ODBC Driver 18.1 for SQL Server Released

Version 18.1 of the Microsoft ODBC Driver 18 for SQL Server has been released. Version 18.1 brings several new features and fixes to the driver.

 

Features

  • New IpAddressPreference option: Choose preference between IPv6, IPv4, or OS defaults.
  • New RetryExec option to configure how the driver can retry certain executions.
  • Support for VBS-NONE enclave attestation option for using enclaves without attestation.
  • Wildcard matching of HostNameInCertificate
  • New ServerCertificate option for finer control of server certificate validation.
  • Support for Ubuntu 22.04
  • Support for Red Hat 9
  • Support for ARM64 Linux platforms: Debian 11, RedHat 8 and 9, Ubuntu 20.04, 22.04

Fixes

  • Fixed an intermittent connection failure issue with polling for the first successful connection when multiple IP addresses are resolved.
  • Fixed an intermittent hang when using SQLBulkOperations in async mode.
  • Fixed connecting with Strict and non-Strict encryption modes simultaneously.
  • Fixed a missing dependency in the Debian package.
  • Fixed an issue with idle connection resiliency when Kerberos authentication is used.
