This is the next segment of our blog series highlighting Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors who achieved the Gold milestone, the highest level attainable, and have recently graduated from university. Each blog in the series features a different student and highlights their accomplishments, their experience with the Student Ambassador community, and what they’re up to now.

Today we meet Yousra Berrachedi, who recently graduated with a master's degree in computer science from Ecole Nationale Supérieure D'informatique - Département des Systèmes d'Information (ESI) in Algeria.

When did you join the Student Ambassadors community?

I joined the Student Ambassadors community in July 2021.

What was being a Student Ambassador like?

After working with other Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors, I felt how unique the growing environment was. I still remember my first mentee from China; he was super active and energetic. It was the first time I hosted an event in China. We had more than 20 participants, and they all spoke a different language than I did. It was challenging, but we made the most of our presentation and successfully hosted an event on Git technologies together.

Tell us about a technology you had the chance to gain a skillset in as a Student Ambassador. How has this skill you acquired helped you in your post-university journey?

Thanks to the resources provided by the Microsoft experts, I started learning about Azure technologies and applied my knowledge of the applications that were included in the courses. I met many Cloud Advocates in events and learned from them.

In May 2022, I had the opportunity to host my own Azure series as part of the Global Azure event where I was able to share my knowledge with a community of students.

What is something you want all students, globally, to know about the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador Program?

I would like students to know that the MLSA program welcomes all experience levels and encourages growth. It does not really matter how much you know, but how much you are willing to learn.

What advice would you give to new Student Ambassadors, who are just starting in the program?

For all new Student Ambassadors, welcome aboard! This is a wonderful opportunity for you to learn and meet people. You may feel lost and shy in the beginning, but you will end up hosting your own events, speaking to people from different countries, learning about new cultures, collaborating on fun projects together, and maybe even winning competitions together.

Share a favorite quote with us! It can be from a movie, a song, a book, or someone you know personally. Tell us why you chose this. What does it mean for you?

My favorite quote is: "Stand for the truth even if it means standing up alone." This is a quote from an Assassin's Creed game that shows how important truth is in our life and that someone must stand up for it, even against lies.

Tell us something interesting about you, about your journey.

One of the goals I achieved after being part of this program is learning to be confident in my ideas and speak freely. I had the opportunity to host over 15 events in 9 countries including China, India, the United Kingdom, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Mauritius, Kenya, and the United States.
