Visio Online with E3 licensed users. (View/create file)
If user have E3 without Visio license. Does the user are able to open file shared with it with Visio Online? If user have E3 without Visio license. Can he still create new file with Visio Online? Is E5 (or any other O365 plan) planned to include Visio Online by default for every user?32KViews0likes1CommentRe: Automatically make files "online only" based on Last Accessed date.
Yes with windows storage sense and proper configuration this can be easily achieved. You just need to configure the cloud content section. Have a look at this Microsoft articles. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/manage-drive-space-with-storage-sense-654f6ada-7bfc-45e5-966b-e24aded96ad51.1KViews0likes0CommentsRetention policies vs Label with retention have different behaviour
Why does retention policies applied to a Site have a different behaviour then a retention policies label apply to document? Let me explain. Example 1: Publish à retention policie that retain content for 2 years on site A. Go to document library and delete a document. This document will be moved to the «conservation library» and be remove from the original location. That the expected behaviour. Example 2: Publish a Label that retain content for 2 years with a disposition review on site B. Go to document library and delete document. You will receive a message telling you that a policy is preventing this. Why since this label doesn’t act has a record so it’s sould let me do whatever à want and move the document to the conservation library no? I’m trying to figure out if this is the expected behaviour or a bug. Thanks for you help.SolvedRe: OneDrive Client, Files on Demand and Syncing large libraries
Just a quick reminder that we can now Drag/Drop emails and attachments from Outlook to Teams. With some previous clients, we have implemented an advanced search page that they keep open all day and they drag/drop content from Outlook to Edge (Chrome) since they often need to classify documents. It doesn't cover all scenarios but in that specific case with little change management users, don't even need the one drive sync.7.8KViews0likes0CommentsRe: How to remove downloaded files and replace them by the "links"/references
Yes! You will have to use Storage sens under Windows 10. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/use-onedrive-and-storage-sense-in-windows-10-to-manage-disk-space-de5faa9a-6108-4be1-87a6-d90688d08a481.3KViews1like0CommentsRe: Need Collaboration Solution for PDF in OneDrive for Business
MaryHACCO If all you need is been able to annotate and comment PDF you can use the free Adobe Cloud integration without leaving the browser. https://documentcloud.adobe.com/o365pdf/start.html?trackingid=XB5KHQN1&mv=in-product&mv2=acrobat https://helpx.adobe.com/document-cloud/help/office365-using-sharepoint-onedrive.html With this integration your file remain in OneDrive|SPO and you don't need Acrobat Cloud license until you want to use the advanced feature such has merge, split and create PDF. Hope this help!6.2KViews1like0CommentsRe: OneDrive Sync tool behavior for more than 300K files
Avoid local sync if total amount of object at destination is more de 300 000 (see problem even with 100 000). You will have issue and sync never end even if you sync 1 folder with 1 item and the source library have 300k items. Files could take hours to be sync up to the cloud and this will result in lots of frustration. If you regarding moving network drive to cloud and sync everything locally (even on demand) you will failed. A approach will be having library with «active content» (no more then 100k object) that is sync locally and other library for archiving and those should not be synch. Here is a thread with lots of information regarding this issues that has never been fixed yet by Microsoft. Would recommend to continue exchange in that previous thread. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/onedrive-for-business/onedrive-client-files-on-demand-and-syncing-large-libraries/m-p/1596137#M756214KViews0likes0CommentsRe: How to remove Modified in my Tiles (Modern Site)
SharePoint designer is deprecated and will not be supported in coming years. This was the way to go couple years ago but you should avoid this. This is the official Microsoft Recommendation. «SharePoint Designer Views: If someone told you to make a View in SharePoint Designer, years ago, this was a viable tool for customizing views, but SharePoint Designer is deprecated and will be unsupported in a few years. Do not use it.». The article is not directly related to your needs but same réflexion should be applied. Splitting content in multiple library could help if you think about active/inactive content or archive content. But if you split 100 000 in 10 library of 10k doc each and sync all 10 library you will face the same issues. Unfortunately this problem still présent years after years and Microsoft has not done anything to fix that. Your only real solution is to train user use Office Apps or Web interface to work with documents.7.8KViews0likes0CommentsRe: How to remove Modified in my Tiles (Modern Site)
TonyC109even if possible using SharePoint Designer I will definitively not recommend it since it's going to be your next problem. If you create pages in SharePoint online stay away of SharePoint Designer and try to figure out a solution using out-of-the-box webpart or Microsoft Search web part.4.7KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Rest list ID to 0
Stuart_Jolley You can't but with the new list creation release recently you can easily create a new list based on an existing one. If the path should be kept then delete your original list and recreate a new list based on your copy with the appropriate name\path and you will get a brand new list starting with ID 0.73KViews0likes6CommentsRe: SharePoint List - Conditional Formatting - Links
No that file you can style the a element. But have you take a look at the github columns formating sample at https://github.com/pnp/sp-dev-list-formatting/tree/master/column-samples ? You should be able to do mostly anything you need and one option would be to renegerate div with child element and style you need.7.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Retirement of notifications functionality in all Office 365 web apps except Outlook MC219002
If you create SharePoint alerts from list/library like "when new item is added" they will remain and continue to work. Microsoft will just stop using the "bell icon" on top right to inform user on some notification like new email, meeting is coming or password change.2.9KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Move To Keeps Many Files in Original Folder
sorryluvsqlmy mistake about Mover. It allow SharePoint to SharePoint but from/to different tenant. This leave you different options. Move from SharePoint to OneDrive for Business, then OneDrive for Business to SharePoint. If you have an other tenant you can use this other tenant or create one for free with the M365 Dev Program (https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/dev-program). Otherwise you can try the trial of Sharegate but I can't say if they have a volume limitation. Finally you can build your own PowerShell scripting or using the Copy-PnPFile from the PnP-PowerShell provided by the community.https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/sharepoint-pnp/copy-pnpfile?view=sharepoint-ps1.7KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Filtering a view using the "created by" department
Unfortunately no there is no way to get this info in the view options. One approach you can try is built a Flow and fill out the value when new item is created. Then create a view that group by the department column. Hope this help.4.8KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Move To Keeps Many Files in Original Folder
We face the same issues and also opened ticket with Microsoft but without real outcome. Even with a folder containing 200 files and 250mb total we have Multiples issues. My recommendation will be used Powershell scripting or move the folder in a new library within your current site then use Mover (free Migration tool by Microsoft) to move the entire library (which only contains your folder) to the new SharePoint destination.1.8KViews0likes2Comments
