ODBC Driver 17.4.2 for SQL Server Released

Version 17.4.2 of the Microsoft ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server has been released. Version 17.4.2 brings a few minor changes to the driver.


  • Azure Active Directory Authentication Library (adal.dll) is included in the ODBC driver installer
  • Added additional accepted Azure Key Vault DNS endpoints


  • On Linux, process ID and application name are now sent to SQL Server (for sys.dm_exec_sessions analysis)
  • On Linux, removed redundant dependency on libuuid
  • Fixed a bug when sending UTF-8 data to SQL Server 2019
  • Locales that end in "@euro" were not being correctly detected (Linux)
  • XML data was being returned incorrectly when fetched as an output parameter while using Always Encrypted
