Allow for the expansion of physical disks in a storage pool
Allow for the expansion of physical disks in a storage pool just like lvm on Linux. This would be useful in virtual environments and in Azure to be able to expand the physical representation of the virtual disk file. Be it a vmdk or vhdx. This currently allowable on other modern logical volume managers out there. This should be trivial to modify since the meta data is already there. It could be added to the powershell commandlets to rescan-physicaldisk, which would rebuild the metadata on the pool. I have a feedback hub suggestion open on it, which if you could please upvote: https://aka.ms/AAy4ihw52Views0likes0CommentsWindows Research Kernel Bring it Back!
I think it is time to revive the Windows Research Kernel! We need the community to be able to understand what is going on without letting everything out of the bag. The last version available was v1.2 which was based off of the kernel for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 SP2. We need a modern release for development, education, and security research. Who is with me?440Views0likes1CommentAdd Passkey support to Active Directory
Everyone, Please go to the feedback hub and upvote my suggestion to add passkey support to Active Directory Domain Services: https://aka.ms/AAw8z54 The reason I am recommending this is because there needs to be a standard way to use passkeys in an AD environment. What is Microsoft doing do battle the decline of Windows Server in the cloud?
What is Microsoft doing do battle the decline of Windows Server in the cloud? This is based on the news coming from the cma battle in the UK: https://www.theregister.com/2024/07/24/microsoft_cloud_cma/ This coming from someone that has invested 15+ years in learning and using Windows Server. Are there any hints as to how Microsoft might look at fixing this?Re: ISSUE - WON'T FIX - Failover Cluster Manager via RDP
Michael, A modern web ui is not what we need. The reason Windows is preferable is due to the native gui tools. It would be much better for a native/modern MMC based around c# and WinUI since this is Windows Server. At the least with the new wac core. It would would be preferable by many to have a native desktop app than the web interface which is slow and does not work well in complex security environments.2KViews1like0CommentsRe: Windows Server on ARM64 (Insider Previews)
I am looking to run this on low wattage endpoints in manufacturing facilities where ARM would be beneficial. Also, I would want to use this in our future high density private cloud infrastructure. We are looking at ARM based servers since we can run a large amount of them in a smaller footprint.35KViews2likes4Comments
