Re: "Users may register their devices with Microsoft Entra" grayed out. Neither Intune nor MDM in use
Joe Stocker thanks for your prompt reply. Re: Intune and MDM, I don't know what to check. I never set it up, and when I go to the portals there is nothing there. Please see attached to see how they look. What should I be looking for? Re; licenses and subscriptions, I don't know what you mean by them being in order. Now, if that feature is not available on all subscription levels, I don't know. The other toggles in that page are available, and there is no mention of which specific licenses levels are needed in MS's learn pages. Re: the account, my account is the only Global Admin. Hi, all. I want to prevent users from registering their personal devices in Entra. The option to do so in Identity -> Devices -> All Devices - > Device Settings is grayed out. The explanation there doesn't apply to my case. It reads "Enrollment with Microsoft Intune or Mobile Device Management for Office 365 requires Device Registration. If you have configured either of these services, ALL will be selected and the button will be disabled." The thing is that I have configured neither, so the button should not be disabled. Any ideas? Thank you.Microsoft alert regarding the Yahoo mail app
I have been receiving Admin alerts from Microsoft stating: "We've detected users in your tenant may have had email messages unexpectedly deleted by the Yahoo mail app". The recommended action is to identify users and work with them to help them retrieve the emails. To identify the users, we are instructed to look up the app in the Entra portal by app ID, then identify the user. I did, I got a match to an Object ID, which I assume is the user ID. So I looked up the Object ID on the Entra Admin Center, in the search box at the top of Home, Users, All users, and I get no matches. Am I not looking correctly, or the message saying that there are users in my org using that app is a generic message and doesn't really apply to us? Thanks.Re: External collaborator on a 365 group, and emails sent to the group
Thank you so much for this. I'm trying to do this now, but I'm running into an issue connecting to Exchange Online. I'll troubleshoot that first, then give your recommendation a try (my PowerShell skills are -10). I may have to continue next week, though. I didn't want you to think that I ignored your reply. I'll report back.6.8KViews0likes1CommentRe: External collaborator on a 365 group, and emails sent to the group
Thank you for replying. If I understand correctly, by doing this no member of the group would receive emails, correct? If so, this wouldn't work. My premise was to have the Group's email address act as a distribution list, but only for internal members.7.4KViews0likes3CommentsExternal collaborator on a 365 group, and emails sent to the group
I created a 365 group for a department, so they can collaborate. I also use the group's email address as a distribution list, encouraged by Microsoft when I tried to create a distro list. But here is the rub - a person who is external to our organization is also member of the group so that the department can collaborate with them, but when an email is sent to the group, this external person gets it too, which is not what we want. How can an external be a member of a group for collaboration without receiving emails sent to the group? At the end of the day, they are external and don't need to be notified of internal things. As a patch, I modified the Group's email address, adding "ext" at the end, and created an old-school Distribution list with the department's name only. Is that the only "solution"?
