Extremely slow sync for entire org
Starting last week, our entire organization has been experiencing an issue where OneDrive for Business is taking 5-15 hours to sync even simple, tiny text files. This is happening to all of our users, and I can replicate it 100% of the time. To reproduce the issue, open the local OneDrive folder (either an individual drive or a synced SharePoint document library) and create a text file. It will sit there and not sync for 5-15 hours. I have performed the OneDrive reset, unlinked the library, deleted the OneDrive registry hive, and uninstalled the application. After reinstalling and setting up the sync again (which pulls down files just fine), the upload sync still doesn’t work for hours. I have disconnected from the VPN, connected to my personal Comcast network, and connected to my personal Verizon hotspot network. I have disabled Cortex and uninstalled it. This issue even occurs on a brand new, freshly imaged machine. I went through a 2-hour call with Microsoft Support, showed them the problem existed, and the representative acknowledged it. He took a zip of the log files in my OneDrive folder and then vanished, never updating the ticket. Also, there are ZERO sync issue errors. It does eventually sync just fine, but it takes days for users who regularly use this function. I am 100% certain that this issue is on Microsoft’s side, but I can’t seem to get anywhere with them. They just keep having me redo the same steps and then go silent when I prove to them it’s not a local client issue.Solved1.3KViews0likes2CommentsLocal Outlook Client stop updating Group inboxes
As seen on Spiceworks we and many other organizations are seeing this issue in the last few months: https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/2290594-office365-group-does-not-update-in-outlook-desktop-for-one-user Scroll down to the last 4 weeks and more and more people are seeing this. Consistently the Web version is fine but the local version stops updating these folders. A delete of the outlook profile or OST fixes the issue for about a day and then it returns. Tech support just runs people through the same steps over and over again, remove users from the group, re-add them. I like the person on Spiceworks had the same walkthrough. It doesn't last, this is an Outlook client issue. MS can you please acknowledge this as spicehead-7egyy stated in that Spiceworks thread.47KViews2likes16CommentsRecovery Services Failover, no network and agent not ready
Hello, I am using Recovery Services to protect a bunch of our on-prem servers that are on ESXI 6.7. We are having issues with a few of our older machines which are 2008R2, while we are working to get rid of these with our vendor we have found when we do our Test Failovers to Azure, we cannot get the Network to work or the Agent to go into a Ready status. The machines are running Azure VM Agent ver 2.7.41491.949. Sometimes when I toggle the "Test Connection" under Connect - RDP it seems to jog the system and get it going, but it's not consistent. I have also tried switching from DHCP to Static and back, changing subnets, doing the redeploy option and these seem to never get it going. These machines have every update in Windows update on them, the firewalls are disabled as we handle that at the network level here, there is no software that would block this. Any ideas or things that might help with the failover establishing connection?1.3KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Local Outlook Client stop updating Group inboxes
I did see that, I want to enable it but we have about 1500 users and am trying to figure out before I turn it on what this could potentially break and what all of our users are going to see so I can pass that information onto our helpdesk in preparation for calls.46KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Local Outlook Client stop updating Group inboxes
conorc26 Thanks conorc26 so much for your reply. 🙂 I have also raised a ticket (on March 31st) for our tenant and have not heard back from MS at all. As you said we get the same steps from the old support script and have done them multiple times for multiple users and it simply doesn't last. I am very confident this is a bug with the local client version of outlook. We have the latest version of it, we have tried both 32 and 64 bit we have created new outlook profiles we have unchecked the shared folder cache we have removed the users from those groups and re-added them. Happens with new groups, old groups The one and only workaround that works so far has been have the users use Outlook Web. So I agree, MS needs to escalate this.46KViews2likes6Comments
