Re: After converting MS word file in to PDF internal hyperlinks are not working (Including TOC too!)
Actually, according to this thread (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/cross-reference-links-eg-table-of-content-table-of/181567c4-6cfe-4749-923e-452c75ba0c5f?page=2) the issue has been resolved in the latest Current channel. The Oct 14 release, coming just 2 days after the previous release does seem to be an attempt to patch this regression.1.8KViews0likes0CommentsRe: After converting MS word file in to PDF internal hyperlinks are not working (Including TOC too!)
Jallen666Agree with you there. The changing versions work-around is only for people who have full control and what's happened is a pretty fundamental regression in Word functionality. I raised a ticket with MS, but the "switch to semi annual" response was what I got back. However, I'm not even sure semi annual will be a long term fix - the XPS/PDF export "fix" that I suspect caused the problem was in the semi annual preview channel build for Sept 14 (Build 14326.20404), so the problem may crop up in the semi annual channel in March 2022.1.9KViews0likes1CommentRe: Table of contents links not working when save as PDF
Build 14430.20234 from the Sept 28 Current Channel included this "fix" for Word: "In certain customer configurations, it was discovered that document exports to PDF or XPS formats from Office would fail due to recent updates. This update fixed these regressions and reenabled export to these formats." Possibly this is the culprit. Switching to the Semi Annual Enterprise channel and build 13801.21004 does not exhibit the problem and gets the latest security fixes.66KViews2likes1CommentRe: After converting MS word file in to PDF internal hyperlinks are not working (Including TOC too!)
I believe this issue was introduced on the Sept 28 Build 14430.20234 in Current Channel - one of the "fixes" in there is to PDF and XPS export. Switching to the Semi Annual Enterprise Channel and using build 13801.21004 does not exhibit this problem.1.9KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Table of contents links not working when save as PDF
JohnDrummond Switching to the Semi Annual Enterprise Channel and using the latest build 13801.21004 (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/officeupdates/semi-annual-enterprise-channel) I suspect the problem crept in the Current Channel September 28 release (14430.20234), which has this in the release notes: In certain customer configurations, it was discovered that document exports to PDF or XPS formats from Office would fail due to recent updates. This update fixed these regressions and reenabled export to these formats. Moving to the semi annual channel means you don't get all the bells and whistles, but at least you get security updates and don't have to downgrade to a potentially vulnerable Office version.66KViews2likes0Comments
