" folder in Outlook. I don't even know why they're there to be honest as all of the contacts I have added in Outlook are in other contact 'sub-folders' for organisation purposes. I have a 'Clients and Contractors' folder, and a 'Manufacturers' folder. Between these two folders and the 'Default Global Address List' I have all the contacts I need in Outlook. None of these show up in Teams though, only those in the built in 'Contacts' folder. How do we get Teams to pick up and show our other contact lists please? (Windows 10 Teams Desktop app, Office 365 & Exchange Online) Many thanks.9.3KViews0likes4Comments
